What about the cyber truck?
100%
Looks like my car drawings from 1st grade
it should be on this list or maybe honorable mention
The Cybertruck looks like those low-polygon models you would see in the distance on PS1 in order for developers to save memory.
Good point!
Tesla Truck should be #1
I agree with you on that , it's like a fridge. Also it was hit with a recall as well. Basically what happened, the plastic part that was glued to the gas padel was coming unstuck from it. Also there was a video where someone showed it getting stuck. That's dangerous.
Or the ferrari ff. But I agree. The cyber look is cool but the shape of it is ugly
@@Reaperguy67 it also can chop vegetables
@@endoetz you are right.i have seen a video on it.
@@austinclaw nah the FF looks fine but it does look better than the Cybertruck
The Pontiac Aztek was so ugly that every modern crossover seems to be designed to look exactly like it.
Pontiac was always ahead of their time, back then claimed to be ugly.
Recent years now we see it as okay looking compared to everything else.
@@RetroKingOG, especially the modern pickup trucks and SUVs.
@@Christopher0184 trucks are meant for work not to look pretty
@@Mustansirtaher6, the only problem with that claim is the fact that 99% of trucks on the road these days are never used for work, and are only utilized as glorified grocery getters, and nothing more.
It wouldn't surprise me if many of those crossover vehicles are designed that way to take advantage of loopholes in CAFE law in the US so they can be classified as "light trucks"...
now do 20 prettiest cars of all time
Lamborghini gallardo
haha thats good idea and i agree
1. 1953 Cadillac Ghia Series 62 Coupé
65 Shelby A/C Cobra
Lambo Miura , Ferrari Daytona Coupe, Bugatti Type 55 , Jag XJ120 , MGA.............................
My 2009 Nissan Cube has been the only stable relationship in my life. 65K miles and still runs like it’s new.
How does it only have 65k on it. When it’s a 2009?
65k is NOTHING.
Winning the race with consistency
How could you forget to mention that the BMW Isetta was the vehicle of choice for one Steven Q. Urkel
ikr
And he drove it to great success.
Thank you! I was about to comment this
Stephon Arkell 🌚
When I was a kid I always thought Urkel had built the car himself because it never occurred to me a real car company would mass produce this on purpose
No way. I love the Cube! It's soooo weird that it's come around to being great.
Most of these cars aren't even ugly.. And the Nissan S-Cargo is one of the cutest cars ever made..
Anyone who has an Isetta on this list, but not a Cyber Truck, clearly has no idea!
Exactly! Cybertruck is position 1.
UK: My 'Uncle' Harold had a Bubblecar, and I was small enough to stand up in it. It was fun. I rented a Gremlin on a USA trip in 1976 (and a Pacer) I thought it looked fine. I'd like an S-cargo to run about in. Plenty of headroom. The Juke sold quite well here and you do see quite a few around.
[Comment Deleted]
Of all the cars that are shown in this video, the BMW Isetta, AMC Gremlin, AMC Pacer, AMC Hugo and AMC Trunkov are also the villains from the 2011 Pixar film Cars 2
Haven't spotted an isetta but did spot an zündapp janus a car pretty similiar to the isetta. A car that was pretty bad and had an reason why it was called a "lemon"
Screw that…prowlers are cool
i agree not ugly
The Reliant Robin had 3 wheels so it could be driven on a motorcycle licence.
And it was the only car to get a DNF from The Stig.
VW181 and Prowlers are cool imo.
The Gremlin is awesome!! We used to soupe them up with small blocks, meaty rear tires, and custom paint jobs.
I also like the gremlin it's the most unique looking muscle car I've ever seen
I’ve been kinda wanting one for years I think they look cool
Gremlin X was a contender right out of the box.
What?No Yugo?
Yugos are plain and boring but there are far uglier cars
honestly the mantis looks like a cool design, reminds me of the stingray design
How can the Gremlin be on this list and not the Pacer?
Watchmojo, are you kidding me?? 20 ugliest cars?? Well for me some of these car design is not just awesome, but way too futuristic, ahead of its time should I say.
