The zeds have always been a little glitchy. From pinning you in a corner and then somehow ending up behind you and hitting you. But, overall, I think the zeds have been pretty predictable, enough so that you can still survive their attacks. On occasion, I will swing at a zed and my melee weapon will pass right through them without affecting them. But, it hasn't been bad enough to quit the game. At least not recently. And I know that coding games can be quite difficult and time consuming. So, I try to keep playing and adjusting to any quirks in the meantime.
The core game is so good. I get people want a smooth experience.. but damn I appreciate all the work they put In. I honestly don't even play anything else anymore.
I don't mind the being pinned in a corner per se as I've always felt that it was something they should do as Zeds, It just needs to be refined a bit. Maybe a grapple animation that you could break? But if there is more than one then your chances to break out is much lower.
@@AlwaysStreams the biggest problem is there's no financial benefit to this outside a dlc so it will be years away. second problem is pc modding scene is now so superior to vanilla that any dlc will get bad reviews and poor sales on pc. So bohemia are now stuck relying on the console market to fund thier game with very sparse dlc. if it means better support I'd be happy to buy a smaller yearly dlc. they should also charge a 'seasonal' fee for experimental server. 10 bucks every 3 months to access experimental and try new features. Running a live service game on 2 dlc's in 10 years is madness.
Theyre so ridiculously easy to deal with without ever even taking damage. Jump on any elevated surface like a car or sandbag and punch down, or lock them in the nearest building. Supressed weapons no longer alert them and you can kill them even quieter with the stealth kill mechanic. Crossbows are by far the best zombie killer the game has to offer. They represent 0 threat. Theyre about as easy to deal with as any Skyrim NPC when youre playing an assassin character. Walk up behind and stab then move on with your day. The solution is make them able to break through closed doors and climb up on the same objects players would be able to. Also make them faster so you cant just infinitely run away from them on servers that use unlimited stamina. I have no clue why the devs keep making zombies easier and easier to take care of while they already struggle to be a present threat. They're more of an annoyance than anything
my biggest problem with them is how random their pathfinding ist. they either loop you 200 times or even ignore you when you punch them and bolt straight to your duo who is like 30 meters away. thats just beyond annoying
This game is a MOD of a pc game from a decade ago that was "ported" to consoles, people think devs can just fix the AI lmao, my opinion is work on something like a DayZ 2.0
@@tommylookup I dont understand why you would say that? The people who are in the know of the engine and DayZ AI can instantly say that your statement is just plain false. So why say it? Like why make such a statement, with such confidence, when you dont actually know?
I definitely don’t mind paying money, even a lot more money, throughout the year or years, but I just worry that the actual original game would be lost. So hopefully it doesn’t become ruined by too many changes. Maybe if they could just add on more maps, add Different vehicles, add base building options, something like that.
I started with Arma 2 dayz mod. The gameplay loop was a lot more fun when it involved acquiring better and better vehicles, even going onto acquiring crappy helicopters or a bushplane. The base building was better then too. I know DayZ SA has a different design and has been improved in many ways but seriously, vehicles are AWFUL in this game. I really think the devs should make the switch to Arma 4s engine as soon as possible. I think the world’s ready for a new DayZ SA.
@@tiko4621 Basebuilding was not in the actual Arma 2 DayZ mod. It was introduced by modded variants like Epoch, Overpoch etc. The mod just had tents. Basebuilding is not a legacy feature at all. Also, parts of DayZ are already running on Enfusion. The parts that arent are probably such spaghetti code, that they would just have to rewrite it, so practically make a new game. Why would they make a new SA, if they can release a recycled Arma 3 map for the game, ask 27e for it and people will buy it like crazy? They created a money machine, especially with console players: make a popular game, starve its audience for content, make new content with little effort and high pricetag.
To be fair, I've considered the AI fixed since 2012 when the zombies stopped glitching thru walls lmao, being able to close a door when being confident that zombies won't just walk thru it is enough for those of us who played ArmA II
Yeah, I feel the same way; they're a bit jank, but I think the way they function works fine. If anything, maybe more or cooler animations for them would be alright though.
I've been saying this for years!!! Also would love to hold to squint (zoom) when looking around. And another option when vrinyuo the quick wheel to select a weapon. I'd love to add a button press to the wheel rather than spin to the desired location. I still often select the '4 o'clock rather than 5' in the heat of the moment
buy a controller where there are paddles. I always get the $40 aftermarket controller with paddles for leaning. When I want to lean, I just squeeze left or right.
