The most incredible thing about this video is that damn near every block he gets the Knicks gained a possession, none of that spiking the ball to the third row crap. He can also stay with point guards because he has incredible length and absurd lateral quickness for someone who is 7'3.
Great job evin. His agility is what mostly leads to him getting a lot of blocks.(of course being 7'3 helps as well). He has a high iq on the defensive end
The guys that are isolating against him are able to get and make the shot over 95+% of the opponents they face, so if they've been successful at it, it is not "dense" to challenge against Porzingis. Most players don't have KP's ability, and 7'3" aren't usually that mobile, agile, or have as good hand-eye coordination. Isaiah Thomas from the Celtics was able to get his shot off against Porzingis surprisingly well. But I guess he has had more practice than most at getting good attempts off against taller people using quickness, cunning and skill.
Look at how many players that have challenged him and failed even the best player. The guy is right and it's because of your last sentence that's why the shouldn't iso on him
one of the best paint defenders already. you will shoot 9% less at the rim and 7% worse in the paint when gaurded by him. great rim protector still needs to improve perimeter defence
+Master Mo well his help defense was awesome, but not expect him to guard an elite guard all game, so perimeter defense is not his priority. Maybe he can improve more on his strength and mid range jumper, since he already had a great footwork and skills
Lim Ken you have to be able gaurd these perimeter shooting big men and contest shots well enough on pick and rolls. perimiter defence is important because of pick and roll prevalence. but paint defence come first
His lateral movement and agility are unseen For a guy his size. That first block on Parker..how many times have you seen Parker lose guys with that spin move? This 20 yr old kid was all over it. Parker didn't have a chance. Wow.
awesome, I've been waiting for this! great video. I look forward to this kid hopefully having some backcourt teammates that aren't matadors on defense in the future.
3:48 amazing recovery from a 7'3 guy. There's not many players his size who can stumble like that without falling while still staying with the play & blocking the shot. KP is a star in the making, KNICKSTAPE!
Hey guys. Back again to show some love to NobyuS (link below). It got a little attention when I posted it in the comments section last week, so I figured I'd do it again. Check em out and enjoy! soundcloud.com/nobyus
absolutely right. indeed very good footwork, coordination and bball iq for when how to move. he is able to block anyone. that guy is starting to be scary:D
I know this is a weird comparison but he reminds me a lot of KG on defense. Tall and skinny with quick feet to stay in front of point guards and not afraid to dive for loose balls AND he can run the court with the small guys.
don't get me wrong I love all of his blocks but how about the fact that he was at least able to keep up with the faster guards and block them like Walker Westbrook Paul lillard
Great video. A lot of the videos on Porzingis just focuses on his offense. His real impact on the game is his ability to defend the rim and rebound. His rebounding was inconsistent last year, but the Knicks were at their best (around .500) when he was grabbing around 11.5 RPG for a stretch. If free agents are smart, they'll want to come to the Knicks, not because of Carmelo, Rose, or the market size. They should want to play with the 20 yr old Porzingis, who could be an Anthony Davis caliber player in a few years. Dynasties are built around defensive anchors. If he can stay healthy, he should become of the most the versatile and 'impactful' players in the NBA. He could score from anywhere on the court. He defend from anywhere on the court. He protects the rim. He could control the defensive glass, and also attack the offensive glass. He could make smart passes (critical in the triangle) and make good offensive decisions (although he is prone to chuck too many 3s). And his physical tools (height/length) isn't something that you can teach. If the Knicks are able to turn the franchise around, it would likely be due to him. His scoring production may be hindered playing with Anthony, Rose, and whatever big name free agent they attract this/next off-season, but he'll still have the ability to dominate on the offensive when needed. He needs to get stronger (not necessarily heavier) to be more effective on the block and for durability purposes, work on fouling less, and get more consistent on the glass (and his jumper).
I absolutely love these videos. The time and effort that you put into these is incredibly evident, starting from the summary to the examples that you put in the footage. Thank you so much! Quick question, do you plan on updating any of the videos that you have made up to now? I am in love with your defensive highlights especially. Especially, watching guys like Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Smart, and Avery Bradley play defense.
Absolutely. I already have a Kawhi follow up, but there will be more. As for the Boston players, I love watching them play but it's getting clips that's difficult. When I have enough, yes, there will be updates for Bradley & Smart
I love your videos. Could you make Stephen curry's finishes around the rims please?? He is the greatest shooter ever, but also his finishes around the rim is too good. I think this is a key why he dominates the league right now.
Yup yup.Been likin him since draft. Not bullshitin.7'3",a really good shooter in the post and perimeter, not afraid to get down low,not too skinny, toughness, maturity, poise, nimble on his feet, high defense IQ and a really good shot blocker. His greatest asset is by far is shooting ability and that type of height.Even though KAT might be better than KP when its all said and done,Kristaps will be something special.
you should look into doing a kentavious caldwell pope defense video. Very underrated perimeter defender, matches up with the opponents best offensive player on a nightly basis
Please please pleaaase make a video about Enes Kanter finishing on the inside. He's a great scorer off the bench and basically Westbrook's security blanket. Awesome offensive rebounder as well.
@8:30...Why is my man KP blocking three pointers with 4 seconds left with the Knicks up by 5? I'm sure coach wasn't feeling that lmao. Those blocks on Teague and Oladipo though? Savagery. Access denied to the Unicorn temple.
The Knicks biggest positive next season isn't all the additions to the team. It's KP's pregression from a foreign 20 yr old to a bigger , stronger seasoned second year player who did way more than hold is own in season 1. He is gonna be 1.a on the next impact scale next season.
hey just a question im wondering about, is it considered cheap or bad to dive on the floor to get the ball? imo what ever works and as long as u get it its fine what do others think?
Sasuke Uchiha Honestly that's one of those calls that can go either way and it personally depends on the refs. But they've also been told to ease up on calling that on defensive players in the recent years because of people like Dwade, Stoudemire, Greg Monroe, Carmelo Anthony and James harden using that pump fake heavily to draw fouls, especially in the past
crazy thing is when Noah and porzingis it can set up their offense in transition with Rose and Melo ahead of the pack to get some easy points so I expect the knicks offense to flourish this upcoming season
just look at his blocks it helped the Knicks set up their transition offense and with a athletic point guard like Rose and a scorer like melo that's going to help the Knicks a lot
+GrooTheWanderer80 calderon is from spain, no mexico, two diferents country. The us and england are diferent aren't they?? In fact england is neighbor of span, you can check a map if you want
+GrooTheWanderer80 jajaja maybe, the problem is the money and who want to play for the knicks, probably in the future we won't see an alite pg in new york for several seasons
The most incredible thing about this video is that damn near every block he gets the Knicks gained a possession, none of that spiking the ball to the third row crap. He can also stay with point guards because he has incredible length and absurd lateral quickness for someone who is 7'3.
Paradite a la Bill Russell
@@usnate1 yeah pretty much

