That seems to be pretty common. There are a number of doors that you never actually go through because of the tricks in chapter 7, and when I've been able to finagle my way inside some of them, it's the same red carpeted hallway with the same bricked off exit and the same "please use other door" sign on them. Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity to hide more secrets and Easter eggs, but oh well.
I recently made it into that room and they added an easter egg that's actually pretty cool. I'm glad I waited for the steam version to come out before playing, would've been very sad if this was my reward after stacking shit awkwardly for over an hour
I spent two and a half hours building my way up there yesterday. It took so many approaches until I finally landed on one that worked. Somewhere along the line of being a fairly lightweight artsy game, superliminal created a really unique challenge that really pushed my ingenuity and I don't even think they meant to. Sad thing is, I didn't even realize that you could just grab that extending block as you fall into the room and just succeed that way.
If you place the stairs such that they are large enough to cover both beams under the floor, the floor tiles won't teeter and fall. The beams only seem to let go when the floor tiles teeter off of them.
Yes if you make the stairs giant and just right you and place it without collapsing the floor - it will shake but it will hold and then you can climb up as normal. :)
I hardly even noticed the door on my first (and second) playthrough. When I saw the stairs, I thought “Let’s make the stairs bigger because I don’t know what else to do.”
I was trying to do this for like an hour before I figured I would move on and come back later. As it is such a hard climb I figured there would be a good reward like a blueprint or chess piece, I’m glad I didn’t find out the dead end for myself
soo sad that they make you think its the correct path but in fact is a wrong route ps how about doing the same in the MOON room. and the Red carpet room. where there are exit signs all over {before the moon room} try going up as far as possible
Took me a hour to tower up here. It's much easier with the multiplayer coop mode, you can just put your friend up there, who will pock you up from above
Nice! Luckily in the current version they did include an easter egg up there AND you can get into there a lot easier now. There is a Block in that hallway that you can click at while falling down and if you do that it creates a hovering line of cubes to your position which you can use as stairs to get up there without spending 20 minutes of fiddling with stackable objects XD

I am, but for some reason when the floor trap is triggered, a different game state where the Easter Egg isn’t in the hallway occurs. If I climb up without triggering the floor trap, the egg is there, so I did find it eventually. I don’t see why the egg would disappear after the floor falls out, kind of a waste to build all the way back up and the egg not be there after all that effort.
@@SkeleLock that's weird because in m game the floor collapsed and I built my way up there and the egg was there. How even did you get up there without the pieces from the floor / the floor not collapsing? Placing the stairs would always collapse the floor for me.
I found if you make the stairs a large enough size and set them down instead of dropping them from high up, the stairs prevent the floor panels from tipping in either direction. The panels tipping past a certain point is what triggers the trap. If you take the stairs to the middle of one panel and slowly make them bigger, you can watch the panels wobble a bit, but so long as they don’t tilt too far, the floor will never collapse. That’s how I figured out how the trap works. It took a few tried to replicate it but I was able to use this trick twice.
I was determined to get up there too. I used the stairs as a weight and the floor as a lever and launched myself up there.

They actually also hid a little unused feature in that hallway
I think they should’ve worked way more with those hidden passages it’s not really rewarding
So is not needed to enter this room to get all the extinguishers? I lost 2 hours of my life...
