I remember this song growing up in the early 1980s at our local news station in Fresno CA. Back when channel 47 was then ABC. Call letters back then were KJEO
The theme wasn't just limited to ABC owned stations: KABC, WABC, WLS, KGO and WXYZ Regular ABC affiliates: WFAA Dallas/Ft. Worth, KMBC Kansas City, KITV Honolulu, WFTV Orlando and KCST San Diego (now KNSD and NBC) NBC affiliates: WBAL Baltimore, KOMU Columbia/Jefferson City (MO) and WLUK Green Bay (now FOX) CBS affilates: WROC Rochester (NY), WTVJ Miami (now NBC), WGAN Portland (Maine), WAGA Atlanta (now FOX) and WCIA Springfield/Decatur (IL) they had titles other than Eyewitness News
Bay Area news channel song! YES! I grew up listening to this as a kid! I own this film; it was filmed just out of Stockton, California, where I lived in my 20s. Fabulous soundtrack!

It would be interesting to see what WABC would have been if Roger Grimsby was allowed to stay in San Francisco though. If Roger never went to NYC he would have been a legend here too.
