This video was great. I just want people to know that I am a dark skinned, short, small eyed, natural kinky curly haired African American girl and I had no trouble getting asked out by Korean guys while living in Korea. If you embrace the culture and the language then your chances will increase. I am not saying they wanted to marry me ha, but if you are respectable and have a nice personality, you will be fine. At one point it became overwhelming and that made me feel uncomfortable ha. I am not really use to getting a lot of attention. Anways, do not go to Korea specifically for guys. Go, enjoy the culture and as you are on your adventures you may meet a nice man, but do not let it be your main goal :)

Oh my goodness. I am SO SURPRISED about how many countries Koreans know! Here in Okinawa, I'm pretty sure many of my students have never even heard of Uzbekistan. (Today I was asked where Fiji is.) This is so refreshing to see Koreans are interested in other cultures and other people. Thanks for this interview, Megan! :D
That's because they don't have immigrant women from Uzbekistan in Okinawa. Uzbekistan is one of the top sources of immigrant wives for South Korea.

Not sure if it's the same, but in Japan, as a man of colour, i realised that people would sometimes look at me whereas in the uk where i live, no one does.
Dog Guy I think in the UK, we have people of all skin colours and ethnicity, so it doesn't bother us as much or we just don't notice as much. I never really notice and I've lived in the UK all my life. XD Either that, or I don't pay attention to things like that.

Goodness! I love the reaction of the blonde girl who says the truth, that so many foreigners are disrespectful of even common decorum of a country in which they are visiting. I see this in the US, but I think Americans often do this in other countries, too.

Cool. Maybe you could find a way or a reason to return to the same interviewees over time like for example now you ask them about Americans, then you ask them to watch some American program they wouldn't have seen and then come back to them to see if it changed their view. I dunno, just throwing stuff out there. I do think your talent is pretty faceted and diverse, but this really felt like a genuine tv item or something. There really could be more there even.

I feel like a lot of people think Koreans only date white people and aren't attracted to black or brown people. Id say they do favour whites over others but it really depends on the person! I'm the product of a black man and Korean woman, in my Korean family I have some who won't date outside of Korean people, then I have some family who are married to whites blacks and Indians. So it's all just personal and what a person is attracted to. I feel the need to clarify on this because there are LOTS of darker skinned people who really like Koreans and Korean culture and language but are afraid because of some of the things they hear from others!
People in general are not attracted to the Black people because they are the poorest. People in general are attracted to the White people because they are the richest. Just deal with it. Get over with skin color thing.

I have come to a conclusion from looking at the data that many FULLY DEVELOPED African countries actually have a higher GDP than Northern European countries....now who is calling Russia poor. What I have learned from this video by the people being interviewed surprised me. My initial thought was stereotypical stuff that had been influenced by the people around me to expect them to say that they prefer those among their own culture. This video was great, it really opened my eyes. Loved it :3

Teeheehee... I've had similar responses from my husband's friends. Though Koreans in their 30s seem a little more "shy" and "weary" of meeting/dating/marrying foreigners. I'm not sure if it's a generational gap, but it's interesting to see how a couple of years within a sample of people can alter their perspective on the same issue! Great video, as always

It makes me so happy to see how many were so open minded to interracial relationships or just a relationship with a foreigner, be they the same race. If two people love each other and the connection is there, nothing should should keep them apart. It amazing how love can see through color, country and culture.

For me, when I'm at work, I feel heavily disrespected when foreigners don't even look at me when I'm serving them, no replied greeting, put money on the counter and shove it at me when my hand is out and snatch the receipt from me without saying thank you. It happens a fair bit, especially with many Asians. My mum does some of the stuff to to an extent, but but definitely not all of it like many actually do, including scrutinising every last detail of a receipt.
I love serving people, but it makes me sad when they don't really show any appreciation for what I did for them, especially when there's self serve registers around. I know some may not be able to read English (living in a capital city, there's a high population of foreigners), but a smile, hello or thank you goes a long way.
What I do love is when foreigners can't speak English that well, they still try their best to speak it because I'm happy to assist someone who is in need of help. People have helped me out overseas and I always try to grasp the absolute basic phrases before going to those countries, so I want to pay the same respect when needed.
It is not because you are a foreigner - they do that in US too. Some people are just rude no matter what.

After finishing this video, I've watched several videos of yours in a row. It is very nice to see a youtuber actively trying to interect with Koreans. How refreshing! I've watched a lot of Korea-related videos that were made by famous youtubers but most of them have very little interaction with actual Koreans even though they live in Korea and make videos about the country and people.
