The car boot situation totally reminded me of my first date with my now husband. We had dinner and walked around downtown and we came back to the car and I had a ticket on my windshield. I was so embarrassed. I wanted to cry and yell, but my date(now husband) was so kind and reassuring that it has now become an inside joke. We’ve been together 13 years now!
BTW, I love how all you ladies had different aesthetics going on and were diverse. The thrift community is pretty awesome!♥️👏♥️
Ahhhh haha I LOVE that!!! So sweet of your husband to comfort you and 13 years!? Dang girl! Time fliesssssss art and I just hit 7 years but it truly feels like not much time has passed! I was so nervous that the boot was gonna be a few hundred or near a thousand to remove. I’m surprised they didn’t just write out a ticket!!!🙄✨
I’m so sad I couldn’t thrift with you! I saw this and I was like WHAT? Danielle was in Chicago! I can confidently say Chicago thrifting is genuinely where it’s at, especially village discount. ( I’m from here btw ). The prices are usually dirt cheap & if they’re not, it’s probably worth $8 tbh. Village discount has 3 for $1 on sundays on certain colored tags ( never white lol ) & it’s buy one half off, get one free on Tuesdays! I thrift for a living too so I love love my stores I stand by village discount lol! Also the city is beautiful and is truly a gem, I think you would love it here! Especially Chicago summers. ❤️❤️❤️

I grew up in Chicago and I can confidently say Chicago is at its best in the winter/ when it snows. It is so pretty and everyone’s ice skating and getting hot cocoa
Oooo that sounds like straight outta a movie!!! I’ve only been in snow once in my life and that was when I went to work a fashion tradeshow in NY and girllll when I tell ya I felt like I literally was gonna freeze to death. After that, I told myself I’d never step in snow again!😭❄️✨

I live in Chicago and I can confidently say that the Salvation Army and Unique Thrift are the best thrift shops for 90s and y2k pieces. Village discount has more stuff and is cheaper, but I rarely find pieces I like there
UNIQUE IS GREAT. I like Village Discount for kitchenware, simple things, and warmth pieces like sweaters and some coats, but it's not great for trendy stuff. it's just super cheap lol.

Ahhhh I would LOVE that!!! Yessss I heard Chicago has the best discounts and sale days. Totally unheard of in LA and the cheapest thing we have it Jet rag $1 but it’s primarily dated vintage and the goodwill bins which is usually a hit or miss. Buuut I’ll be back in Chicago same time next year so let’s thrift giiirl!!!💗💗

ahh you picked up some cool pieces!! im from chicago & village discount’s are my fav thrift stores in the city 😌 there’s a two level village discount on N. Milwaukee and that area (wicker park) is super nice to walk around in as well! also if you’re ever in chicago again, I recommend checking out this vintage shop called shang-ri la vintage :)
Ahhhh we actually went to that two level village discount too! That’s where I found the black vest but I heard the employees say that they didn’t like me filming so I didn’t show those clips😅 aaaaand that’s where Jenna’s car got a boot!🙁but I’m already making plans to visit next year so I’ll totally check it out or even better just come wifff meeeee✨

Love the white bloomers! 😲 $8 is sounds decent price still. I once bought a Victoria secret babydoll lace slip - it was cute but it was $20 at the silver lake flea market 😩
Oooooo yeah silverlake flea is a lil pricey so I usually won’t splurge unless it’s a really REALLY unique item that I can’t thrift myself or I just check out everyone’s $5 bins😄✨

I hope y’all don’t mind me butting in! I think Chicago rent isn’t so bad considering cost of living is cheaper than LA. The rent itself can definitely be pricey, you’re lucky if you find a one bedroom for $1200 honestly. BUT I know LA meals/outings are way more expensive, and so is gas. Chicagoans can honestly probably get along a little easier than people from LA. Any city is expensive but LA just seems like more ridiculously expensive lol!! Idk if y’all would agree with me or not.
