When I became allergic to bees suddenly the nurses at the er told me that because all of our cells renew every 7 years you may suddenly become allergic to something and I was at the 20 year old mark. I had no idea I was allergic untill I was stung and had a systemic reaction. They told me you can become allergic to anything at anytime. It's crazy! Wishing you luck on finding out what's going on.
As a lifelong runner, I highly recommend signing up for a 5K. Especially one that gives a finisher medal at the end. I did my first 5K (after being talked into it by a friend in 1998) and I never expected to still be doing it, haha! Collecting my medals and race bibs is tangible proof of how far I’ve come with my running. And you’d be surprised how welcoming and wonderful the running community will be when you do sign up for a race! Love your content, makeup, books and everything in between! 💕
I started following you this year and you’ve already inspired me. I realized that I can have multiple hobbies without hyperfocusing and if I don’t feel like doing a certain hobby for a while, that’s okay cuz I’ll go back to it. You’ve also inspired me to do more things (thanks to the vlogs) you just use your time so well and I want to try and do that more. As far as running, sometimes you have to drive to pretty places to run. Running in your neighborhood is boring AF and the scenery helps if you drive around a bit.
I would LOVE seeing content with older products! I have to really carefully pick and wait to add stuff to my collection, sometimes a year+ after it's launched, if it's even available by the time I'm ready to to get things on my wishlist. Sometimes looking them up on yt for inspiration makes me feel like something I'm so excited to finally have is just so beyond relevant. Sometimes it totally dampens my excitement. I can't be the only one who experiences this! It would be so fun to have any chance of seeing "old" products featured in a new videos! To be clear, it's awesome to learn about products as they come out and creators have to do what they need to do to keep their channels afloat and relevant, so I'm not faulting anyone for keeping up with the relentless pace and saturation of market releases!
Speaking of moving out of state. My husband and i live in Utah (him his whole life, me since i was a teenager) We are in the process of closing on a house in Maine at the end of January. So we’ll be doing a cross country move at the beginning of next year. I’ll still work my current job cause I am able to work fully remote. I’m so excited, but also nervous cause we have 2 dogs and 2 cats to get moved with us. Big change, but I can’t wait. I grew up in Virginia, Maryland, and New Hampshire. I cannot wait to move to our small town in Maine that we’re purchasing a house in
I’ve been a runner since college and I was in cross country. For me listening to music and thinking about manifesting through life and working through my emotions about situations helps a lot through runs. Also once you can run consistently four miles you can run a half or whole marathon ❤I like running so it’s not as hard for me, I actually hate doing like gym stuff. Like yoga and Pilates is fine but I really enjoy running because it gives me a chance to work through my emotions.
I live in houston where it's hot n humid so I found that having a gym membership helps cuz I like the treadmill where I can zone out and watch gaming content n not worry about heat stroke. I dont allow myself to watch gaming content otherwise which makes me go to the gym lol. If I wanna jog outdoors, I go before the sun comes up n listen to an audiobook. I've talked to other runners n they say that not all days are the same for them regarding stamina and they give themselves so much grace which is comforting to know, personally
I read somewhere on Pinterest that you’re “allowed” fun New Year’s resolutions too, like try a new fruit every time you go to the market or go to a new park in your city once a month and for some reason it made me more excited to think of some for the new year 😅
I use couch to 5k most years seasonally when it’s not icy, just to move. I also have zero interest in racing. It’s a just an easy way to get out and not have to think about a routine. And it’s good support for hiking and MTB.
on libby, you can actually add other libraries which gives you access to more books! I ended up just searching on libby where you can add your library different cities in my state and have ended up with like 20 different library groups which is like… over 100 different libraries which gives access to SO many more books!
@@battybean also you can ask your library to buy books for their collection! I've personally never had a library not purchase a book for me when I've asked them to even if I had to wait until they received their next lot of funding to get it.
