Looking forward to sharing the rest of our renovations! Thanks for watching :)
❤ you did a great 👍 job! Love the paint color and the house looks great without the ivy,. Chester is the MAN!
Eagerly waiting for the next part 😊👍🏽
Congrats bro
I missed this vid, happy for you guys
Congrats on your new place! It’s so fun to get a new place and then fix things up to make it your own. Also I’d highly recommend pressure washing the outside bricks, that’ll remove the excess vine roots and clean it so it’s knocking out 2 jobs in one. If you are painting anything else outside I’d also recommend pressure washing before you paint 😊
That's what I was thinking this whole time - shoulda power washed.
@@eman31683 for sure. Would of gotten off all the worn paint too if they did it prior to painting.
How exciting for you guys.
For many, this is a milestone moment in life.
Congrats 👏
Now the old school fella that I am , I say get a ring on Joelle's left hand.
Chester needs kids !
haha thanks, appreciate that!
Here are some pet-friendly weed killer recipes you can try:
Vinegar, salt, and dish soap
Mix one gallon of white vinegar, one cup of salt, and one tablespoon of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray weeds on a sunny day, making sure to spray directly on the weeds so you don't damage other plants. You may need to spray multiple times for tougher weeds.
Epsom salt and dish soap
Mix two cups of Epsom salt with ¼ cup of original Dawn dish soap in a clean, empty sprayer tank. Spray weeds in the morning after the dew has evaporated.
Salt
Sprinkle salt in areas where you don't want plants to grow, like patios or brick paths. Salt makes the soil unsuitable for weeds and other plants.
Congrats on buying your first home. It's a very exciting time for you both. Best of luck and I hope Chester enjoys the place as much as you do!
thanks! So far he loves his yard :)
@@AdamStew Of course he loves it -- it has big sticks to play with!!!🤣
Gardening is about having fun :-). Enjoy the process, that's where the joy is :-). Congratulations and so happy for you two (3 including Chester) :-)
Don't know if you finished with the left over vines - you may want to get a garden sprayer and spray diluted bleach on the brick and then you may be able to get it with a garden hose. You may want to buy a cheap plug in pressure washer - Do you guys have Harbor Freight Stores in Canada? They have pretty good items there!
Just wanted to say I really enjoy watching all the way from Louisiana. I always look forward to new videos.
What wonderful news! Congratulations!! You did a terrific job on the ivy removal! Chester is a great supawvisor! The gardens are lovely and mature....just move in and enjoy all of the wildbirds, butterflies, dragonflies and bees!!
Awesome job. Outstanding videos that you produce. Enjoy your new home
I see someone else already recommended sandblasting. It will definitely get rid of all the vine leftovers. Be very careful though, old brick means old mortar between the bricks. You DO NOT want to blast that out. Home depot will rent you a sandblaster, start with low pressure to be sure the bricks hold up. You might even want to try pressure washing instead, water under high pressure should also do the job. Make sure to be careful around the windows.
Thanks for the advice :)
Yes! A pressure washer is a must have
Congratulations! I am very excited for both of you. I think you have a beautiful home. I know you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it for many years to come. Lots of work ahead of you but when you look back, it will be worth it. Anxious to see future videos of your work and follow you. If I lived closer, I would offer to help wherever I could. Don H Ocala, Florida USA
Ironically I have to do this to my house TOMORROW, so this is great motivation, hahahaha. So stoked for the future home videos!!
Awesome, good luck!!!
@@AdamStew thanks, I’ll definitely need it 😂😂 I’ll have to get a nice handsaw too, I also have some of those BIIIG ol’ roots too
Tape peels with less touch up if you pull it off by keeping it close to wall instead of towards you.
This reminds me of the very first house we purchased! Got it for a steal… but we had to do this very same thing. Exfoliate the foliage… tear down multiple decrepit sheds and a pool… fun times in the middle of humid August… best of luck to you with your new home! 🏠
Great news !
