- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

As a player who does not have any Hero mechs, I really appreciate the alternate build suggestion in this one!
At least one is good to have for cbill farming
Make sure you join a team for the upcoming MWO 2021 Comp. You don't have to do well, just play 20 games with your team and you'll get like 7500 MC (and other stuff) to buy hero mechs! I've done that twice now. And loot bag events can yield a good amount of MC too. I have about 10 hero mechs that I've never paid for. Oh and wait for the various sales before you spend your MC to get them half price
Best part of Baradul getting destroyed in a match is that we get hear Baradul doing play by play for the rest of the match. Damn it's fun to watch and listen to you watch the match!
If a user is disconnected, they should give the mech to another pilot that dies in their first mech.
Second match was incredible. Insane brawl that could have went either way a number of times.

I would say dropping the heatsink for ammo would be a good call. Your heat seemed to top out around 60% and that was mostly *after* you were out of ammo for the AC's.

You’ve got to try out two uac 10s with either 4 heavy mediums or 4 erml, run it with two uacs on one side and the lasers on the other. I love it. Feels decently powerful to me.
Second match was a good combo of overwatch and second line support.
Ah Ebon J is my favorite mech to play in MWO.

I run this build with 2uac2 & 2uac5. It's slim on ammo but it works for sure
If a mech on your team hasn't moved since the beginning of the game, any team member that loses a mech should be able to respawn in that mech and take it over. That would help make up for the disadvantage of those disconnects ruining the odds of winning.
Hey Baradul, I just obtained the Ebon Jaguar hero mech and went for a quad U-AC2 with the 20% U-AC jam chances parts, you should give it a try, it is absolutely sick !

Try this build on the Black Widow Warhammer. 4xLBX2 4xstr meds IS build works well
Guns in the shoulder pods, medium pulses in the arms, melt people.
It seems like the jaguar is easy to ignore Mech if near Bigger mechs. My jaguar is a ppc, MG, P Lazer build. It works
The high mounts for the torso cannons makes this worth it.

Hey Bara! I know every daily dose vid shows us great spots to position. But do you have any positioning tips for players that are mostly clueless?
It looks like the last update may have made the game more unstable. This is the third time I've seen/heard about the game crashing in the past two days, with one of those being myself, one being a small streamer (Smashtion from Lads-Upon-Fire), and this guy in the video. Interesting

the small ballistic weapons make a great backup for a hot laser build, but they aren't so great as a primary weapon

I run this either LBX2s or ultra 2s on chain and just let the stream of dakka fly! And heavy mediums instead of ERs

What's a good beginner mech for each class? Just started playing this, a bit overwhelmed with the choices 😆
That's a good question, since within the classes there are roles too (fire support, flanker, sniper, brawler). I would recommend something relatively easy like a Catapult to help you learn positioning within the team as a fire support, rather than a brawler (like an Atlas) where you may have to lead the charge and you'd be punished hard for engaging at the wrong time.
What I find works is to find what weapon you like working with using the testing grounds, then find a mech that can utilize that weapon how you would like (high mounts, able to fit the weapon in the arms if you prefer that, lots of slots for that weapon if you intend to boat it). In case you had not noticed this, you can go to the store, edit the mechs in the mechlab before you buy them, then test them out in the testing grounds without ever buying anything. I recommend testing them in adverse environments like tourmaline because that will show how it will perform when you are really pushing the heat curve. Beyond that, there are few mechs that work close to stock that can be used and still work. The Crab and the Enforcer are great examples of mechs that start out decent, and can be built upon incrementally as you make more money. I do not worry to much about pre set builds, and worry more about bringing what you like on a platform you like. Have fun out there!

Ye know, I hate Clanner-Nonsense... but the Ebon Jaguar is a decent looking Mech. I have to hand it to You Batchal looney's for this one.
Also these DC's seem to be getting worse. Have at least one Disconnect every round, one round THREE people dropped out on My team. What in the Inner Sphere is going on here?

I haven't played MWO in a long time, and wasn't very good to begin with. Having said that, I fail to see by which metric the Ebon Jaguar is now garbage. Would you care to explain? On paper, the Jaguar seems just fine. High mounted side torso weapon hardpoints means it can clear pieces of cover and some hills with little exposure of center mass. The biggest issue I can see is the convergence.