Dude, Mavs need THIS Porzingis!
This kid doesn't fear anyone. Tough, smart, and on offense...whoo.
I think he can be a really special player.
I don't know but i got goosebumps watching this :)
Unbelievable athleticism for a 7’3 man Porziņģis is a beast the unicorn making himself known
KP is a hunter waiting for his prey. I'm amazed how dense some of his opponents are. Note to self: do not iso on the 7'3" guy.
The guys that are isolating against him are able to get and make the shot over 95+% of the opponents they face, so if they've been successful at it, it is not "dense" to challenge against Porzingis. +bgizzletelevizzle24 Thats probly true
amazing how agile this guy is at 7 feet
if i had a dollar for everytime they said "blocked by porzingus"
Issac McGann Last season porzingis donated 500$ for each block he did to disabled children...
@@rrrudziite that’s amazing
if he played like this on the mavs wed be title contenders

+Archangel Dant W
He's smart, knows how to read his opponent's move and utilizes his body really well. If I were his teammate I couldn't ask for more.
I have a tear in my eye watching this.
That jump timing is sick. Great defensive IQ.
man can this guy play defense or what! he's gonna become one of the best players in the NBA no doubt in my mind.

Frank ,KP, Mitchell are gonna have us top 10 defense next year
What I really love about that channel is that there are no trolls. You can be proud about it
Niklas Sticher Any trolls would be "Blocked by Porzingis!" anyway
If he gets Bionic knees and this KP returns, MVP caliber player
3:48 amazing recovery from a 7'3 guy. There's not many players his size who can stumble like that without falling while still staying with the play & blocking the shot. KP is a star in the making, KNICKSTAPE!
hes not just long he was good anticipation and he gets off the ground fast. insane
really enjoy the videos man, thanks for compiling these!