🍻
congratulations on your new home , so nice to see
Hey, guys - congratulations! Can't wait to see the inside. 1) Hey to Chester - he's still such a sweetie! 2) Adam, I'm SO with you on "step 1 - throw the manual away." And I'm with Steve Wallis on "Step 2." 3) I kept thinking about a power washer for cleaning the brick and the garage door - doesn't make me right, but just an idea. 4) Joelle is right on with the overgrowth - Fall is the best time to get it under control. See ya soon!
The vine with the 5 leaflets is called Virginia Creeper.
I put together two side table last week and there were 6 bags of screws. I only used 2. I could figure out where the other 4 bags of screws went, but they are sturdy and i love them. So i think they are fine. ❤
Woooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats you two!!!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations an your new home.
congratulations, just found your videos and have been watching...love Chester he reminds me of my McGyver All the best in your new home :)
Love the garden. The vine was something else... I suggest you look for a book about flower gardening. Tell you what you have and how to maintain it. Good luck on all the future things you'll be doing at your new home.
Congratulations on your home!
What a beautiful improvement with a few strokes of the brush!
Love your beautiful flowers!!🥰
Congrats!! We love your videos!! Cute couple!
Congratulations you guys, A lot of work ahead but also satisfying! Chester seemed to have found his new spot on the new furniture! Thank you for bringing us along.
Hey guys wishing you all the very best for your new home from Scotland. May you make many amazing memories there filled with much joy.
Congrats from Argentina guys!
Congrats on the new house! Watching you pull that ivy off brought back painful memories as we had the same issue!! Keep up the good work!
Congrats you guys!!
We need more of these videos!!
Beautiful home. You guys definitely saw the potential. Can’t wait for more videos in turning your new house into a home.
You should invest in a power washer. That worked for me
Looks good. I enjoy watching the videos of the three of you. Keep them coming.
Congratulations so happy for you guys it’s nothing like your first home wishing the best in your new home ❤❤❤❤❤
Have you thought of trying a power washer to get the tiny stuck on roots off of the brick? I thought that might work well.
Your house looks so cute and cozy and the garden omg! It looks like it would be so peacefully to live there 😍. So happy for you guys xx
Congratulations on your new home. Now let the home games begin. Me and my wife bought a home 2 years ago. And watching your videos has inspired us to go camping. So the camping games has begun for us as well. Lol
Congrats on being new home owners. Go to the craft store & get a packet of different sized water color paint brushes for those tight nooks & crannies. They will come in handy for any future paint jobs you have especially inside the house. Looking forward to future transformations.....Cheers!
The garage door looks brand new. Nice job!
Congrats on buying your first home together! What an exciting time for you both. On a side note - we had a similar ivy problem when we bought our home and yep lots of elbow grease getting rid of all the stuff attached to the brick wall! Wish I had a magic solution for you but I don’t lol
Congrats on the new home and this next chapter in your life!
House looks much better with initial changes.
My advice on the garden….wait through a full year of seasons to see what comes up. Looks like a treasure trove of perennials. Then you can decide what you like or not and redesign. Fertilize, nine the less.
Next, learn what is a weed and pull after rain on a regular basis. There are lots of ways to manage weeds without nasty chemicals. You’ll learn.
I live in Cleveland, OH with somewhat similar weather and a 4 year new home so I get wanting to attack everything now. You have youth on your side. My wise, almost 100 year old mother repeats the “live there a year” before doing anything drastic. Saves in the long run.
Love your videos and your wonderful blooming relationship. Enjoy and though I live the camping videos, so glad to see your new home!
Congrats you two!! Exciting times starting your lives together 😃
Congratulations owning your first home. You two have alot of work ahead of you. 😊
Congratulations! Adam; a power washer will help with the ivy attachments.. Joelle; my wife feeds miracle grow to everything, it really works 99% of the time!
I’m so happy for you guys! And your dog is adorable 🥰 ❤
Appreciate it!
Congratulations!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 looks awesome, can't wait to see more updates!!
