I can tell by the way you are breathing that the high altitude is kicking your butt lol. I was born and raised in northern Colorado but moved 4 yrs ago. I sure do miss living there
Next time you are in Colorado, I would love to show you our active mineral and crystal mines! We mine amazonite, smokey quartz crystals, fluorite, and many other minerals for gems and jewelry. Would make for a cool video, I'm sure. Hit me up next time you're around! Love what you do, Chris! So entertaining.
My wife walked into the room and wondered what i was watching with all the heavy breathing. Lol. That was an awesome find, the chipmunks were cute. I kept thinking of Chris Farley falling down the mountain, you were high up. Thanks for the adventure!!!
I’m loving your Colorado adventure Chris. I moved away many years ago, but it still holds a place in my heart. I think that you are doing great with that altitude. Unless you’ve been there you don’t know how thin that air is. I am anxious to see your next exploration. I could watch the Colorado explorations for weeks, there are so many beautiful places there and that valley is no exception. Many thanks Chris for bringing us along. 👊☮️😷
Thank you for traveling all over the world to bring us these terrific explores, man! I’ve been watching your channels for a year I think and I’ve enjoyed them all
Are they still alive? I'm gathering they have moved moved but when? What was it like for you? I know it's not any of my business... I just find it interesting!
I have gotten altitude sickness by staying the night at a place that was at 9000'. But going to old mine sites and mining ghost towns is one of my favorite things to do! 😁⚒️👻
I absolutely loved the beautiful views. I know it was killing you not to be able to crawl around inside those buildings. You like to get in, touch, sniff and feel those abandoned places. The high altitude and steep climbing left you somewhat breathless. Those chip monks were not very happy with you and your bare pockets. No food! LOL. I knew you would keep hiking until you found the actual mine. I wonder how they stopped the water in order to build that crude dam? Another awesome video with breath taking views. Finding incredible old doors to redo, old beams. Those old beams were hand hewn because I could see the axe marks. That damn dam was hard to get too. LOL Can you imagine having to drag that equipment and heavy beams up that mountain? And yes, that would have made an excellent outhouse. If you had sat down for a minute, those chip monks would have settled on you for a snack. Yum yum. Now I'm watching the "My Cousin Vinny" video for about the 10th time. Love your dark "shades" in this ones but prefer to see your dark eyes. Love the Cubs Cap as always.
I noticed that building you thought was an Out House, it looked like it had an electric switch on the wall inside. You were breathing pretty heavy. Thanks for all the walking, we can see how you keep in shape. Great video, as usual. Take care, Chris.
oh, my goodness! it's the wee hours of the morning and i have come to your excellent channel seeking respite from the terrors of my own Christmas past and there you are: educating us about the horrifically difficult lives of the miners and the gross unfairness with which they were treated by the mine owners who got filthy rich off of their labours........well, there went my self pity! as you know, before we had the mass media with which we share our truths and our etc, we had an amazing medium called folk music, carried from town to town by artists called bards who sang songs, recited poems and repeated our oral histories with often amazing accuracy and raw emotion. there is a delightful couple of mudlarks who have a UA-cam channel called "Let's Go With The Johnsons"....... they live in Wales where many a colliery was dug, and they lark (beachcomb) inland waterways (where towns have dumped garbage for centuries) bringing the past to life with amazing odds and ends and bitsy pieces. Phil is a retired miner and he's an excellent historian, and he relays the deep dark histories of the welch mines......and that is indeed a rescued stuffed panda bear in his pocket! a great standard of folk singers is "The Bells of Rhymney", written by Idrys Davies ( aka the Rhymney Poet) about the plight of the miner. "The Bells of Rhymney" really nails it and was put to music by Pete Seeger, arguably americas greatest folk singer, who sang it ever so powerfully. please excuse the length of this missive, our histories shouldn't be allowed to die, and i thank you for your efforts in that regard
Trying to catch up on your older videos, and am enjoying them very much. You sounded pooped out. Loved all the old buildings, won't be long until they are gone. That building sitting up on the side of the dam was not a outhouse, even back then they would not have wanted the water contaminated, and they would not put one on the side like that. Maybe as suggested from some one else here, a way to get water up. Your learning though, we never quit learning. Have a good one.
A friend and I were contracted to “somewhat” clean the inside of all the buildings here probably 5 years ago. Should’ve seen all the crap we threw away. Truly the best building is the mill, which you couldn’t go into unfortunately. Next time you’re in lc lmk, I can probably show you inside the mill.
If you imagine the water being backed up behind the dam that little building that looked like an outhouse makes sense. They probably only had to pump it up a little ways to get water.
Hi, Chris, Fantastic explore, Henson would be worth an in depth tour. At 1:35, it looks to me like the wringer from an old gas powered washing machine, and at 2:05 it looks like an old Ford tractor hood covering the engine. The structure at 8:23 appears to be the winch mechanism for a tramline. At the end, I was getting concerned that all those chipmonks were going to gang up on you and throw you down into the gorge for not having any food for them.....lol God Bless and stay safe, especially when you are at very high elevations.
As friend of mine dropped his vehicle accidentally through a old air shaft , was going along the road and plump it just dropped into the road about 8 feet straight down nose first , they got put through the rear window I here the roads are filled with these pits throughout colorado mining towns ..
Maybe a outhouse EVERYTHING would drop right into the creek 🤣 GUY FISHING DOWN STREAM " I GOT ONE " 😆👍 GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS...MAN THE AIR IS THIN UP THERE HUH FROM THE WAY YOUR BREATHING PLUS YOUR GETTING A GOOD CARDIO WORKOUT. NICE JOB BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN'S. 😎
Hi Chris, that was a really cool location and I'm guessing a happening place back in it's heyday, miners sure like to mine into mountainsides it seems. Those chipmunks are so sweet scampering around everywhere. It does make you wonder how on earth they got all of the supplies up such steep inclines as even donkeys would find it tough going. Thanks for sharing, much love. xx💖🌲🌲🍁🍂
@chris younts I don't doubt the bank will get it back eventually, Colorado is beautiful but I am staying put here in the UK, it definitely doesn't get that cold in Winter and especially here in the South West. x
You're young. And the way you are breathing, there's no way I could do that anymore. I used to, and loved it. Thanks for the videos. BTW, I did notice a camera mounted on that first (I think first) water tank you went around. Who knows if they are functional, or simply deterrence, but I'm pretty sure I saw a couple. Love your channel. I'm spending too much time watching your videos instead of working. 😂
Your at 9000ft! If you were not born at that altitude you will have problems! I live in Quito Ecuador with a elevation of 9300 ft it does affect most people
@@DramaMustRemainOnTheStage do you know a pump house is not an outhouse right I don't think you know what you're talkin about when you commented on this
Still, trying to figure out who and how they had the equipment, electricity, all the things they needed before we "supposedly" had any of those things.
I tell everyone to invest in silver because it is way way undervalued nowadays due to big bank price manipulation....if they ever let silver go to its true value, silver could go into the hundreds per ounce.
This video is mislabeled. A true ghost town is inhabited only by ghosts, no one living there. If 12 families are living in Henson town it is NOT a ghost town. A semi-ghost would be a few people or families living amongst mostly abandoned structures, but I'm not sure if Henson would even qualify as such. Proper title for this vid would be simply Exploring Ruins of 1800's Mining Camp.
I can tell by the way you are breathing that the high altitude is kicking your butt lol. I was born and raised in northern Colorado but moved 4 yrs ago. I sure do miss living there
you guys who make these videos should be be commended for the work you do well done.cheers from australia.
What an interesting area to explore. Thanks for showing us this.

