I couldn't just use flats on my hardtail (2020 Norco torrent) successful hits do knock my feet off. I have opted to use Cranbro's DH with a more freeride/dh oriented clipless shoe instead of your traditional XC, with good vibram sole for the times you do need to push and walk the bike ;) I think its the best of both worlds as long as you are comfortable with clips. For my DJ-ing and BMXing, I opt for just enough traction - BMX pedals and Vans, you want to be able to ditch when necessary.
I have "peculiar" feet so have never been able to ride flat pedals. I have learnt how to ride clips without falling off. I CAN unclip without having to give it much thought.... I never lose my foot position. I`m riding TIME pedals on my Mondraker Vantage and wouldnt run anything else... Thats my input. Nice videos by the way, subcribed ;)
Thats awesome! I will have to look into those. And to be fair I was running more of an XC style pedal. I may have to give her a go again with a better setup. :)
@@Andrew_Dahlman I have a few sets ranging from The old Z-Control to an MX-6. I recently found someone selling Mavic pedals from germany, which are the same pedal rebranded.
When I got my scout I found having a faster bike my feet keep bouncing off . I’m toying with the idea of clips . I’m running crankbrothers stamp 7 large .
If you give yourself time to adapt, you ll never ask for flats anymore In my opinion hardtail or full sus. I can now put my feet down in milisecond,as I were on flats. Almost all EWS and many downhill riders are using clips for a reason. WHEN I hammer down roots or rocks, wet, mud or snow,I Feel one with my machine.I was before strong flats guy, woldn t try clips no metter what. And then I tried😂
I’ve got the free riders . I was even thinking about going the nukeproof Sam Hill pedals first , if they’re good enough for one of the best mtb riders ever they’ll be good enough for me 😂 what shoe would you recommend? They are nearly due for a change also my LBS stocks ride concepts.
I'm currently using a GoPro Max and I shoot In Hero Mode. So its a 360 camera but I only use one lens. and stabilization is basically the same as a gamble. :). I just have that mounted to my chest.
@@BenYorkeMrHardtail thank you, hey I wanted to let you know your videos are super positive and provide a nice mood for me every time I watch them. I've got a 21 Meta HT in Sand myself and am looking forward to riding on it soon. Keep it positive and good luck 🤞! Life is amazing ! Edit: I'll post on my channel as well. As long as I get some trails !
Becoming the content KING my dude! Stoked about my MetaHT coming in November. Stay safe!

@@BenYorkeMrHardtail TIMEs have 5 or 15 degrees of float depending on how you put the shoe cleat in. They also come with quite a substantial platform.
What model do you have? I was looking at the ATAC 2's

Never tryed clipless. Maybe some day 😀
Use nothing but 647 on the Stiffee, put the flats in a box years ago and never took them back out.
Do you have any lower back pain from riding such gnarly stuff on a HT? Would love to know if you're doing some stretching or anything...love the vids!