Thanks :)
Congratulations.
u guys r my new favorite youtubers omg❤
Oh yea, thats a nice looking doghouse ,Chester is gonna share with you guys. Congratulations, to ya both on your first home. Take your time, it can be demanding, but very rewarding. ** Progress has no patience** - Geddy Lee,Rush.
congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job! 👍
Garden is so beautiful.
Nothing quite like home ownership. Try to enjoy it!
The vines always seem like a good idea but after awhile you'll realize they all need to go! It'll help with pest control too! Chester has his own home and yard to do as he wants...yay!
They have a mind of their own, thats for sure!
Congratulations to the both of you!!
The two metal pieces from your furniture are part of the box … maintains the integrity of the box.
Just a suggestion … plaint the trim around the garage the same Colour as the door.
Took me a while but I eventually got to that conclusion lol thanks for watching :)
@@AdamStew we bought similar furniture and said the same thing. My wife figured it out. Forgot to mention that I very much enjoy your videos. Cheers from Toronto.
House is looking good great job on the garage door ❤
Banging house!!!! Some comments but I’ll wait till I’ve had a few less beers!
Congratulations on your house 🏠. Yes that all needs to be taken out asap 🙏
Looks nice guys!! So happy for yall!!!
And we are looking forward to seeing your lady working the garden. Wait, did you say something?
Congrats!
I love houses made with brick. Great choice for a house!
Beautiful work and a great house. Georgian Bay is so beautiful. What kind of fish did you get?
Love you guys.
congratulations🎉
Congrats 🎉 Have you tried pressure washing the bricks outside? Best of luck
Congratulations from Serbia👍😊
What a lovely house n a lovely gurl u have.
That ivy would give me nightmares, wondering where it might be creeping into the inside of the house. No that it's gone, the other plants, especially the hostas show up much more. Best of luck to you both.
Pressure wash your brick will make it squeaky clean.
We'll give that a shot, thanks :)
Give us full tour after full renovation❣️
Beautiful❤😊
Try power wasshing. Congratulations and have fun
congrats
Go purchase a nice powerful pressure washer- clean the bricks, and garage door etc.
The big tall plants with the yellow are weeds
Congrats looks great 👍
power washing will most likely help to clean the stuff off the brick
Where did u guys end up buying? Congratz!!
❤❤❤
Man, that Virginia Creeper took over.
Please make more video for daily journey
we had that ivory at a house growing and hate to say those vines are a big pain to get the tiny pieces off the bricks.
It's brutal!
I had by two brothers plus my Dad which makes four of us. When you took the vines we had a really bad crack brick wall and my Dad never got a home inspection.
@@AdamStew
Congratulations, get a power washer you can rent them
Congrats on the new place. ❤ Have you thought about pressure washing the house? Friends of mine did that when they took down their ivy and it looked great after. Also, never seen anyone paint the shutters while they’re up. Usually you take them down, paint them then put them back up.
new subscriber, congrats on the house and great job on the work, I love watching you guys have such great trips as well venturing around my home province :) Give a pressure washer a go on the brick (2700/3200 gas powered) to help with the vines. Last resort maybe hand torch it a small section at a time with a very wet cloth in the other hand. Spread those Bee Balms around they are just stupendous, Bees obviously love them, if there are any hummingbirds in your neighbourhood, they'll find the bee balms as well for sure. Lots of visual fun :)
Hi from Orillia
Felicitaciones
use a pressure washer on your house much easier then scraping
Congratulations guys❤💙🥰👍🙏🏽😂🇵🇭
Nice video
Don't know if you'll see this invest in a good brush and roller frame and pad it will make your life so much easier trust and believe
just wash the walls with pressure washer and edger
Congratulations on the house i guess after you paint you should try and pressure wash the eaves and brick to try and bring it back to life
Congratulations on your new home! Next adventure is gonna be going to the hardware store and buying all the stuff that you need. Wheelbarrows, shovels and hoes! Have fun, y'all got ivy for days.
V nice volg friends ❤❤❤❤❤