Holy shit anyone else hear his heart beating from 7:19 onward?? Wth sounded like it was gonna explode lol! That must've been a heck of a hike!

Awesome exploration!
At 4:11 I lived in a home that had that same siding . My father built the house in the early 50’s.
Are they still alive? I'm gathering they have moved moved but when? What was it like for you?
I know it's not any of my business... I just find it interesting!
I wish you could do some vlogs about how you live, travel etc. Be interesting to know.
Right? I've wondered that too

Those chipmunks are freaking awesome. I used to paint huge mansions in old nc with these amazing landscapes and chipmunks everywhere

Personally I think there’s a lot in really good shape for as old as it is in that kind of an environment!
Things don't rust there like in humid climates. I was born in Colorado and live in Georgia. Big difference lol
Beautiful place
Wow what a cool place. Beautiful scenery. Sounds like it was a hard climb at that altitude though!
Go to Creede Colorado; there are a lot of old mines.
Be careful! Sounds like the altitude is getting to you. Great vid!
I live 45 minutes away from there. Very beautiful place good fishing. Its called red mountain pass in Colorado
Bruh you’re way wrong. It’s actually on engineer pass. Two years late but that’s okay. I live literally 10 mins from this place.
Loved it! Thanks, Chris
That is one big dam hole. Good vid!
That's what the fish said when he bumped into the wall...dam
Always enjoy your videos! Love to see you cover the 2016 and 2018 floods of historic Ellicott City near my home. Be safe
Gorgeous view behind you. But, as you say, I wouldn't want to spend a winter there.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water!
that's such a awesome place
Super interesting. Sounds like the air is thinnnn.
This was so cool

