  • Ready for more really cool stuff? Today, I'm checking out the Auvon TENS unit available on Amazon.
This TENS unit from Auvon is designed to essentially do two things: 1 - overstimulate the nervous system to help drown out some of the nerve and muscle pain you may be experiencing, and 2 - trigger your body to release endorphins for a natural pain relief.
The real question, though, is does it work? I tend to get terrible nerve pain at the top of my spine. I've been massaging it regularly and stretching and still getting no relief. I tested the Auvon TENS unit on either side of the top of my spine, turned the machine on let it run for about 10 minutes at intensity level 3. Several days later and the pain is almost completely gone still.
If you've never seen a TENS unit in action or need a little better clarity as to what it can do and how safe electrical stimulation is, check out my video review of the Auvon TENS-EMS unit!
    Here's my full review: allthingsfadra.com/auvon-tens...

    Really Cool Stuff Overview
    Overall rating: A

For a relatively low price (compared to others in the market), this is a great investment that I never knew you could take advantage of at home!

One of my cons for this unit is that there are so many settings and there is no way to know what pattern each one generates. It's just a hit-and miss sort of thing. Also, when moving between the settings, the intensity always reverts down to 0, so if you are trying to find the best setting for you, you have to keep increasing the intensity and you can't just hold down the button, you have to click on the + button multiple times. It's a pain in the butt to figure out what the settings should be.

After reading alot of the comments of your posted video I feel it would be redundant too express what I intended to express in comments..so let me say only this; rarely do I find such articulate & well informed information on UA-cam..well done. I was already going to buy this same TENS UNIT however I was leery in my purchase being that I've never used a TENS. FYI your post has dwindled my hesitancy immensely. Thank you & God bless

Hi, can you use this on your lower back and neck at the same time? Mine arrived in the post a couple of days ago, but I have only figured out how to do one area. I put 2 of the smaller pads on my lower back for sciatica, but being a permanent wheelchair I get regular shoulder/neck pain, so I put one of the longer pads across my shoulder blades, but I am still only feeling it on my lower back. Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Don’t be scared! It’s great with nerve pain! My husband likes a lot of power. I like just a touch. So go slow until you feel what you want to feel. My only caution is to NOT remove the pads while the current is flowing or you will get a mild shock (as intended). I unknowingly tried to adjust a pad and found out the hard way.

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  2 роки тому

I’ve recently started seeing a chiropractor again and it’s helped. I think the first thing is to figure out the cause of the tension (is it postural? is it physical?) But I found that it is helpful for specific pain like when I get a nerve punch in my upper back. And it also helps with general shoulder tension.

    Hi there,
Please answer my question. Do you feel it just like an electricity or is it like a massage? Because I was getting therapy in a hospital and it's like a thumb pushing your back, spinning around, going up and down and I really impressed with that. I feel like a ghost massaging me. Haha
But before that, I also had a therapy in another hospital but it's only like some electricity in my body.
    Thanks

It does not feel like a massage at all. I wish I could find something to recreate a true massage! This feels like a small electrical pulse. It’s a weird, hard to describe feeling. I keep it at a low setting but my husband cranks it up! It’s really helps for problematic muscles.

I haven’t tried it but I would imagine it could have an effect. I would look up insomnia and acupressure or acupuncture. Once you find the right areas, I would try the TENS unit in those locations.

They definitely relax your muscles and I've heard that the electronic pulses cause you to release endorphins.

Just a Warning: I found this out the hard way. If it comes unplugged from the device while it's on your skin (say due to moving) DO NOT plug it back in until you turn it off. It will shock the crap out of you if you plug it back in while it's on and attached to your skin.

    • @Allthingsfadra

That goo on the pads is conducting electricity and you will get shocked! It was my own stupid fault but I won’t make that mistake twice!
