I used to treat Blaser as a pretentious toy for the rich who want to surprise their friends on the hunt, but I have never seen Blaser used like you - not for showing off, but 100% for shooting, and no pathos! I want to ask for your advice on the choice of components for a rifle. The tasks for which I want a new rifle are 100% the same as yours - this is shooting training, a little hunting - the same Stag and Deer hunting. If you were to assemble a kit for yourself, from the height of your experience, what would you take? What calibers? What barrels? Profile (17, 19?) and length? Stock? Scope cron? Optic? For example, I don’t understand the situation with sighting reticles from European manufacturers at all - Swarovski, Zeiss, the same Blaser make excellent sights, but the reticles are 100 years behind. Cross or dot, no ballistics, no wind, no rangefinder, no ruler, I don't understand how you can shoot fast without the ability to take out on the grid. I will be glad to any of your comments! Can you make another video on this topic?? What scope? If I understand correctly, you are asking for a Blaser setup? That's fairly easy, buy an R8 Professional but go for the Ultimate if you are into targets. Buy secondhand as you will recover most of your money that way should you decide to sell. Both model will require an aftermarket fit of either bipod spigot or picatinny adapter. Barrels are expendable items. Calibers. Choose a low recoil match cartridge that meets your legal minimum AND has a dependable local supply AND that is the cheapest option. Example in case, I shoot 6,5x55 because it costs half of 6,5 Creedmoor here. Both will deliver near identical results in every application. Every telltale on the market tells me NOT to choose any exotic caliber, as most likely supply and price increase will kill your financial ability to shoot. If you are looking at something fancy, multiply the price difference by 3000 (you'll shoot that number before you know it) and decide if you want to throw that money away on something that most likely will amount to nothing more than a cartridge headstamp. Add 20% to that figure if you are pessimistic about the future and also shave off 10% of your disposable income to reflect increasing living expenses. Are you crying yet? Look at the selection of bullets, as long as manufaturers G1 Bc hovers right around 0,5 +/- 0,04 you're good. You have to pass G1 0,6 before there is a real difference in performance and once you drop below 0,4 you are approaching a real handicap for windcalls. 6,5mms are very well balanced here, great ballistics and good knockdown. Barrels, I always get standard barrels and cut them to 50cm for use with moderators. I have always used Atec moderators, they work, so I haven't explored what's on the market. Second barrel. If you have intention to practice and good access to shooting grounds, a 22 LR kit will see you comfortably shoot 100-200 rounds each session and you can really finetune fundamental shooting skills. A friend has one, the gunsmith balanced it so it has exactly the same weight as his larget caliber barrels. Third barrel. If you regularily do expensive foreign hunts, I would consider a for-purpose caliber. Something fast & high Bc (max windcall error) for mountain game. Examples would be 6.5 PRC, 7mm RM, 300NM. Or something big and lethal for African game. But this is only if you ACTUALLY do this hunts, if not you're just sinking a lot of money into nothing. Scope. I am fan of reliable optics, quality above "good enough". My choice today would be Schmidt Bender PMII 5-20x50 Ultra Short or the 6-36x56 with a basic MRAD reticle with minimal illumionation. Stay away from complicated grid systems or a lot of illumination that obscure vision. As it is, I am perfectly happy with my Minox ZP5 and there's no way I can justify buying new optics just "because"...

Aye, the Scottish tinged Norwegian english..... I think all those highand trips have rubbed off on you laddie. :P
Which is kinda funny considering how little I understand when scots speak when scots... And it's man... (if you ever saw the hilarious "and it's mam...")
@@THLR Just in case, but I think you got it - "Laddie" is a Scottish word for a boy or in regular English, a Lad (usually a mischievous kid :) ). I sure was not calling you a woman Thomas :P But, Scots do wear skirts...so maybe you...err...never mind :P
How good is the new ultimate stock? Worth the upgrade?
Depends on what you want to achieve. Deader game animals? Then no. Tighter groups on paper? If so, how important are those tight groups. Can the tighter groups be achieved with some training ammo instead? Do you have an Success already? Have you considered just adding a recoil pad shim and cheekrest to that? I really like my Ultimate now, but I also went from the Professional stock and I wanted the Atzl trigger. It's good to shoot, but I don't really need it to be adjustable - I just want the fit. I don't see how it's worth the upgrade if there is no actual need.
Great channel! What caliber do you use?
6,5x55
Swede barrel?
Yes, absolutely! It is the only calibre I can shoot factory & volume! Saw some Fb posts, seems like you're enjoying Texas now. I had my first day without gloves yesterday...
Hører på aksenten at du har et par turer i Skottland bak deg, hehehe.
Blir vel 24. året om jeg kommer meg avgårde til høsten...
