They’re worried about CC’s fans? FFS…what a lame excuse, and if it’s what they truly believe, I gotta question their credibility and professionalism. What do they think the fans are gonna do? 😂😂😂
There is a good argument that CC is one of the best 12 women’s basketball players in the world. So she has got to be one of the best 12 in the USA. This is similar to what the US national soccer team has done for years. 40 year olds who feel entitled to the spots get them instead of younger better players.
@AfrikanLifestyle Clark tied a WNBA rookie record with seven three-pointers, joining Crystal Robinson as the only players to make that many shots from behind the arc in their first year in the league. Following Indiana's win over the Sky, Clark joined Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu as the only players in WNBA history to record 150 points, 50 rebounds and 50 assists in their first 10 games.
Also was reported Cheryl Reeves ,Lynx coach who's input carries a lot of weight with the Olympic committee might have had something to do with it. She's already was mad cause Fever got 36 televised games and Lynx didn't.
Imagine the response if, like the US World Cup team and their wonder girl, Rappinhoe, the US Olympic Women’s Basketball team comes home without Clark and without a gold medal.
She has to earn her dual citizenship first before she can be with the Canadian team, but I see your fantasy, though the Canadian team needs to include Aliyah Edwards (Univ. of Connecticut, Washington Mystics rookie) and teen phenom Toby Fournier?
Interesting that back in Dream Team days the committee chose Christian Laettner. Great for him to be chosen and good experience for him, even if he didn’t play much. Now we have a college player of the year getting ignored. Clark will have her chance but wow the idiocy in the committee here, this is about promoting Women’s basketball.
How does USA Basketball leave CC off the Olympic roster??? They don’t want to capitalize on this moment and give the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history an Olympic roster spot so she can help elevate the game with even more visibility by attracting new fans with her hard work, desire, humility, and teamwork? She is currently living out the American dream and doing it with CLASS! She is the epitome of an American AMBASSADOR in the game of basketball right now, men or women, and USA Basketball doesn’t want her representing our country’s team???? She led her Iowa team to back-to-back national championship games … you know how hard that is to do??? … She is bringing 20,000+ ticket buyers to her WNBA games (a league record) because of her STYLE of play … every basketball fan in the world loves long-range jump shots … pushing the ball up ahead and setting up teammates with beautiful assists … not to mention the TV ratings her games garner …. or all her #22 merchandise that’s selling off the shelves …. she’s unbelievably professional with the media, unbelievably kind with the fans especially the young ones who adore her (both boys and girls) - she has RESPECT for her opponents, coaches, for the game itself … and has displayed so much gratitude and humility for the support and adulation. All these reasons is why she’s so popular … She’s having a great rookie season in her first couple of months as a pro … probably much better than most anticipated she would by this stage … it just makes absolutely no strategic sense (business or otherwise) to leave CC off the Olympic roster. Who are the decision makers? There’s no way us basketball fans will watch this Summer Olympics if she’s not on the team … they’re giving spots to players who have already had their turn on the Olympic squad multiple times and are has-beens and should be retired by now … while CC, the most popular player in America who flat-out produces on the court and represents our country better than anyone under extreme scrutiny and pressure sits at home? She’s worked her ass off to get to this point … she’s earned her opportunity to be an Olympian!!!!
So an all-star player is now considered “a distraction”? Yes, just like Jordan, Woods, Magic, Bird. These “distractions” are taking away all the attention from the rest of the mediocre players. I won’t be watching the Olympics. I’ll be distracted by golf tournaments.
If the USA Women’s Basketball Olympic Committee wants major television viewership, then the whole team should be overhauled to include newer pro and college players. Younger fans want to see Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Aliyah Boston, Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cordoso, Diamond Miller, Rickea Jackson, Haley Jones, DiJonai Carrington, Maddy Siegrist, plus some veterans that never played in the Olympics like Sabrina Ionescu, Kayla McBride, Kelsey Mitchell and Rhyne Howard. I would suggest past Olympic veterans to at least give other players the chance to win a gold medal for our country.
That makes no sense! Cos fans are most upset that she’s not on the team. More then they would been if she got little minutes. They don’t know how many minutes she would have played anyway.
Therefore, I won’t watch any coverage whatsoever of women’s Olympic basketball. So, I guess it’s my reaction to CC having ZERO minutes of playing time.
There's no discussion. This is an excuse, a rationalisation, a lie. *No-one* deals with concerns that fans might be disappointed by how much time their player spends on the bench, BY NOT TAKING HER TO THE FUCKING GAMES AT ALL. This is a story that someone came up with in a Zoom meeting and everyone went with it without realising how fucking stupid it would sound when it got out into daylight.
