Vinyl Scratch: Hey, Octavia, what's the best possible place to play a string instrument?
Octavia: Why, on a cliff over a pool of molten lava, of course. Honestly, Vinyl, you should know that.
That way you can use the entire volcano as a resonator. Guess that Bass-Cannon is looking pretty second-rate round about now...
I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE MY NAME YOU SHOWER OF TWERPS What if the volcano WAS the Bass-Cannon! O.o

I'm not a full brony but here is my version of what is happening. As Octavia looks across the battlefield, taking in the cacophony of sounds coming to her. The earth pony's hooves striking metal and flesh, the flapping of the hundreds of pegasi in the air diving and climbing to gain an advantage over the enemy, the unicorns casting spell and counter spell in hopes of fending off the enemy's unicorns, and King Sombra laughing above the battlefield, pleased with the destruction he see's below him. She knows she must play. She reaches for her most special bow, made from her own mane and tail, and with wood and phoenix feather as the back, she picks up her cello, and plucks one chord. And as that chord vibrates, the sound it makes carries like a wave over the field, causing every pony to stop for a moment, in awe, before realizing they might be attacked, and returning to battle each other once more. But despite that, Octavia keeps plucking her chords, and after a moment brings her voice into the harmony. And a few seconds later she hears her voice and cello joined by a symphony and amplified to carry even farther than before. She looks around confused, never pausing her song, and sees that Vinyl Scratch has come to help her. having heard her note, Vinyl had made her way up with her drum and amp, and decided to help Octavia spur the troops. And so Octavia brings her bow down and plays her first note. And that note is even more powerful than plucking the string, for the bow has special magic in it, for it not only has her hair, but her entire family line as well, and that magic,combined with the special wood and feather back, make her cello seem to come alive and speak through every note. The soldiers of Princess Celestia's army are so captivated and moved, they fight with renewed vigor, pounding the enemy in hope's to end this war. A fireball is launched at the two pony's on the hill, but strikes short of there position. The flames adding new light and sound to the song they play. Some pegasi come to help the two pony's, but Octavia shoos them away with a flick of her mane to go and help others in more dire need of them. And the two pony's play on through the battle, not stopping to eat or rest there hooves, for fear of everything they have done to help falling apart, and the darkness wash over Equestria. That is my version of this song and picture. If I did any grammatical errors go ahead and be a grammar Nazi I will not hold it against you. I hope that you might even help add on to my story and make it better. I had decided to set it in the time during "The Cutie Remark" Part 1 time frame, just because it seemed more like that time to me. Thank You.

*Octavia stands on a cliff looking down at the battle below. The sounds of battle grow ever sharp as the wind picks up speed and she closes her eyes. one....two... three... Octavia breathes slowly, waiting for her moment. She may not be a fighter in the Equestrian army, but this was something SHE could do! This was Her...nay, THEIR calling. Faint clinks sounded as the other musicians settled around her. Keeping her eyes closed, Octavia continued to calmly breathe. Suddenly a shift in the wind caused the battle sounds to quiet down, though not completely, and She knew it was time. She lifted her bow to the sky were both the celestial orbs shone (a sign the both Celestia and Luna were fiercely defending Eqyestria), before crying out. "For Equestra!" At once she the other musicians begin to play. Together they created a haunting song of mystery and beauty. A song that, carried by the wind, strengthened the tired Equestrian army. Ponies stood taller and their eyes shone brightly as the song filled their mind and spirits.....* (just a short story of this song.)
I stand on the stage and look at at all those sitting before me, I gaze at my friends, I close my eyes and start to play, just for her, I place the bow on my cello, I start to play, I start to move to the music, I find my stings are unbound to the rules of music, and that the music the cello makes is like a dream, like I am back with her, every time I am with her, Unbounded, never ending, Love, Until the end of time, I will play, I play for her, I make this music for.. her.

As Octavia plays, Vinyl smiled from the back seat. "Jeez, I was only late for a few seconds and you started talking as if I'm dead." She chuckled.

Dear Celestia, this would bring even Octavia herself to tears. Amazing doesn't do this justice at all. It's just perfect.
Watchpony got me here to witness this masterpiece.
I hear her rage. I hear her creations of storms. It calls her. To stand up and fight. However, this isn't an ordinary war, but a war of music, a music of storm as she reaches the top of the cliff where magma flows, but she doesn't fear it. Instead she plays her cello as her song reaches out to her enemy.
The picture makes me feel when Octavia plays the cello the ground falls apart but the only thing that can save the other ponies is her playing the cello. It is a cool picture that seems to show off the emotion quite well.
It was probably a bad idea to unbind those strings then :P

I follow the same train of thought but in my mind its the world falling away in her mind. Only her and her cello stand, nothing else matters. All else fades away as the music consumes her.

I wake up, feeling the light passing through the windows of my aircraft...
I was knocked unconscious by a piece of debris from an enemy aircraft I downed last mission
I checked my aircraft's damage, the engine was partially leaking and half my left wing was damaged
I knew my generals would be worried, I hadn't made contact with the S.S. Koldren...
then I heard a powerful blast: a flak cannon, but I was above thick cloud... they couldn'tve hit me...
then I heard roaring aircraft engines, and trough the clouds I can see that another massive air battle was taking place, they seem to be searching for me...
my airmen were getting shot down, and only I had the biggest gun on that sector that day
so with strong spirit, I managed to fix some of the engine leaks and the wing damage (I have a spell where I can spawn objects) and I dove down, straight into the enemy, knocking them out, one by one...
my first try at making a story based off a song :P
