In the USA we call a “pulley trekker” a wheel puller.

As you, I always use levers to take out the hands, but the Presto tool is great to take out the cannon pinion in a safe way

Hi what would be the best movement to start working with to learn about watchmaking and where do you get information about disassemble and oiling from ie images

That question requires a long answer. I'll make it into a video, because we get this question often. Expect the clip in the a few weeks Richard!
Few tips already: Not on watches from others ;o), buy in thriftshops "Swiss Made" on the dial, if you shake it and it starts running for a few seconds, than you'll know the movement is complete. Good luck!

In two books, I read to start with a Unitas 6497, which is kind of basic and large. To just learn by disassemble, I recommend to get a Seagull ST36, which is the chinese clone for around 30 Euros/Dollars, so the financial damage in case of breaking it is not that bad.

Dear Chronoglide firstly I would like to say I think you are totally amazing, and thank you for all the amazing tips and videos you have uploaded. I wish I was as good as you and had a quarter of the knowledge you have .
Can I please offer I bit of criticism, sadly, but not really when I was a child I was beaten for saying ummm arrrrr , you do this very often , I guess it’s because you can speak many languages and in your head you are translating, if you are say nothing let us eagerly await your next word, to me it’s painful to hear from someone so great , your friend I hope jeff
