I bought a 3.5L Pilot after watching your video, very happy with it. The size, the easy to use magnetic lock, the ability to switch should belt direction, the interior size, the strong yet thin & soft wall are all better my Peak Design. Leather version looks great, will preorder one.
Thanks for sharing
Such a beautiful bag ! Which one do you recommend for a daily use between the leather and standard charcoal versions (3.5L)? Does the premium leather bag worth it (confortable to carry, weight)? Thanks for your reviews, nice work 👌
The leather bags are heavier than the regular bags as the thickness and quality of the leather is very good. The leather version is for people who love leather. The leather bag will look even better as it wears. If light weight is a priority you may want to go for the regular bag. The leather bags are now endorsed by Leica!
Please use the purchase links in the Info section of the product review as it supports the making of these videos.
Awaesom bag Mark. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I finally got my hands on the Pot 7L with two attaching pockets and have been traveling in South America with my A7CR and 4 lenses. Is this the perfect bag? Yes! Thanks Mark for showing us the way!
Great to hear!
Hey Mark, nice video. Does the 3.5L version fit a full frame Sony camera from "big" A7 line (not the C one)? Does the viewfinder with Sony logo on top of those cameras make it a much tighter fit?
My A1 fits comfortably into the 3.5L with camera attached (it's not a squeeze). It would even take a camera with a larger lens attached, e.g. FE 135mm F1.8 G Master.
Do you think that the 2L would be a good bag for carrying a couple extra lenses like the 35mmGM and 20mmG without putting in a camera? When out shooting I just want something small to carry a few lenses, but don't need to put the camera into the bag.
Two smaller lenses would normally be Ok but the 35 GM has quite a broad diameter, making it a very tight squeeze, so I would recommend moving up a size to the 3.5L
Can the update for the Sony A1 also be packed in this bag?
If it comes in the next 3 years ! ! !
Hypotheticals are best left for the Man upstairs ;-)
1st 3.5 L Pilot series leather bag I received appeared to be used, with drab, worn-looking, unevenly colored and deeply scratched leather. Emailed WC and they said they would send a replacement ASAP. Received the replacement today and it appears to be new and unused but I cannot attach the shoulder strap as one of the attachment loops which receives the strap carabiner is missing from one side of the bag. It was never installed. I think WC has a quality control issue with this particular series bag.
Sorry you have had this experience
Do you know if the 2L would fit the A7CII with the 35GM lens?
It's a very snug fit (especially in the leather version of the 2L). I would personally recommend the 3.5L if you need to remove the camera quickly from the bag.
My new Wotancraft Pilot 3.5L has arrived (took 1 week to arrive in the UK - with no customs duties)
For those interested, it fits my a7R5 with the following lenses:
1) Sigma 14-24mm 2.8, camera face down
2) Tamron 28-200mm, camera face down or lying on the side
3) Any combination of the 20-70 or 20mm or 85mm with 1 lens on the camera and 1 on the side
1) and 2) with space for the 20-70 f4 or 20mm 1.8 or 85mm 1.8 on the side using the divider provided with the bag.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the Info
I have a Wotencraft 7L for my Sony travels, and I love it. My brother just ordered a 10L (he has one of those big heavy Canon cameras 😉)
I have a 10L but prefer the 7L for my Alpha cameras - the smaller 7L ensures I never complain about the weight I am carrying 👍
Can the 2l fit the Nikon ZF with 40mm SE? Could it also fit one additional lens? (28mm f2.8 SE)
I don't own a Nikon ZF - the A7C cameras are considerably smaller than most other full-frame cameras, so I would recommend the 3.5L - especially if you are considering an additional lens.
Can't find the small one in the website
It will probably be listed shortly - my video went live at the time Wotancraft were planning to launch on their website
@@AlphaCreativeSkills It's there now. Thanks!
Those are clean! I know they're going to cost an arm and a leg.
I love their leather though (never seen better) - even have one of their leather watch straps. Always getting people commenting on this.
Dear Mark, We are eagerly waiting for your take on the A9 III. 🙌🙌
As I was more than a week getting my hands on one the new cameras, the ship has sailed on me making a public review. I am currently preparing a Patreon-only video to discuss the implications moving forward for Camera Design and Global Shutter Sensors.
The leather has strong odor, thick and heavy, I’m disappointed and recommend the regular, lighter, cheaper and roomier version.
Most people like the smell of leather and value thick and durable leather over thin leather. Leica like the quality so much they now have a partnership with Wotancraft and put the Leica branding on these leather bags.