We're playing cards against humanity with our kids since we won't have the grand Littles this year. & my hubby gave me tickets to Metallica for Christmas so I have to find us a hotel for a long weekend. My goal is to get healthier & try to do more with the family to make great memories with the Littles, while they're still little. Have a wonderful new year darlin!
I became allergic to fish in my mid 20s and then when I turned 30 I got hives from something in the Welch’s fruit snacks. I know super weird how our body changes over time or the ingredients in food change
My main goal is to minimize stress in my life, meaning stressing less about unimportant things and also eat healthier and get some online dance classes 🎉🎉
I'm not as much of a reader as I used to be. I did pick up my crochet hooks again. I also started knitting and am working on a Dr Who scarf for my son. My workout goals for this year were to increase the weight I can lift (which that has improved). I also had the goal of working up to putting risers under the bench whenever I'm doing step aerobics (that didn't really happen). I rediscovered yoga this year though so I'm happy about that.
My kids and I have been sick the whole time at my in laws place. I am so ready to be home back in Charleston. Love Louisiana food but not the weather they are having right now.
You might really enjoy doing a 5k race. I was so intimidated myself to try one as a casual runner because the word "race" made me think that would be the focus and all the more serious runners would laugh at me. But that's not the case at all! All the 5ks I've done, everyone is supportive and nice. Usually there's a handful of people who are super good and trying to finish first, but then everyone else is trying to beat a personal time or just finish. There's a positive and supportive atmosphere all around.
I have food allergies as well and it took so long to figure out what it was I was well into my twenties but now that I’m almost forty I have it under control for the most part but my body has definitely changed and now things like dairy and nuts are starting to effect me lol it’s a never ending cycle but I’ve come to embrace it and accept it lol ironically in my health journey I’ve learned a lot about my mothers food issues and that it’s probably genetic lol but anyway yes I agree it’s important to listen to our body and feed it accordingly 😆 I really want to start reading again and I’m going to try a “reading goal” list and shop my stash lol I have so many books I have yet to read 😅 So excited to see all the fun things that the new year will bring you 🙌🏻 I’m enjoying living vicariously through you lol 😂🩶
December has been ok. Work is overwhelming, but i do have a 5 day weekend coming up starting on Jan 1st. So I'll use that time to finalize reorganizing my makeup space & we do the whole room. I think my roommate and i will be staying in this house for one more year, so if we do, im painting the room. " phthalo green". I do hope you get more subscribers. You should be in the hundred thousands but that's just me. ❤🎉
I have been buying 2-3 books a month. Then I read on Kindle Unlimited. I will check out Libby. My son is a big reader too. He likes sci-fi/fantasy type books and writes in the same genre.
Obsessed with this look! The sweater was a perfect choice. Also am enjoying your vlog channel for sure, Maevyn and I appreciate more kitty shenanigans, haha! Goals for 2025 is get more movement in, pay down my consumer debt, and put more $ into my 401k!
Wonderful make up ❤❤ ! I love every make up you show. There are always so gorgeous 🤩. I’d really like to be able to mix the colors and forms as you do…
I started following you this year and it had helped me so much with being more adventurous with my make up! ❤ I look foward to more adventures in 2025! Thank you!
I love kindle unlimited I do believe there are authors that so far are only published on kindle, and I read books so fast, you can start and stop that subscription so if you are gonna be reading other places for a while, I just cancel mine n restart when needed. Lately I share with my son, bc you can have 10 books out at a time, so I haven't been cancelling bc he has been using it, but still get my monies worth so I do recommend it.
I want to get back into cooking food I like and sewing. I've been cutting sugared drinks especially sweet iced coffee from my daily intake and I feel more energetic and don't depend on sugar and caffeine as much. For new years, for the past few years,it's just been at home, enjoying life.
