      That was a horrible call!!! They did that for one reason and that is they did not want the public to see how an innocent (only charged) man was treated BEFORE being found guilty!!

    • @WelshChappie
      @WelshChappie Місяць тому +6

      It wasn't just the trial itself that was not made public, it was literally everything surrounding the case from Gag orders on everyone involved from law enforcement to trial attorneys, PCA's sealed from public view, the ability to even put up a defence at trial at all was taken away from the defendant by the Judge who literally ruled that RA could not use the TOGDI or that other guy did it defence so essentially he was not allowed to say the crime was committed by someone other than him.
      The violation of constitutional and human rights in His case are absolutely outrageous and If the Indiana Supreme Court and/or US Supreme Court does not award him at a min, a new trial with a new fair and impartial judge who holds an open court so all can view the case and evidence themselves to make their own minds up if the conviction is safe should he be convicted then I don't know why the Supreme Court exists.
      If his case and rights have not met the level of vacating, over turning or throwing out of a conviction, then no case does. Personally, I would like to see the USSC do what it should have done last time and remove judge Gull, question the ethical practice of Nick's office and above all, slap Doug Carter with a rainbow trout right in the chops and tell him to STFU!

    • @southernrose48
      @southernrose48 Місяць тому

      @WelshChappie It is very apparent you and so many others do not remember Judge Gull attempted to allow cameras in the courtroom in the beginning, The media she allowed did not follow the rules of the court so it was evident her attempt was in vain. Allen's defense team made a circus out of his case and completely disrespected and disregarded so many court rules it is disgusting. Many cases involving juveniles are kept sealed until after trial, some never unsealed.

    • @juniorjohnson5961
      @juniorjohnson5961 Місяць тому

      I think what she ( Judge Gull) was trying to do was keep Baldwin & Rozzi from turning the trial into a spectacle. They knew this case was huge & used social media to turn this case into something it wasn't. They were hoping for a televised trial & looking for fame & fortune. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't have a book or movie deal i think that's what they were after.

  • @BF2391

    Why is he making this about himself? Law enforcement clearly messed up, allowing a dangerous man to walk the streets for too many years. People talked about it online… that’s what people do… I know his feelings were hurt but get over it, or if it gets to you so much that you had to turn a post-sentencing press conference into your own soapbox rather than speaking of the victims, then perhaps consider a different line of work.
    This was not the time for venting about all the drama and gossip that went on and how it affected HIM, nor the time for defending his and his colleague’s actions. Super unprofessional and slightly unhinged in my honest opinion. This should have been a moment to remember and celebrate justice for the victims, not to air out your grievances over conspiracy theories.

    Doug Carter is despicable as a professional in law enforcement. The criminal justice system only works if defense attorneys vigorously defend their clients so that their constitutional right to have the prosecution prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt is ensured. No one loves defense attorneys who have to defend murderers. Family members of the victims are justified in having angry feelings because of the human toll such crimes take on them. Law enforcement is not justified in this kind of anger toward defense attorneys and publicly denouncing them.
    Doug Carter was never emotionally capable of doing this job. He made the whole thing about himself and his group of other officers from the start. He wasted our time at the 2019 press conference speaking in riddles about his religious feelings, some nonsense about "the Shack" and made it seem he was impacted more by these murders than anyone else, including the family. Now he's at it again -- its all about him, how offended he feels at the defense attorneys and how the public can hate him if they want, blah, blah, blah. My heart hurts for this family having to deal with such incompetence and confusion on top of the horrible crimes and pain they feel over losing those girls.

    • @skinovtheperineum1208
      @skinovtheperineum1208 Місяць тому +1

      Wrong. The justice system would work much more efficiently if BOTH SIDES strove for one goal: justice. To have guilty people let go because of some crafty manipulation of words or rules is not justice. If a defense lawyer knows his or her client is guilty, it is a mockery of justice to have them fight tooth and nail to get their client off. You'd better clear your head and hit reset on that train of thought because the word justice does not mean dodging justice in any sense.

      Nonsense. 12 JURORS convicted RA, NO ONE ELSE, in only 18 hours of deliberation, unanimously, without internal differences. The many details of circumstantial evidence is overwhelming. Only 7 of RA's 61 confessions were allowed. The white van, down the hill, cross the creek, the box cutter with specific details, even LE did not know until before the trial.
      But what is poignantly overwhelming is the Recyling CLICK that can be heard from the gun on Libby's video. The menacing sound no doubt terrified the girls. The bullet from that recycle and RA's gun matched. They are NOT DNA but close to it. The defense had ZERO other real suspects, all of which LE vetted anyway, every one of them. NOT evidence is that the Jury watched RA roll his eyes provocatively throughout the trial. RA knew he was done.

If this case was factored measurably early on, Richard Allen would have been a suspect within weeks. I mean, really, the verdict, while just, took way too long.

    I would feel a massive sense of relief if I honestly thought they had the right guy. Having followed up close the day by day reporting of lawyers who travelled to Delphi to report in depth all the goings on I am in no way convinced that Richard Allen is guilty of this crime. It's too long to go into on a short comment ,and outrage over the crime itself is of course totally understandable as it was gruesome and horrendous.
    I just feel that this case was poorly investigated to put it mildly and yes I do think there was a wish to convict someone. The problem is that you cannot just convict that wrong person and think that is an acceptable resolution. It is my opinion that Richard Allen and his family have been put through hell by this. The judge made it nigh on impossible for people to get any real insight and like I say only Andrea Burkhart and Lawyer Lee and one or two others who sat in court day in day out and made copious notes could provide us with the true picture.
    I sincerely hope that Richard Allen wins his appeal and my heart goes out to everyone; the victim's family's of course but also to Richard Allen and his family.

Red flags should have been going off in that officer's head. Police should have reviewed everyone at the bridge again within weeks. yes, a clerical error was made but it should have been reviewed earlier.