Pretty cool.
Amazing and beautiful! Thanks Chris for this tour! Stalked by Chip monks 😂
Really cool
Reminds me of the movie "Silent Hill". Very cool place.
For some reason, it reminds me of the camp in Pale Rider.
Awesome! Would love to visit!
You're a Prince walking the forest the chipmunks can't resist your charm.
Very Good Video - I Was In Colorado In 1978 , Hasn't Changed a Bit .. Beautiful , Of Course Now High Definition , Much Better

You need to look up "Ghost Town Living" He's pretty awesome too. I'm a new sub to you both.

Stay safe
I think they made outhouses over streams illegal in the 1920s
2:07... looks like the front end of a Ford Tractor, my Older brother has 1,from the 50's or early 60's, I think
Really interesting spot! That burst dam would have been terrifying

Brother, you alright? That breathing towards the end got me worried.
Nearly 2 miles above sea level!
Your at 9000ft! If you were not born at that altitude you will have problems! I live in Quito Ecuador with a elevation of 9300 ft it does affect most people
Cool video! It looked like the shelves in the shop were made from recycled street signs 😁
Cameras in there? Lol 😂who's gonna lock you up? The burrows
Great video. What was the name of the other location you were planning to go to, at 11,000 feet?
I guarantee that little house you found over hanging with a pump house the house that would brought up water
Yeah I'm not going to go hang my hiney off the edge lol
@@DramaMustRemainOnTheStage do you know a pump house is not an outhouse right I don't think you know what you're talkin about when you commented on this
I would be JUST as out of breath, but it would be worth the heart attack lol
I’ve never been to Colorado did your ears pop at when you’re walking around there
oh i used to live there, and god did they😭
You'd have to be part *Mountain Goat* to work that mine !
Regarding the next one youre going to at 11,000ft, is it Animas Forks?
If so, its really cool & they allow you to go in the buildings.
I was born in Delta Colorado ❣️💯‼️‼️
My Great Great Uncle was a Gold Miner❣️
Thanks for the view, you sounded out of breath. Don’t get me wrong I would be breathing hard as well. Be careful.
Chris, all the king's chipmunks and all the... Good vid! I'd rather soil myself than use that outhouse!
pumping water up to mines for hydro mining / digging ?
cool !
It would be interesting to see where that app Randonautica would take you.
WOW CHRIS,9+K FT KICKED YOUR BUTT BRO.STEEP INCLINES BE CAREFUL GOING TO 11-12K FT!GREAT JOB BRO! YOU TAKE IT EASY! STAY WELL
Does anyone have any co-ordinates for the burst dam?
Nice
🌴🌴🇮🇳🌴🌴
i was there 2 weeks after you
That looks an awful lot like a red belly Ford hood and engine at the first of the video.
Still, trying to figure out who and how they had the equipment, electricity, all the things they needed before we "supposedly" had any of those things.
They used the water that was damned up!
That's a big Damn hole 😅🤣
you are polite...
timber milled and hand howed right from the land
Hey Chris, you're at 9000ft. Who is "they?" and WHERE are "they?" Are "THEY" up there with you? If so, are "They" dangerous??
❤️
Sounds like you either need to get adjusted to the thin air up there or have to do a little more cardio lol just picken!
Haha probably both
Are you repeating they because you are in trouble are they holding you hostage🤣
It's a pump house I kept yelling at you trying to tell you, then realizing that it's youtube and that I'm also really high.
Your breathing heavy like you walked up a mountain whats up with that?
Sarcasm. I love your videos
I tell everyone to invest in silver because it is way way undervalued nowadays due to big bank price manipulation....if they ever let silver go to its true value, silver could go into the hundreds per ounce.
That’s why the Indians were sensible because they moved with the seasons
There's gold there
👍✌
SO WHO OWNS THIS ABANDONED AREA
What's been your biggest wtf moment?
Heavy breathing. :-D
😏 Life above 9,000 feet. You need to keep nut bars for the chipmunks and donkeys
