No, people died earlier during those days due to lack of antibiotics and antivirals or vaccine.
The old menthods are great and Western medicine too.
As a migraine sufferer, I can attest to the efficacy of blocking off dominant nostril to change the flow of breath. I learned this many years ago and use it every time I feel a migraine coming on. Works like a charm :)

U can try acupressure, some eyes exercise and panch krma kriya for detoxification that will help u to improve eyesight, and diet is very important
