KP last year was basically a jump shooter with some put-backs off broken plays. The reason is he lacks lower-body strength to hold his own in the post. He is so tall, his center of gravity is way too high and smaller guys simply push under him. He needs to add 15-20 pound of muscle strength in his legs and back to hold his own. THEN, he will be explode offensively because he will be able to mix up post up moves and outside shooting. I see him averaging 25-30 pts and 9-10 rebs when he fully develops.
if you think that by just removing Melo, KP will turn into a 30pt player, you are way off. I don't like Melo, but he was good for KP's offensive game because he was drawing a lot of opposing teams' defensive focus. Now, KP will be #1 target and KP simply doesn't have any go-to moves. He has his 3pt shot. He can do put backs and alleyoops and execute pick-and-roll.... but one-on-one, not to mention double-teamed, he has no game because he has no strength to post up.