Most people at 7 ft 3 are very slow or don't have great footwork but he moves like a damn guard out there
absolutely right. indeed very good footwork, coordination and bball iq for when how to move. he is able to block anyone. that guy is starting to be scary:D
Simply the art of defense and strong plays🫡🫡
Mike Breen has been incredible this past season. "Blocked by Porzingis!"
Definitely future all defensive team
im impressed not only by his size, but his rarely short reaction time
I know this is a weird comparison but he reminds me a lot of KG on defense. Tall and skinny with quick feet to stay in front of point guards and not afraid to dive for loose balls AND he can run the court with the small guys.
Good comparison there, but I think young KG was quicker than KP.
those hassle plays, diving for the ball make me even respect this kid more..
im impressed.
don't get me wrong I love all of his blocks but how about the fact that he was at least able to keep up with the faster guards and block them like Walker Westbrook Paul lillard
Adam Rimler exactly, that's why this young man is very rare and special

I love these vids i would love to see one of winslow , wiggins , Kat
+J Trece I'm working on the Wolves videos, but Heat games have been increasingly difficult to get so Winslow will probably take a little longer
the great thing about his blocks are that he keeps the ball in play to his teammates. bill russell the goat post defender did this too
Porzingis is a very good on ball defender..he can steal and block, and his presence is intimidating
I absolutely love these videos. The time and effort that you put into these is incredibly evident, starting from the summary to the examples that you put in the footage. Thank you so much!

Glad phil didnt lose his damn mind and actually traded porzingis during draft day
From this video his defensive rotation looks perfect

This kid is special. If the Jazz can have a front court that boasts Him and Gobert, they can go very deep into the playoffs. No doubt about it!
Hopefully one day he'll be making clutch blocks in the Finals.
Please please pleaaase make a video about Enes Kanter finishing on the inside. He's a great scorer off the bench and basically Westbrook's security blanket. Awesome offensive rebounder as well.
Can you make Antetokounpo passing video?

Knicks gonna be a champion.
Let's try and drive and attempt a lay up over the the 7'3" guy
The Knicks biggest positive next season isn't all the additions to the team. It's KP's pregression from a foreign 20 yr old to a bigger , stronger seasoned second year player who did way more than hold is own in season 1. He is gonna be 1.a on the next impact scale next season.

8:17 best one
Knicks will win a championship with Porzingis because has championship mindset and skills to take The Knicks there.
2 years later he on the mavs lol
this dudes D is crazy! but I feel that his Offense is stronger tbh, this guy is waayyy to athletic for his size
porzingis should get eraser and dunk swatter in 2k
Beast
Cant wait for lonzo ball to be on here 😎
Wow
It’s quite scary that Joakim Noah and porzingis would be a defensive duo
He reminds me of a young rookie Toni Kukoc.. :)
can you please do Allen Iverson?
blockzingis, miraclezingis, supermanzingis, all day zingis, i love zingis, what a zingis, beztzingis.. my white man zingis...whatever u say its Zingis
how come it was a foul at 6:59 didnt kp jump on top of him basically
he went straight up and the other guy initiated contact
actually if u look at it, the guy was standing still and kp went more on him than verticaly
Sasuke Uchiha Honestly that's one of those calls that can go either way and it personally depends on the refs. Dis dudes a wizard on d!
nice
MVP caliber player and was only a rookie
Wingspan goes a long way on defense
Blocked by Porzingis!
KP🦄
7'6 wingspan 0.0
Why he rebound like a guard though, 7'3 dude need to go grab 12 boards a game.
Unicorn💖
Its a block party bb....
Still got space for improvements. He buys pumpfakes at pretty cheap price. When he gets rid of bad habit of leaving his feet.....oh boy, watch out
before they vomit this guy and now you reap his effort!
And now you match KP with Joakim Noah! 🙊 Calling it now, Knicks will lead the league in block shots & be top 10 in defense. 💯
crazy thing is when Noah and porzingis it can set up their offense in transition with Rose and Melo ahead of the pack to get some easy points so I expect the knicks offense to flourish this upcoming season
just look at his blocks it helped the Knicks set up their transition offense and with a athletic point guard like Rose and a scorer like melo that's going to help the Knicks a lot
Watch Knicks management find a way to fuck this up. :(

+elmascabron naaah, the Knicks have money to spend this summer. They'll get a good point guard. Money talks in the NBA.
and Phil Jackson wants trade this guy
KP might just surpass Duncan
his defense far exceeds his offense...
