Bayo1 is great game with great visuals and bad filter (fixable by reshading). Bayo2 is great game with exellent visuals even after 8 years. Bayo3 requires visual and gameplay remake from the scratch since day 1.
@@sadpug9398 B2's gameplay was weaker due to the over reliance in Umbran Climax to make things even flinch, and the inclusion of Demon Slave was really fun in B3, but yeah the visuals were very "eugh" even in the trailers 😅
@@lowhp_comic I was under the impression that it was simply beta footage when the first trailer dropped, so there was ample time for the devs to work around the visuals more to make the game more polished before release. Unfortunately, apart from a few adjustments to the shading engine, the game just doesn't look very good, and the switch is a system more powerful than the wiiu.
They clearly half-assed some of his animations, but even so he looks like fun. Here's hoping that a real fleshed out Lumen Sage is playable in some future Bayonetta title
If they were to redo things I'd say the Lumen Sage should be a mix of this and Viola's (garbage mechanics aside) kit. I feel like the Lumen Sage shines in its differences, so having a sprint instead of a panther and using barriers as platforms instead of butterfly wings/crow within would increase the distinction. Just imagine if Viola used feathers instead of darts, light instead of darkness, and additional elemental-type effects and spells instead of the Cheshire combo moves.
@@vadandrumist1670 Fun fact, viola's darts are an almost exact copy of how the feathers worked! Only difference is the number viola throws is always consistent while Baulder's goes 1 feather, 2, 3, then 4 before resetting to 1 again. Its a throw combo.
since balder weapon's throws a bigger version of it in certain moves and it vanishes after he uses it we can say that its an actual living angel rather than a crafted weapon from an angels parts... also love how since balder is a lumen sage he's more layed back when he moves/taunts since well they are holy beings. (that says differently tho since he made bayonetta with rosa...😳😳)
I'd say it's more that they're suave and masculine to contrast the Witches sexy and feminine poses, which is also why I find the Sages interesting as complete moveset counterparts to the Umbra
maybe on the next switch successor, platinum gotta give us reason to play these games again specially jeanne i hope she is playable in story mode in b3
I'm so upset that Balder wasn't even referenced in Bayonetta 3 or Bayonetta Origins. He would've been fun to play as in a main story. We've been robbed. ;__;
So if I had a say in it, I'd make it so sages are tattooed as part of their lumen training, and that they're actually using those tattoos to summon angels, mirroring the hair-centric magic of the witches with a skin-centric one, which would make sense given sages spend a lot of time in the sun: They need their SPF.
A shame you don't get access to Balder's big spells or his energy blade while in climax, or using the button space freed up by not using charged punches or crow within.
Part of me wonders if the only reason he and Rodin aren’t playable in the main story is because the scoring system doesn’t accommodate them very well. Realistically you would need to rebalance every chapter to be possible to pure platinum with them (although pure platinum seems to accomodate Rosa disproportionately more than Bayo/Jeanne already, so maybe this is moot?). Also, I imagine they were unsure how to get around the issue of cutscenes. You definitely couldn’t just model swap them with Bayo without it being jank or weird. There are some pretty simple solutions for these issues but I guess they just didn’t have the time/budget.
Idk about NSIC scoring, but if they simply gave Balder something like umbran spear, made him able to use enemy arms, gave him swimming form, and fixed scripts like gravity portals, or Loki dialog triggers, witch time triggering statues, he is completely potent for the main game. On 3rd climax I could get PP in Chapter 1, but messed up a little.
The easiest and simplest solution I can think of is they use Bayonetta during the Vlimax finishers and just skip thr cutscenes. This is under the assumption that the way you unlock him would have been similar for Jeanne in Bayo 1 - Platinum all chapters or a similarly difficult or at least tedious challenge. That would render needing him in cutscenes moot because by the time you unlock him you'd be skipping cutscenes to begin with.
@@sadpug9398 Doesn't Balder technically already have a version of Umbran Spear? It's been awhile since I've played Tag Climax but doesn't his forward+kick move teleport him to an enemy similar to Umbran Spear? @@narutoboy423 his "umbran spear" is far from it. It's heel slide with different animation. You can't travel with it vertically, and distance is fixed. I know I am 6 months late by now, but he does have some moves you forgot or just did not know to show. Like, pressing punch immediately after jumping (without directional imput) will do a skyward spin attack. He does also have "bat within", but not as in doing a transformation, but he will just teleport-jump into the sky when nailing the bat-within timing, from what I can tell.
@@sadpug9398 I’m guessing they never tweaked that bug with bat within until 3 because I know in 1 sometimes you still take damage with bat/moth so that could be it.

i wonder if lumen sages have pacts with angels like umbra witches do with demons??? my only questions is i wonder what their conditions are, umbra witches’ have the condition that their soul is to be sent to hell after they die, but for a lumen sage, being sent to heaven doesn’t sound like a punishment. maybe their condition is that they have to do some of the angels bidding, like how angels were commanding Jeanne on what to do in the first game
But this way they need to balance Balder and Rodin to be playable in actual game. I mean dodging enemies are hard for Balder, you can only land 2 punches before lightspeed ends. Blocking enemies aren't that big of a problem. For Rodin both dodging and blocking enemies are problematic. They can block charged attacks.
