- In this video the travel turtles visit Bugibba Beach and Town Square, St. Paul's Bay, Malta. We visited here for a day trip with our granddaughter during our stay in Mellieha. This is a large village in the Northern region of Malta and is a popular resort, known for its sandy beaches and natural environment. We definitely recommend visiting if you plan on going to Malta anytime soon.

I was pretty shocked to see how much has changed since I was there in the 80s and 90s. I especially miss the old English buses with air conditioing (holes in the floor) where you simply weren't sure if the bus would make it to the top of the hill - but it always did. I had some great times there. Bugibba was like English seaside towns were in the 60s, and because all my grandparents lived at the seaside, going to Bugibba was like travelling back to the past. I used to love watching the bingo, where the caller used all the English "nicknames" for the numbers like "two fat ladies - 88" but spoken in the most wonderful Maltese accent.
Going out to the cafes for some food was a bit like the Monty Python "spam" sketch. You could have bacon, egg,s beans, sausages and fried bread with beans and beans on top 😬
Great memories. Lovely people.
I was here 83 looks so different. Remember the little lizards darting about and the busses in Valletta. Sea is still beautiful👍
this place as changed a lot since the 1970s and early 1980s still love the place and people brings back lovely memories with family look forward to returning one day soon

Rocky not beaches
I holidayed in Malta several times in the early to late 80's as a young teen with my parents. Loved it, as did my parents. I remember staying here too. My dad went back last year and said it was the worst holiday he had ever had. Rough as rats now. Such a shame as I would like have liked to have gone back for the memories.
Interesting to hear. We make 4k city walks and were about to go, but you've made me think twice.
@@xlbubblehead2505 your on drugs mate, malta is lovely
Malta is beautiful Island. Don't know what you are talking about.
@@susanhill8332 Malta is indeed beautiful, I've been many, many times however it is fair to say Bugiba and parts of St.Pauls have seen better days...but agreed it is most definitely not 'rough as rats'
