9:48 A good way to think of multiclass in DC20 is that your is class is like a College Major, and multiclassing is like choosing an Elective. It adds breadth to what you're learning, but your core is unchanged. That Fighter did not stop being a Fighter just because he learned how to Rage like a Barbarian or use stances like a Monk.
@astrogamer927 yeah there are some minor details I left out like how flanking is slightly different, or new rules like collision. But I felt those would still feel intuitive to understand, and didn't want to make the video too long
I’ve read all the DC 20 stuff and I’m super glad to have something to give my players to teach them the difference. Also I needed a refresher on some of this thank you, well done
It's interesting how DC20 and Nimble went in slightly different ways for "to hit" and "damage". Both systems utilize single rolls to determine both (although Nimble does have the exploding crit possibility).
@@bertman4 yeah I think its cool to see people deviate from the standard set by DnD and see what other possibilities exist. And which ones fit certain games
not sure i'm a fan of multiple checks penalty, though I can see the good intention and would have to playtest it to really feel the implications and in-game flow
@Woadge there are some similarities but it still differs in many ways from pf2e. Unfortunately I have much less experience with pf2e, so I don't feel comfortable making the equivalent of this video for pathfinder players. But choices are much more impactful in this system and many elements feel more streamlined in pf2e. I encourage you to join The Dungeon Coach discord to learn more where other people can better explain the differences
Wrong. No attribute scores only modifiers, Prime modifier allows many more types of character archetypes and customizability, theres no non-fungible Reaction, you can use AP to add stacking advantage which PF2 doesn’t even have, no spell slots, Stamina as an alternative resource for martials to use power abilities, no seperate unrelated rolls for attack and damage, saves are never used for damage effects, completely customizable Ancestry system, compressed number values, different feat/talent system, different multiclass system, and so much more. If DC20 is a ‘slightly modified’ PF2, PF2 is a ‘slightly modified 5e’.
A vast majority of DC20 players are coming in from D&D or something similar, so this is a great resource. Good job.
@@RulesandRulings thank you so much
give this man a raise

@@Azerinth that's a pretty good analogy for it
I'm surprised how concise and effective this was. Seems like you covered it all and at no point does it feel tedious.
@CantRIP9389 yeah I was so surprised this came out to be less than 30 minutes and not 1 hour lmao
@claudio_wild1074 so am I tbh. I was suprized at the end of the video because I expected it to be longer.
