Why is there a difference in the winshield post from the outside view (looks like a 1957 Chev B) and the inside view, a typical modern, sloped windshild post?

Now that is a BELAIR ! the 6 cyl, isn't worth anything. 6 cyl's were great for heavy torch but bad for anything else. The 4 and 8 are the only way to go. 4 is good for fuel saving with a bit of HP show. But the 400+ HP is every mans dream. This is what car manufacturing needs to start putting out. The look of the great classic's ! !