I drove my 2002 Pontiac Aztek for 17 year and absolutely loved it! Had the tent and camped in it every summer. It was like a Swiss Army Knife on wheels - could carry groceries, could go out on date night, had AC in the back seat for the kids, and enough room in the back to bring home a dryer. I miss it!
What? My parents had a Nissan Juke! I really liked it!
When I see the BMW iseta I just think of Steve urkel
Yep
Walter White got more thrills and adventures out of that Pontiac Aztek than most Aztek owners probably did 🤣🤣🤣
Despite being one of the ugliest cars ever, the Multipla sold fairly well, it had 6 seats and a lot of space for its size
The Type 181 "Thing" was actually based off the Kubelwagen, a German military vehicle similar to the Jeep. They also had an amphibious model named the Schvimwagen.
and it was Patty and Selma's daily ride on The Simpsons.
How cold they forget the AMC Pacer?
The Gremlin looked a lot worse lol
@@jasonsobol32 not as bad as the 1974-78 Matador coupe.
@dreibel I can't disagree. I've owned an Aztek and I don't think it's as ugly as some other cars, for example the Isuzu VehiCross
Ngl this list was a not a good list but they got some right
“Juke makes you think of football” unless you live in the UK and someone says Juke and you think of the car 🤦🏼♀️
Or indeed if you're from the UK and old like me, you think of the box.
After the AMC Gremlin, I was sure to see the AMC Pacer. Its design was very weird, but I loved mine. I was still weird though. Common nicknames: "Bubble on Wheels", "Pregnant Rollerskate", etc.
The Prowler is beautiful. Your inclusion of it on this list is wrong
I loved the Pontiac Aztek and the Chrysler PT Cruiser.
I drove a PT Cruiser for a while. It was reliable and I cannot understand people saying it's ugly.
@@matthewpaul6904 I can't either. I rode in one when I was younger & it was amazing.
1978 Mustang ll uglier than the amc gremlin😂
Who "almost universally" considers the Cube the worst car of all time? People who have never heard of Zastava and the Trabant, apparently and have never turned a wrench in their lives. Also, no one has ever seen a Citroen 2CV? I love the weird cars, but in truth they look like tin snails (and look that way so that they can be both inexpensive peoples cars and worked on easily). And the Smart?
I once hit 60mph on a dead straight road in my daughters Smart car taking it to Tesco to refuel it for her. It was singularly the scariest experience I have EVER had driving a vehicle.
And I speak as an ex-Post Office lorry driver who one day whilst not paying attention encountered a newly built roundabout that I was not expecting, whilst doing 60mph in my 7.5 ton P.O. lorry. We're talking video game playing levels of expertise to get across that roundabout without hitting anything. Many pants were soiled that day.
The Citroen is called Ente in Germany, which means duck (the animal). I’ve always loved that car!!
I knew somebody in 1950‘s Germany who drove an Isetta in town. The driver was handicapped. This car permitted her to get in and out more easily than a regular car would.
my father bought a used BMW Isetta in the mid sixties - he gutted it and used the parts to use as a tractor for around the property. He then planted the body in the back yard so myself and my brothers to pretend to drive it. Ours was the three-wheel version of it.
The Reliant Robin was Mr. Bean's nemesis in many of the episodes and later cartoon series.
The Gremlin may have been homely, but AMC sold a lot of them - very reliable and handled well. Not like its competition, which exploded (Pinto) or rusted and had warped engine blocks (Vega)
I had a friend who drove a Pontiac Aztek in the early 2K and I got to admit it was really a well design comfortable ride. I almost thought of getting one.
The Citicar is just a Lego Cheese Slope with wheels.
Someone would be fired for making that.
Edit: Someone with Legos can make afar better cheese slope car than this, and the car itself was made in the '70s.
* cheese wedge
Looks also like the worker bee from Star Trek.
