Fantastic, I searched Karma with interest and am very glad I came across your video. I was hoping for something non-hokey and I'm glad I found something I can identify with and rings true to me. Thank you, I'll enjoy watching some of your other videos when I get a chance.
I think the very last thing a Saint would desire is having their next birth as a rich or famous person! That's would put that person back at square one in their souls evolution!
Jesus says in revelation chapter 3 verse 12 he that OVERCOMMITH no have to go BACK OUT!!! if you are a saint in this life you are done YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN!!! THE WORDS OF JESUS!!! ❤️😲😳
I am sorry to have put forth a long question but I have the sense you speak from a place of grounded-ness and common sense and you seemed to be the best person to ask.
Hi Ryan, I have watched you video on "when not to practice Kriya"... So, if one has chronic or terminal illness, better luck next lifetime? I know there are other techniques of yoga, but did Paramahansa Yogananda say not to practice when ill.,I think he was ill with stomach problems his entire young life. Will you tell me in the literature where it says not to practice Kriya, if a person is ill or menstruatiing (from self realization fellowship approved literature)? Much appreciation.
Theresa Myers For more of my thoughts and experiences based on what I had been taught directly see the video on health and healing. For information from Self-realization Fellowship, ask them. You are also welcome to experiment for your self. That is often the best teacher anyway, because you cannot deny, refute, or doubt your own experiences. ua-cam.com/video/w3-RiopzWEc/v-deo.html
Can you possibly answer this please? Why is it that some gurus are dismissive or unkind to their devotees ostensibly saying it is to break down the ego and pride and to instill humility but if the person doesn't feel so proud or think they have much to be proud of, what is the purpose to break them down further? This brings up the corresponding phenomenon of group antipathy. If a guru decides to chastise a devotee or ignore a devotee, it seems the surrounding community follows the guru's lead and does likewise. Is this really productive or is it not just an exercise in collective unkindness? Doesn't life itself by the very nature that we have to live and earn a living and survive, break down the ego? Don't we need a certain amount of ego to simply feel competent enough to do our dharma?
The sad part about "spiritual" groups and teachers is that most people just find a teacher or group and say..."That's is a spiritual group. It must be good and wholesome. Because how could they call themselves spiritual if it were not so." and they don't take the time to explore or check out the group or teacher. Good marketing, a host of devotees who want to believe something is good, and a really intelligent person who is the leader can manipulate all of these things. Yes. The ego is necessary to relate to the world. Some "teachers" are just assholes or sociopaths who have found that in a world where people are searching for answers, they can put themselves in a position of power, and take advantage of those who are needy in the name of "being spiritual" or breaking down someones ego. Now these assholes ARE teachers too. Hopefully they teach you to trust yourself and avoid such people in the future! Most people seeking spiritual guidance on some level feel incomplete or have are in bad circumstances, or are not psychologically healthy and are looking for a father or mother figure to fill the void. A clever person knows this, and will feed upon that neediness. That is why I typically advise avoiding groups for spiritual purposes. And go to a good counselor or psychologist to work out your obsessions and compulsions before you start on a spiritual path (and we all have these things to some degree in the beginning.) Remember this. Just because someone claims to be a teacher or a person has a host of followers doesn't mean they have any realization at all. It can mean they are intelligent, and know the right "spiritual" things to say when the time is right. A true "teacher" will not inspire anxiety, depression, fear or any other such state. They will hold a space of peace. If you meet someone who is peace and when you leave there presence or think about them, you remember that peace, and are inspired to develop it in your self. They are a teacher. They may or may not have a following. They will not tell you how to live your life, although if asked, they may tell you how they were successful. Then you can choose to follow their example or not. Either way, they won't expect you too, and will love you unconditionally one way or the other.
Hey Ryan, does your world view include a crazy demiurge who thinks he can run this planet? I'm still undecided at present, but if you were responsible for a demigod like that, wouldn't "overseeing" our experience here on earth be a great way to keep him occupied - you know, adjusting our settings and stuff? Just curious to see how many filters you have discovered between ourselves and Source, and how far you think the karmic "mud room" extends.
Ryan, the constellations do not create the zodiac right.. there's 13 of them along the ecliptic and all of unequal size so... where do the signs actually get their names from? And also interested in why the Moon gets the 'highest' piece of property in the sky and not the Sun? Is it because those times where more matriarchal oriented? Thank you
It's my estimation that originally the "names" were meant to reveal the energy of the sign as a brief descriptor to refer to. There was a greek about 2000 years ago, who finally said... Aries, Taurus, etc. I forget his name. See the mp3 recording related to this article for those specifics. ashevillevedicastrology.wordpress.com/2012/08/06/mystery-of-the-zodiac-by-ernst-wilhelm/ Of course, these things were so far in the past, that we are only doing our best at estimating, myself and experts included.
Really great talk Ryan, deep, intelligent, precise, balanced... so nice to listen to !
