I had one toddler at my wedding. ONE. I didn't want him there but my mum (his godmother) insisted and said if i banned kids, she wouldn't come.
Guess who was wailing in church? Guess who did not leave the church but just went to the back (which changed nothing because of the layout of the church)
I was pissed. Even turned around and glared at them at my own wedding.
    Still pissed a year later.

Ultimately my answer is no to kids at any wedding. especially if that is a request of the bride or groom and then it should be honored. Kids get tired and can ruin it for those that don't have kids or have found a sitter for parent(s) to have a night out. My ex-husband's sister refused to leave the ceremony and her 18 mo old baby crying was the only thing heard on the video. People find sitters to go to concerts, bars and other things. If you can't find a sitter or refuse to find one then send a nice gift and stay home with your kids. I support my daughter who does not want children under the age of 18 at her wedding and as a back up I suggested that they hold everything at a 21 and older club therefore eliminating any possibility of the selfish people who want to show off their kids. The wedding is about the bride and groom and if they allow kids more power to them, but if they request no kids then find a sitter or stay home.

She doesn't have to explain it to her young son. No is no. It is an adult event. Invite the kids to a a reception a few days after the wedding, have a small cake and you can engage them that way. Preserving your day and still involving any kids. Would you invite your kids to an adult party with just adults only? No you would get a sitter. She is entitled to have the perfect day and why should the bride and groom set up and pay for a sitter? Not their problem. Plus the kids will get tired and the parents will go get them and bring them to the ceremony either way. The selfish ones always break the rules.

It’s the bride and grooms chiose I I respect it doesn’t mean it’s wrong becouse children have to deal with the burdens of other children and have many stereotypes saying that we’re annoying or obnoxious which is so infuriating and that means you think it’s ok to not let a certain group of people at your wedding