It was a very fun 2024 for me and your channel was a big part of it! Thank you again for recommending My Best Friend’s Exorcism (I swear I can’t shut up about that book😂) and Kayali’s Burning Cherry. I’m obsessed with that scent, it’s just perfect. I couldn’t find any new exciting perfume for about two years and finally I got a new fave thanks to you!🍒
I'm definitely not the type of person to make a big deal of NYE. 🤣 Not my thing at all. But I love your reading goals for 2025. I'm all for reading the things you enjoy rather than forcing yourself to read something you don't get anything out of. There are too many fabulous books in the world to waste your time on a book that doesn't offer you anything. I want to read more of the books that I own this year. I'm terrible to buy books when they're on sale or when I find them for cheap at Goodwill and then put them on my shelf and never get around to them. That's my biggest goal reading wise for the year. I also want to read one classic each month. I used to read classic literature all the time, but have gotten distracted over the last few years. I just really want to read the books that I've always wanted to read in 2025. Hope you have a wonderful new year, Betty Jean!
I totally used to be like that with my exercise. Now I do a little bit of everything all week. I run 3 days a week, I strength train 3 days a week, and I do CrossFit like workouts 5 days a week. So I move 7 days a week but it’s different every day. So far it’s worked. I’ve been doing it for a year now. I started running a little over a year ago and have been able to keep up with doing it 3 days a week. No training plan just go with how I feel. I track my miles for the week and keep track. There’s a lot of great programs out there. It’s not my focus so I don’t get too “serious” about it 🤪
December has been pretty busy and a little stressful. Everything worked out though. There was some good and fun moments. At the age of 31, I finally had a tonsillectomy. Thank goodness I was able to eat normally by Turkey Day and finally on Christmas. 🥳🎆🎇
My husband's birthday is also in the 1st! My step daughters birthday is the 31st and she is turning 21. I think we will be staying home relaxing while she goes out with friends. On his birthday we will just relax and I plan to make him some good juicy cheeseburgers and fries. Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to your father in law.❤🎉
For running I love an app called zombies run. It’s like an interactive novel that you are part of as you are runner 5 who has to collect things on missions etc. honestly the plot is so good it often made me run longer so I could hear the next part of the story
Mulberry, violet and cornflower blue make such a lovely colour combination. You look gorgeous, 🩵💜 You make an excellent point about avoiding setting oneself up for failure with unrealistic NY resolutions. With that in mind, I just plan on gardening more and on a schedule, and doing more forest walks - albeit dryland forest 🫠 - in 2025. I just know the pay-off in improved health and wellbeing is worth any initial reluctance 🌿💚
Good morning Batty how are you happy Monday morning to you and I hope you having amazing weekend and happy new year to you and I hope that 2025 brings you a love to you
Oh my gosh, you'd love my sister's coffee corner in her kitchen. I love showing up at her house early and beg for a coffee. She's even got the beautiful "to go" cups for me. Don't worry, I take her once a month anywhere for dinner, and that usually involves heavily armored deep ocean critters.... gross! But expensive. But she loves her coffee bar! So..... you should treat yourself!
Books: recommend the “James Asher Vampire” series by Barbara Hambly. First book is “those who hunt the night”. There are 8 books Excellent. All her novels are excellent.

My daughter and I are coming to Disney in May for her 21st birthday!
Omg have fun!
You goals are quite inspiring. ❤️ I personally want to eat more nutritious foods and not be lazy about cooking. Less ‘girl dinners’😅
hahaha i feel that😂

Happy Holidays, Betty Jean! I’m curious to know what shade you are in the Merit stick foundation…
i believe bone is the shade they sent me! (i’d probably pick linen for myself though because that’s more neutral but bone is fine!)
🎉 I'm working all new year x I work in retail.
hope it’s a smooth day for you!
That’s so cute!

I did for about a year and a half at his martial arts school! But it’s very beginner focused so i sort of grew out of it haha. That was the only one that worked for me time-wise.
It’s a balance for sure! Definitely something have to be conscious of! I usually try to write down a couple old things I’d like to revisit so that they’re on my mind.

I really enjoy my Kindle Unlimited subscription, and I absolutely love checking out e-books from the library. I stick to an average of 1 book a week, but honestly there’s weeks where I read 5 books, and other times when it’s 1 book in 2 weeks. It depends on my stress level.
