Great vid dude just another heads up they are very smart animals and will try to work out the lid so you might have to put something on top of it hope that helps

according to Sir David Attenborough via BBC, they turn white like that when they’re stressed or feel threatened. its one of the few color changes that happen INvolutarily. like a white person turnin red when they’re mad or purple’ish//blue’ish when they can’t breathe. similar to when giant and humboldt squids flash red n white when attacking//displaying aggression.

Can I keep an octopus in a 1/2 gallon empty peanut butter jar with an airstone? I want to keep it in my glovebox and that's the biggest container that fits. Do I use normal table salt or sea salt?

@@leechow7471 ur wrong...I fit two of them in there. Now they won't be lonely cause they have a friend! They are super comfy in there cause all they do is sleep. They turned the water all slimy and stinky but j guess that's what they like cause they've never even tried to escape, and I heard they are really smart and would def escape my peanut butter jar if they didn't like it in there

@@leechow7471 no no no...I'm being sarcastic and you should NEVER keep an octopus in such a small, featureless enclosure as the one in the video, and most certainly not the one I described as a joke. Just leave octopi to the experts...this guy just gets stuff cause he thinks they look cool and has no concern over proper care for any of his animals, IMO.

You should get a glass table top and a clear feeding tank and do feedings from below for the ocopus lol. That way we could watch her eat.

Jessie Franklin they should have a bigger setup, they are really smart and need to explore. But u guess he can keep it in that cage for now if he changes the layout frequently so there is new thing for it to explore. For those who will say otherwise check out coral12g’s vid when he sets up the tank, he explains why you should change the layout. Edit: also he will need to play with it to stimulate it
You should get a big octopus and get another 15lbs lobster and keep them put them in sepret tanks

I am now up to 19 octopus in only 1 square meter...critter cages are awesome because they are compact, but still able to house anything from Alligator Gar to Monitor Lizards...all around perfect enclosure for any highly intelligent animal you are trying to break.
It's sad you feel you have to break them.

@@grimundertaker this is still not enough! he needs to be at least in a twenty gallon then upgrade as he grows.
@David Šaberl 20 gallons is the average size for a growing octopus.
