I had loads of children at my wedding. We all really enjoyed it and it worked for us. I totally understand if you want a child-free one and I recently asked one of my friends who is getting married in 2024 if children were allowed at their nuptials. It's up to the couple at the end of the day.

It's up the couple to make the decision about children/no children at their wedding. Children are unpredictable; children can be obnoxious; children can be feisty if they don't get their way; children can be nasty little pieces of work (although the parents would deny that); children can be huge troublemakers at the most inopportune times. Ex. Our family is Sicilian; we have big weddings----but no children. The last time one of the young cousins (he was five at the time) attended, all hell broke loose. His parents were more interested in drinking and eating than watching him. He climbed up on the round table with a huge tray of Italian cookies and pastries. He began throwing the cookies and pastries around the room, with cannolis landing on the floor, on people's laps, and on the tables and chairs. The mother went over to him and said, "I am going to count to three, and if you don't stop you'll have a time out." (now really---a time out at a wedding?). Of course the child didn't stop, and finally the grandfather got up, went to the table, grabbed the child, and spanked him---then and there. The mother wailed child abuse, the father was embarrassed that his father had to be the disciplinarian. The serving staff tried to clean up the mess, but it was too late for one elderly aunt----she didn't see the smashed cannoli on the floor, and she slipped---breaking her hip. She died four weeks later. Her death was a wakeup call for the family:
no children at weddings. If you don't like and don't want to respect the couple's wishes, then stay home with your children. To be honest, you may not be missed in the least.

If parents will spank there kids this won’t be happening…. To avoid child abuse, child free wedding is the best

How many weddings has the lady been to? I’ve attended a handful in my life and never saw people acting out like this!

As a teacher marrying a teacher, we have both seen firsthand how unpredictable, small children can be. Our wedding is in September, and only children 13+ are allowed to attend.

I’ve never been to a childfree wedding but I can see the point in it, my cousins baby is crying all thru the ceremony on my wedding video. I didn’t notice it at the time but she was apparently next to the video camera.

The bigger problem is the parents that don't keep watch over their children and the kids know that their parents are distracted and not watching them closely.
Or worse, watching their kids acting up and doing nothing about it!

That’s the problem if not who cares if kids are there… watch over your babies and no one will notice

A wedding is meant to be an elegant adult affair. There is no kids menu, sometimes long ceremonies and speeches, and alcohol. It is not suitable for children. I saw on instagram someone suggest having a "activities table" to keep the kids entertained and out of the way. It's not craft time its the couples special day, and usually an expensive one at that.

Any person who wants a childfree wedding is clearly missing the whole point of marriage..... marriage is to be bound to one person until death do them part and to bring forth new life AKA children. Any marriage that does not have openness to procreation is pretty much null and void. Weddings should be family friendly and accommodating of children to some degree because weddings are essentially a family-centered event... You saw a kid destroy a $2000 wedding cake? The better question is: what kind of idiot would spend $2000 on a perishable item in the first place? Weddings are ungodly expensive nowadays. My grandparents who have been married for almost 65 years had a simple church wedding with nothing more than cake, a bowl of nuts, and some drinks. Yet, people who spend tens of thousands of dollars barely make it past 5 years!! What a joke this society is to degrade the nuclear family and treat children as though they are an inconvenience so that they can get their celebrity limelight moment.

If parents take proper care of their children
No one will complain living the kids unsupervised? Who will do the job for them?
How much a couple wants to spend for there wedding is up to them(if they have the money to lavish cool)
But you comparing 65years ago with 2023 😵‍💫( hope you know the cost of things nowadays?

“A wedding without procreation is null”??? Yuck…..

    • @Happytown7523
      @Happytown7523 8 місяців тому

@@sally43225 That's not what I said. A marriage without openness to life is pretty much not a valid marriage because it is self-serving and defeats one of the very purposes of marriage. Marriage serves a greater purpose and it is not for self-pleasure. Get over it.

@@egtsparkles Dude, the cost of living has increased, but so have people's living standards and materialistic expectations. People are more consumerist that ever and are almost looking for ways to throw money out the window. A simple 3-tier cake, a bowl of nuts, and some non-alcoholic beverages and maybe some music are all that are needed for a nice time with the right kind of crowd. You place so much emphasis upon the after-party, but people seem to be forgetting that a wedding is all about the vows and ceremony itself!!!!

I see nothing wrong with no kids because kids will get into pretty everything plus you got parents that don’t really look out for their children running around like crazy