I'm so happy for CC that she did not get picked to be on the Olympic squad. She would have been miserable having to be around and try to play with a bunch of players and coach who hate her. She doesn't need the Olympics they need her and again I'm so happy for her that she does not have to deal with a bunch of nasty woman!
They should have chosen both Clark and Reese. Start the vets and put the younger players in games where the USA gets a big lead to give them experience.
I'm British but even here we can see that Clarke has been left out because She's White, Straight, loves her Country and is b(loody) good. Its probably a good thing shes been left out for two reasons first of all the jealous, lesbian, racists wouldn't pass to her and second the team would have to explain why they deliberately injured one of their own team.

Read all of these comments and you will understand. Most of you all don't realize that she's not a star yet with her skills. Yes, she's popular, and could shot a three, but competing with the best, she's not ready yet.
They’re worried about CC’s fans? FFS…what a lame excuse, and if it’s what they truly believe, I gotta question their credibility and professionalism. What do they think the fans are gonna do? 😂😂😂
Caitlin is the queen bee. The hive moves whereever she goes.
There is a good argument that CC is one of the best 12 women’s basketball players in the world. So she has got to be one of the best 12 in the USA. This is similar to what the US national soccer team has done for years. 40 year olds who feel entitled to the spots get them instead of younger better players.
That man Rapinoe was only on the team for his activism. Even got benched for “injuries”!!
There are at least 15 current WNBA players with better overall numbers than CC. Including 19 year veteran 41 year old Diana Turasi.
@@AfrikanLifestyle But Clark is popular, and popularity should determine who is in the Olympics!
@@Budman_4044 Yep. She’s a good rookie.
With Geno making the sports show rounds saying CC game isn’t built for physical play probally didnt help
Odd timing right there, huh..??
Hmmmmm.
He is Diana Taursi's coach
Also was reported Cheryl Reeves ,Lynx coach who's input carries a lot of weight with the Olympic committee might have had something to do with it. She's already was mad cause Fever got 36 televised games and Lynx didn't.
Imagine the response if, like the US World Cup team and their wonder girl, Rappinhoe, the US Olympic Women’s Basketball team comes home without Clark and without a gold medal.
i would like to watch them play against canada with caitlyn clark playing for canada instead.
She's not a top 12 player, where is the shock?. Unverified story is just rage bait. They know you clark fans will overreact
Now when viewership is down you know they will call racism rather than their hatred for Caitlin.
Hey CC do you have any Canadian connection? We will take you with open arms.
She has to earn her dual citizenship first before she can be with the Canadian team, but I see your fantasy, though the Canadian team needs to include Aliyah Edwards (Univ. of Connecticut, Washington Mystics rookie) and teen phenom Toby Fournier?
@@gregpaspatis9425 it was a joke
I have no doubt that is a lie. I think the other players complained.
Then blaming the fans is like Disney blaming their fans for their failures!
That’s wild to me! Right is right and wrong is wrong
Just remember it doesn’t matter who’s at fault just don’t watch just like every other woman’s game before CC
They cant keep up, its too fast for them LOL
"This is nuts." Yeah, that about covers it.
That makes no sense! Cos fans are most upset that she’s not on the team. More then they would been if she got little minutes. They don’t know how many minutes she would have played anyway.
I like her offensive game but I'm not upset about it
A CC fan here. We can support CC without supporting the WNBA.
Dave portnoy says it BEST watch his two minute clip.
Thanks!
Thought the Olympic Games were drug free? Allowing a convicted international drug smuggler and user to play? WTF! Go America!
no one watches womens rugby volleyball. everyone watches caitlin who shoots hoops.
You can’t argue with this logic because it’s to insane and stupid to know where to start.
Why aren't people starting off to do the right thing to begin with...the official roster will be released on Tuesday I guess...CC hopefully gets on that... it's all the backtracking that I'm tired of from these woke people
This is racist!
How, When a black player who is much better in every facet of the game than Caitlin Clark was left off in Arike Ogumbawale
@@ChadMosley-u8f black people always playing victim but don’t like it when the tables are turned quit being racist against white people if arike was so good they could’ve left griner out but that wouldn’t fit the narrative
@@ChadMosley-u8fif Clark was black would the W be getting all this attention? Would Iowa have been invited to the white house?
How is it racists when they have white women on the team? Make it make sense
@@ChadMosley-u8f what player is better in every facet of the game? There is no better shooter than CC in the WNBA. And Griner should not be on any international team.
I hope they lose every game.
