I agree, there's quite a few websites that break down ingredients that are beneficial & others that wreak havoc now or later (like hormone adjusters) but the main thing is to know where the 5% line is, if there's a crap ton of ingredients, the top five are the main ingredients & then the rest can be as little as 0.1%. To be fair, some are supposed to be in small quantities, like retinoids (start of low & work up to 2%) or you'll know that 5% line if say, a product tells you exactly how much of what is in it, like the Ordinary's AHA/BHA facial chemical exfoliant that's 20%/2% & is suspended in binders, preservatives, etc. Sorry, in a skincare binge.
Yo this is late but download an app called think dirty where u search up the product and it tells you if it has bad ingredients, very helpful and convenient!

Just a tip: As someone who has REALLY struggled with cystic acne, my dermatologist recommends Cetaphil or Cerave face washes!! These are the most gentle, and while you may think you need something more “intense” to clean your skin, those products tend to do more harm than good.
For some reason my skin would get really itchy, and irritated from using Cetaphil and cerave. I would get like a burning sensation on my face and then it would get itchy. I really wished it would've worked for me tho.
I never really paid attention to ingredient list on certain products, but ever since I started watching these videos I have done a mass sweep on my beauty cabinet
