- If you're lucky enough to live in an area where exotic fruits are abundant and easy to grow, then you're probably familiar with the rambutan fruit. If not, let us give you a little crash course!
The rambutan fruit, nephelium lappaceum, is an exotic fruit that is highly prized in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It looks like a spiky/hairy lychee fruit, and also tastes like one in the sense that it is a little bit sweet and a little bit sour.
The fruit, or berry, is oval shaped and contains a single seed. The outer appearance of the rambutan is orange/reddish with fleshy spines. Today you'll be learning how to grow rambutan and where exactly you can grow it!

hi after soak for 12 to 24 hours, and put to ground, the seed need light to germinate or no ?
Hi..You are correct. Required to soak and put on soil. Please not put on direct sunlight.🤗
Rambutan is very expensive in my country. I bought some from the store and they would stop germinating just as the root poked out from the seed. I never cut the top of the seed off. The seed would just rot away. I will try your method. Thank you so much.

Did everything shown here up to cutting top off and planting in burnt rice husk. But where do you then put the pot? In the sun, in the shade? Do you water it daily? weekly? So far it's been about 7 days and the seeds look old/dead. I pulled some out and found no roots. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi..We clean and soak seeds in 6 hours with fresh water.The cut top off seeds for fast germination. For watering 1 time in daily. After that put the seeds at shade area. We suspect your seeds no grow up because no fresh regarding long times during shipping.🤗
@@agrogardening The seeds weren't shipped to me. I bought some Rambutan fruit and ate them. Then I followed the video.

This did not work. I cut the top of Rambutan and the seed rot and did not germinate.😒
Hi..May i know the rambutan fresh or frozen. If frozen percentage to germinate is low.
