Thank you for the video. I just pulled the bearing out because it wouldn't rotate anymore. I cleaned the bearing that was seized and reoiled it with good stuff. I cleaned and put o-ring silicone on all the seals and it's working again. I mounted it right side up, so hopefully water doesn't get to the bearing this time.
I liked the video very informative. Have you ever encountered the wyze pan v3 were the red light remains lit and doestn move and doest pair if so do you have afix for it also .thanks in advance
My “setup” button felt inside and even though I managed to get it back where it should, it feels like it’s not connected with anything. I have a hard time seeing to what it’s connected in your video. Can you help me figure out ? Thanks !
Thanks for this video. Have several Wyze Cam Pan v3 cameras but only one mounted outside. IP65 they are NOT! Two in the same location have failed. One, the larger bearing was totally corroded and frozen. Replacement bearing of much better quality fixed that camera. The second, black and only in service two months developed a motor clicking noise (larger of the two motors) but when opened up, I found the camera was full of water. They are inexpensive, but certainly not weatherproof as advertised. Can you advise how to acquire a replacement motor? Thanks
Thank you watching, and sharing your experience. I honestly never used them outside ! At this moment I do not know where we can source motors, let me check around
Would be interesting to see which voltage conversion components are used to see if it can be powered from 6-7V over long wires so that voltage drop at 1A still makes it > ~ 4V
I was interested in what kind of antenna it has. My cameras keep disconnecting from my internet. The only cameras are the pan V3. I believe Wyze cam V3 has an inferior antenna. All my other cameras work fine and have never -90 disconnected.
I have 2 questions, one simple, one crazy, just looking for your opinion. 1) Can the lens be unscrewed and replaced (as with OG, V3). 2) This is a bit crazy, but do you think the actual camera could be swapped out with a V3 Pro? Either sensor or whole board. Thanks. Amazing videos!
@@InsideOutElectronicsCould you possibly swap with v4 or post a video of you doing a cam swap with OG, V3Pro, or V4? That would be a great video! 🎥📸 #camSwap #V4 #OG #V3Pro
question: Bought a bunch of Cam v3 and older Cam Pan v2 and setup them for a relative in a rural area. (complete with the wyze external power cable even though some were inside) Well a recent storm knocked them all off the net. Its an older relative so I will need to actually visit (hours away) to determine the actual damage (adapter or cam). What has been your experience on storm damaged wyze gear? (I'm trying to come prepared when I go)
No experience, are they not connecting too WIFI or they are completely dead ? May be someone of the viewers can speak, but so far after all thunderstorms it is all good
@@InsideOutElectronics I'm told that Wifi works. I'm going to assume that I need to do a full replace, bring surge protectors, etc, and hope some can be recycled. The cams were a soft security blanket, they liked to watch critters that went bump in the night.
Nope, everything goes via the so called cloud. No cloud no service AFAIK BUT I think there s notion of flashing open source firmware - something I did not researched yet
There is a video from about 3-4 years ago. I cannot remember exactly where or when saw it. But a guy with considerable network protocol knowledge figured out how to intercept the signal from within your local wifi network. If memory serves, he just monitored the data packets sent from the camera each time it connected to the wifi network until he figured out the digital hand shack that was occurring.
