    Alternatively, if you feel like you may get confused as what side is front or back of the button when unkinking the thread, you can hold the button and let the thread and needle dangle to unwind. I actually do this often when I'm doing sashiko embroidery.

    neat! like a ring in irish crochet, but with buttonhole stitches instead of single crochets, and then crossbars after. a very practical member of the lacemaking family

    I learned this loop method via Irish Lace crochet. You can make a very firm button - great for shirt buttons. Thanks for this video. It is fun.