Lists like this, more than almost anything, prove the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are at least five cars on this list that I thought were great-looking, mainly because they did NOT try to conform to the standard that everyone expects. I love the Gremlin. I love the Cube. I love the VW Thing. If it weren't a Chrysler product, I would want a PT Cruiser. If I ever find a Suzuki X-90 in decent shape, I'm going to buy it. I currently own a Nissan Juke. I wanted one from the moment I first saw one, and bought a good, used one three years ago. I put about 15,000 miles on it in those three years, and I drove it on the round trip from Pittsburgh to Myrtle Beach twice. It was comfortable, reliable, and FAST. It turns heads everywhere I take it, and in a good way.
My mother drives a P.T. Cruiser. She has a bad back and the seat design makes it more comfortable for her.
Wow, this script makes me feel old. How about the Studebaker Avanti?
Fun fact probably you guys didn’t even know:
Lagonda was intentionally created to be a luxury brand separate from Aston Martin. Like Rolls Royce to BMW or Bentley to VW!
Lagonda wasn’t a trim level of Aston it was a whole different brand.
But as you can probably see, they attempted to sell that particular lagonda back in the 70s for 190,000$
You can tell they failed miserably
And the Aztek was extremely underrated, it wasn’t as bad as everyone raved about! The last years when it was full coloured rather than two tone, actually didn’t look so bad!
The Reliant with the "Starsky and Hutch" paint job was just tragic. Lol
That model of car was the only one that got a DNF from The Stig.
Doug's the type of guy to get featured in a watchmojo video
You forgot the Citroën C4 Picasso also I call it the egg mobile.
This video is like anyone's grandma having a rant about modern art.
i don't understand some cars on this list, some of these are really cool looking
The VW Thing is my favorite car! And Drew Barrymore drives one in 50 first dates so 😝
Most of the cars on this list would make great classics, even if they are ugly. They still had more character and charm than modern cars do!
My dad owned a Gremlin back in 1985, and reminiscing about it fills me with nostalgia. I cherished that car dearly, and wish I could buy one now.
_Looney Tunes: Back In Action_ featured Brendan Fraser driving a Gremlin. It even played the theme from the _Gremlins_ series when the car was first shown.
That Isetta, was in family matters. It was Steve's car.
Very good list. Some say the SsangYong Stavic is worthy of mention too. Now please do a list of prettiest cars of all time.
I would love to own 8 of these cars on this list.
I haven’t seen such a disastrous backend since that time I got gas station sushi. 5:42
My first car was an AMC Hornet, which was basically a Gremlin with four doors and a trunk; it was one heck of a car, and ran forever. I used to refer to its paint color as "Crest toothpaste green." It was a primitive little beast, but it got the job done.
My Cube was worth every penny! Served me well for 15 years. No regrets, I'd do it all over again!
I drove a 2005 for Taurus that was ugly
I’m amazed my 2010 Honda insight isn’t on this list 🤣🤣
The Multipla was everywhere at one point- a horrible era to be on the road.
Actually, when I hear "juke", the first thing I think of is a jukebox, not football.
Name 15 of the cutest cars in the next video. Cutest car is Panto.
Nissan cube is downright BEAUTIFUL next to a Ssangyong Rodius!
For #12, imagine if it was underpowered and was very slow. Not only does the S-cargo look like a snail, but it also drives like it.
Wonder what they were thinking when they designed it like that. If it ran like what it looks like, it’d be up there as the worst car ever along with the Yugo.
My grandma Sharon had a red PT cruiser. It was extremely cramped but perfect for a 4’9 old lady
And this is why all cars look alike…because people complain when they try to make something like different,so now all our cars look like this shoe 👟
DeLorean - Don't let Back to the future fool you this ugly car was so unpopular. You'd think they made 3 Back to the Future movies just to sell it.
Except the movies came out long after they stopped making them. I think John Delorean was out of prison by the time the first movie came out…
The Rolls Royce Carmargue. ‘You either like it or don’t like it all’ Wonder why Marmite didn’t use that slogan? Far catchier(!)
Thanks for using clips from my favorite car UA-camrs and input from Clarkson. Cybertruck should have been on an honorable mentions list at least
When I was living in California with a friend, we each wanted to get a Gremlin and then paint them like hightop sneakers. We thought it would look funny to have a massive pair of sneakers in the drive way. This was before Google Maps, but the satellite view would be pretty awesome if we did it today!🤣
I have an old national geographic magazine from 1995 advertising the trans sport lol 😂 11:11
This is a good list - the Prowler and the Aston Martin are maybe not the most beautiful cars, but they still somehow work. Especially if you understand them in the context of the time they were launched. Missing are the Mercedes S-Class W-140 and the American Ford Taurus station wagon 1996/97.
