My first go at this boss, I was Shinx and my partner was Turtwig. You may know that these two have somewhat limited movepools. So limited, in fact, that neither can learn a super effective attack against Dialga. However, knowing slightly more than nothing about the game when I played it, I brought every Reviver Seed I had, having saved them up throughout literally the entire game (being my first playthrough, though, it only amounted to about ten. And I was level 40, max. For reference, in my latest playthrough, I had twenty and was level 50). Also in my latest run, I brought a couple Violent Seeds for my partner Mudkip so he could spam Hydro Pumps, completely forgetting that he knew Dig-but he remembered, and managed to get one hit off for 400 damage. Fun fact: Dialga has more than 400 hp! Good thing I brought a page of Reviver Seeds, because the literal next hit he one shot me with a Roar of Time (he missed Mudkip, though, who didn’t die throughout the entire fight, but only got that one hit off because of Intimidator being a stupid).
Ah yes the full bag of reviver seeds strategy. I'm surprised you were able to hit a 400 dmg move on dialga... I guess the level helps. I was only at level 40+ and most of the work was with cyndaquil and smokescreen lol. Also helps to force your partner to only use one of its moves per turn so you can sorta control them manually too. Being turtwig is a pain tho youre right, no good attacks at all against Dialga.
i got turtwig as well, i used up all my reviver seeds in temporal tower so i had to fight dialga at level 35 with zero reviver seeds (i didn't know you could go back) so i resorted to this process: stun dialga, eat violent seed, go to the bottom, throw sleep seed, spam bullet seed multi-hit moves are op lol

Me at 4:57 wondering why no one was talking about the obvious Don't Ever Forget reference and then realizing Dialga's Fight to the Finish is still wailing in the background GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH PEAK
hahaha i dont blame the people who didn't notice because I inserted so many references to other tracks in this arrangement they all kind of meld into each other. (speaking of, there are two more references in that part nobody has commented on yet)
From what I'm hearing listening to the soundtrack, Rivals definitely leans into 80s jazz fusion/synthpop which would be the same genre this falls into! I'm pretty sure we're not using the same synths though. I'm not rly skilled enough to pick out what they used.
Are you still reading comments? Either way, this was an absolute blast to listen to. It lives up to being absolute madness, even if I do personally prefer the original. Though the original is already a massively high bar, and I still enjoyed this thoroughly.
Yup! I still am! Although it takes a while for me to get around to replying I admit. Thank you! And I completely understand liking the original better because I feel I really went too crazy on this one hahaha
hahaha you're talking about 3:26 right because I literally just stacked ii-Vs over and over without thinking about it I can't believe myself I don't think I quoted Chrono Trigger though? Where did you hear it? Oh is it that three-note figure at the end of it cos it's meant to be referencing Time Gear
haha yes for the first thing! It felt very Bo En I lost it when I heard it. I was actually mistaken - the main melody (originally the B section from Time Gear) is just shockingly close to the B section of Chrono Trigger Main Theme (I think it’s also in Scars of Time and the main melody of Fields of Time from Chrono Cross). But you’re right, the Time Gear descending pattern also sounds super similar to Trigger (and kind of like the main Mystery Dungeon theme?). Anyways, incredible work. it is me who was losing it putting a reference from the wrong game into that solo lmao. you is right
Loved it!
Huh... I REALLY didnt expect it to be like this, gdayum! Despite the whiplash, what an amazing remix
Thank you!!!
3:10 I was thinking Tree of Life Roots actually but that motif does show up in both of those themes too!
And you're right, I quoted some Sky Tower after 3:50 in the lower register synth
(you are the first person to have mentioned the morse code as well and don't worry that twitter pic is absolutely indecipherable unless you know what to look for.)
@@FiveNineSquared Youre welcome!!
Ngl, now that you mention it, i hear Tree of Life Roots more than the Tracks i mentioned. Wouldnt even be surprised if i got both of em mixed up as well
Ayy lets goo, i know me a Theme/Leitmotif when i hear it eue
(kk lmao. Maybe one day someone gets it)
Can i say that this is what I feel like it would sound like in SSB

Turtwig's face 😂
This remix is unique, I like it! Especially from 03:35 to 05:23!
primal dialga if it was a splatoon final boss
Sounds like Kirby music lmao its great
Me at 4:57 wondering why no one was talking about the obvious Don't Ever Forget reference and then realizing Dialga's Fight to the Finish is still wailing in the background GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH PEAK
hahaha i dont blame the people who didn't notice because I inserted so many references to other tracks in this arrangement they all kind of meld into each other.
(speaking of, there are two more references in that part nobody has commented on yet)
@@FiveNineSquared It's my absolute favorite part of this masterpiece of a rendition
This theme reminds me to Undertale.
Amazing ♥
awesome, also love seeing turtwig in the art because I always pick it in this game lol
Turtwig best (except here because i couldnt get him to do more than 50 damage each turn even with swords dance oops)
bro just spam bullet seed, i dealt like 70 damage at level 35 using violent seeds with each hit

YES
rip though.
I was… *A little bit overlevelled* when I took on Primal Dialga.
By a little bit I mean I was a Level 61 Mudkip and my partner was a Level 56 Torchic
I thought I was alr kinda overpowered at level 40+ especially with the stun seeds but this is a new high hahahaha
Cool
I got this game for my 4th or 5th bday and beat it when I was 5 😭
pro gamer from young
This is insane. Liked subscribed and commented.
Isn't this the same sound format as rivals of aether? This reminds me a lot of that.
Was that the Chrono Trigger theme???? Never realized how similar those two motifs are somehow
And you couldn’t sneak those Coltrane Changes past me! Giant Steps up the Temporal Tower
hahaha you're talking about 3:26 right because I literally just stacked ii-Vs over and over without thinking about it I can't believe myself
I don't think I quoted Chrono Trigger though?
Favorite fan remix I’ve listened to for any game, absolutely astounding
Makes me wish P.Dialga had a second phase
explorers dx calling it
Damn that morse code really didn't show any mercy ;3
! ! ! ! ! ! !
*There's morse??!*
@@omniscientomnipresent5500 there is!
dialgas fight to the finish but he isnt primal and just hates you
Do I hear a bit of the Tree of Life motif in this?
Yes, at 3:10 :)
