    Good Morning Rob! I always enjoy it when I get up and there is a video uploaded by you that I can enjoy while making my breakfast. Thank you! Edited to add: I noticed while watching you on your other channel, you were wearing this outfit and the hat matched the sky and your sweatshirt matched the ocean. Lined up perfectly. :) The background was beautiful! It's been so cold here in Maine I was surprised to see you out there without a proper jacket.

      @RobtheMaritimer  9 днів тому

      Aw thank you for the kind words :-) In hindsight that might've been a better thumbnail to showcase adding saturation to the blues! I'm about to head outside again to shoot another video because it's snowing now and beautiful outside... a little cold, but I think it'll look great... and show that we do get snow here in Nova Scotia too lol! Only a sweatshirt true, but with 2 layers of shirts underneath ;-)

      @kstari 9 днів тому

      @@RobtheMaritimer I woke up to a blanket of fresh snow. I saw on the weather last night that Nova Scotia would be getting some as well, so of course I thought of you.
      I need to sign up for Creator's Cove. I have a big problem with procrastinating. I have great equipment but am stuck with feeling over-whelmed. I feel like I have to know everything before I can start. I'm the type that if I can't have 6 hours to get into a zone and do something where I can shut everything else out, forget it. The time I spend on UA-cam or other things I could use to actually have hands on learning but again, I don't feel like 15 minutes here and there is worth it. I have trouble switching gears. My problem is I'm multi-passionate. There really isn't enough time to do all the things I love, even when I narrow it down to just a handful. When I'm doing something creative that I love, I'm in the zone where I won't eat, forget to use the bathroom, haha...and I enjoy that space/ zone and wish I could be there more often. I need to change my mind about this. I need to stop thinking that everything needs to be perfect in order for me to take the time to do what I call "fun". I suppose it's linked to guilt? I know you have pretty much talked about this in your content. Have fun out in the snow! Take care!

    • @RobtheMaritimer
      @RobtheMaritimer  9 днів тому

      @@kstari "Feeling like you have to know everything before you start..." Well, that was me a few years ago, exactly! I know it sounds cliche, but if I were to start all over again the one thing I wish I did differently is to start WAY before I actually did :) Even if the videos are bad, just start. You have to start somewhere :) And it's impossible to learn everything before starting... many of the things you'll learn cannot be learned by watching videos, but must be learned by doing, failing, doing again, etc. And I think a lot of creators would say the same thing... they just wished they started sooner! I realize now that I do NOT need most of the equipment I accumulated over the years. My phone, a tripod, a mic, and my Macbook (and an internet connection) is literally all that is needed to do this :) I hear what you're saying though, I totally get it... I remember just last year thinking that if I didn't have a full 8 hours with nothing else to do and with no one around, I didn't have time to make a video... and so it just never happened. Today though, I make time and can do it much more quickly. In fact, I just got back from recording a video outside... the one I told you I was going to do above :) (I could have it ready in an hour or so but it'll be tomorrow or Friday morning before I post it). So you just have to do it :) You'll be SO HAPPY when you look back and know that you started once you finally do... and you too will wish you had started sooner ;) There's no time like right now... snow makes for a pretty backdrop too!! Good luck with it 🙂

    2 questions. You hit remover background but the background didn't go away. Also, why do you make so many copies? Thnx

    • @RobtheMaritimer
      @RobtheMaritimer  9 днів тому +1

      I probably could've shown that better. I removed the background on the top copy only, not the bottom copy. That's why you need two copies... one that doesn't have the background (so effects applied to that one only affects myself) and one that does have the background (so effects applied to that apply to everything in the bottom copy, including the background. Does that make sense?

    • @BelVelour

      Are you referring to toggling back and forth live? I don't think you can... that's not the way I do it anyways. • @RobtheMaritimer
      @RobtheMaritimer  9 днів тому +1

      @@MeadowOutdoors Yes, but you would do that in the editing process, not when you are recording. Just like this video I did here... I recorded myself on camera (to the camera's SD card) and my monitor I recorded using OBS. I then brought both those videos into a new project in Camtasia and edited them together. As you can see there were times that I animated myself from full screen down to a rectangle on the screen.... and moved myself around periodically... all that was done in editing afterwards. I hope that helps :)