I had a V W thing a while ago. I just loved it. I wish I still had it❤
The Tesla line in general and the Cybertruck in particular ring the bell in this line-up. The best of them makes the Rivian look good, and the Rivian makes the Aztek look good.
Always thought the Ford Aerostar XL was ugly. Looks like a spaceship
That Bulgarian car looks like a Transformer that didn’t quite make it back to being a car again.
The Cyber Truck
bro some cars are nice and have a lot of character, the juke, vw type 181, bmw isetta are all beatiful cars
Some of these cars, my mind is like: What were the designers thinking or smoking when they came up with this? 😂🎉
My mom owned both a Gremlin and PT Cruiser ragtop. I liked the Gremlin. I owned an Aztek. No, it wasn't an attractive car, but... it was the most versatile vehicle I ever owned. However, I had electronic issues from day one. I really like the Lagonda, but from what I understand, it has more issues than National Geographic.
wow, no amc pacer??
I’ve seen a lot of Pontiac Trans Sports back when I was a child. They were surprisingly popular despite its looks.
What about the Brubaker box?!
Look for the picture of the Nissan Cube in Utah, custom license plate C6H12O6.
Sugar cube.
Didn't expect and didn't knew that here in my country Bulgaria we made a car that's in watchmojo's ugliest Cars of All Time 😅
Personally, I like a lot of these cars. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've always loved the Plymouth Prowler, definitely one of my favorite car designs of all time. I've also always liked the Gremlin, it has a unique, quirky charm to it. I liked the PT Cruiser's modern throwback look, I think it's a good design. It must have looked good, because where I used to live in Southern California, they were absolutely everywhere. Honestly, some of these cars just make me laugh. The number 1 spot really gave me a good laugh and was one of the very few on this list I actually thought was ugly.
Quirky enough for one to come apart when you try starting it.
Grandpa Munster (Al Lewis): Have you ever put a curse on the whole automobile?
Henry J. Fregosi (Paul Reed): Only once. I assume you've heard of the Edsel? 😏
It's amazing the Cube topped the list, while the even boxier and more horrid Scion didn't receive a mention.
The Type 181 looks like what you would get if you described an OG army Jeep to a kid who had never seen one and asked them to draw a picture...
To be honest maybe is a nerodiverse thing, but I'd rock any of these cars besides the s-cargo. Insanity does in fact has its limits
Top 20 Awesome Cars
What about the Pacer?
What, no AMC Pacer…the UFO of automobiles!
Ngl the aztek and gremlin, as well as the isetta Don't look half bad
One of my friends had a white cube, and her custom plate was C6H12O6. Those who are not scientific, that is the molecular formula for Glucose. My friend had a Sugar Cube.
Sucrose actually. I started thinking of a Cube with HYPER as a custom plate, making it a Hyper Cube.
I think the Kia Soul belongs on here. Especially in that alien puke color.
The Multipla was really horrible (in Italy we used to joke that if you got an accident against one of them, you would die not from the hit, but from a heart attack because of the sheer horror) but sold pretty well as a family car, having six seats and a lot of available fuel combinations suited for practically everyone (gasoline, diesel, gasoline/LPG, gasoline/CNG).
Cybertruck
“A hilarious electric cheese wedge from the 70s.”
Yup, that Citicar looks exactly the part!
A smaller scale version would not have looked out of place in a robot combat sport setting.
The fact that any modern cars are good looking will always shock me. They are designed in such a weird, piecemeal manner. Some auto designers spend their whole careers only designing steering wheels, for example.
Which is why the most sought-after job in car design is designing Hotwheels. It’s one of the few jobs where you get to design the whole car.
How did you miss the Isuzu Vehicross?
I think I just love ugly cars cause I love most of these. The x90 is something I'd absolutely love to have
