This is so cool! The only think that would make it cooler would be a map of some kind showing your progress. We are rooting for you! 😅👏🏻

Just found ya on here. You don't seem to be carrying much, I hope you do a gear video...I'm curious what you're carrying along and what you dont have lol

Awesome video! Fyi I would stay out of those giant sprinklers on the farms...lots of them put fertilizer in them and spray all sorts of stuff you don't want on you!

That's a good point, lol. Haven't grown any extra limbs - but if I do, I'll know why.

The bit about HWY26, felt that. Those moments are magic. Phenomenal series, man!

Thanks man! I think, technically, I’ve rejoined 26 a couple of places. Amazing where one road goes.

Very nice work! Your use of music is tastefully done. The quiet parts are nice, too. Great photo shots and editing. Bravo!

Trapped inside on a very rainy week in Tennessee. Your video was very uplifting considering my butt is parked in a recliner instead of my saddle. Very jealous that you have had the opportunity to do what I have always wanted to do, but old age and a disability have changed a lot of plans that I thought I would have accomplished by now. And on a side note. Don't ever feel bad about not sharing meetings you have with others along the road. That is time for you to share with yourself and your newfound friends, and it's okay not to share as part of your videos. Sort of like not having to share every thought you have, it's okay to keep some things to yourself.

That smoke is a real buzzkill. Got Julianna and I on our ride across the US in 2021. You have a great eye for framing and (IMO) great taste for music. Looks like you have some expertise in this area. Nice videos! I'll be following.

Indeed - a hard thing to predict / work around. Glad I got out of it relatively quick though.
Thanks so much for the compliments - just figuring it out as I go!

I watch bike vids all the time, this is one of the best. Camping with motels every once in while. Although I would get a long haul trucker from Surly Bikes. I would not camp in grizzly country. Thanx

YT said I needed to check this out, and what a cool vid to stumble upon when I've been to all these places as a matter of therapy and escape. I even recognized the spot where you made camp - Nehalem Bay State Park, one of my favorites to bike around in.
I'm your 18th sub, let's see how this trip goes, hopefully this is being posted in delay.

Thanks for following along! I'm mostly following the ACA's TransAmerica route, so will end up south of NY State.

Now you have content! When did you leave Baker City? I arrived there yesterday by catching a ride after getting to Prairie City by People Mover and hope to be able to leave tomorrow. I’m being careful about the smoke. I hope you don’t suffer any negative effects from it, either short-term or long-term.
How do you get those arial shots and the shots of you passing the camera set on the road? How much time do you spend setting up those shots?

      @somethinglikebike  2 місяці тому +2

Left Baker city after one rest day there. Took off on Tuesday. The smoke is nasty, wise to be careful about it.
I have a small drone that I use for arial shots and yes - I do the classic "set the gopro down and ride past it" routine to get those passing shots.
It's a bit tedious, but it also forces me to take breaks. Probably only like 2-3 mins per shot. Mostly shooting from the hip and seeing what sticks.
Hope you are well and safe travels!