I am not fond of the AI, but it is not such a big problem, bigger problems in my opinion that needs to addressed is the cheating, yes I did watch the whole interview where he also touched on that. But Arma 3 have a better reporting than Dayz so I am a little disappointed. Thank you for keeping us informed
Fingers crossed the devs figure all these things out. They've got all this to do, plus they've just released a DLC they're continuing to support. It's quite the workload =|
Sometimes I think the cheaters are devs. I know a 100 percent way of baiting a cheater. Get geared in 1 server, then move to another server. Within 2 minutes you will be killed by a "cheater".
@@TheAverageGamer1When you get hit with perfect shots that are totally silent in a place no one should have a good shot on you. Especially if you're geared.
All I want is actives admins on the PC official servers to finally ban cheaters .. the community servers makes dayz playable but its not right, bohemia made MILLIONS of dollars from the sales of frostline and Arma the past few years, they should do something about the biggest issue of dayz, the state of officials servers.
@@JamesHigroundMagicCommunity managers who can detect hackers and dupers and wipe their bases and item stashes from the game while simultaneously banning them from the game. It wouldnt be as expensive of a fix as you would think.
Theres community servers with completely vanilla settings. BI doesnt care about the DayZ audience enough to actually do sth about the cheating, as shown with Frostline, they rather pump some money from the game while they still can. Dev't was slowed down to a crawl when the game was launched unfinished in 2018, for consoles too. There was promises that console dev't wouldnt affect the PC side, but in reality it made them push for a way too early release and then cut down costs with a skeleton crew left to dev the game. Thats why theres been so slow progress with any updates in the game since 2018.
Another MAJOR factor in revamping AI is that it will affect server performance if complexity is added. And in DayZ, EVERYTHING comes down to server performance. It is a super fine balance. Also, that ties into something you mentioned as well - We buy DayZ once, in my case I paid $30 for it over a decade ago, but servers are not cheap to run. I've paid fractions of a penny for every hour i've played, i've certainly COST Bohemia money. It's why almost all live service games have microtransactions or subscriptions.
They sold 4 million copies (without accounting sakhal and livonia maps) wich translates to $120 million dollars for a 80 person studio that worked on an already created engine while adapting a mod (no engine from scratch, no original idea came from them) Its super profitable, otherwise they would have shut down all servers. The engine is the one they choose to make dayz, cant blame someone else. Cant blame someone for sticking to it 10 years later. True dayz veterans know the real issues in the game and know how profitable the game is even with its flaws. These new wave streamers mostly have no idea about what they talk about, people in comments also have no idea. If you played community servers you will know that community modders came with a solution for every single problem every single time. 10 years later still bugged ai, no ragdoll mechanics, no chance to drive cars... but you know what bohemia did? A $40 bucks new map... for people like you that thinks the game isnt profitable or some crazy delusion. The real problem in the community is people like you that have no idea and has some kind of stockholm syndrome. Sumrak, (Adam francu) same creator of namalks, came out with the money grabbing sakhal map. WHats new? Absolutely nothing, we had boats and planes 10 years ago and now people clap at some new boat thing. Same old houses, same old assets, same old everything but re painted. Now, you can continue talking nonsense and contributing for the game to be kept in this "forever-undeveloped" state.
@@maksimkharbyshev4525 You actually don't know what you're talking about. They had to rebuild the engine for DayZ so that it would have the security of the "network bubble". If you actually PLAYED the Arma mod you'd know how bad cheating was, there was no way to stop it. Its true we don't have helis in DayZ but it is a custom engine, very much different from the one from 10 years ago. I'm sure when the release DayZ 2 on the full Enfusion Reforger engine you will also think that's a scam. For people like you, that narrative is just a major part of your identity.

Lmao well you’re welcome to hold you’re breath for day z 2 😂 it’s not coming until atleast Arma 4 drops , also base building needs a re work more then anything … get you’re priorities right.
I'm up for any changes, see what works! Having the infected get progressively harder the more in land you go would be a good idea, either way the infected aren''t too much of a problem for me! I will miss seeing them randomly on the roof of a building tho, it's kinda cute
Consider how many people would try to escape to a roof or other elevated position .... possibly getting infected in the process. I've always thought seeing them on roofs made sense.
@SurvivorKyle yeah that'd be an amazing surprise 😂 just imagine using the usual tactics run in a house and hide then the door start getting rattled by infected, be scary as F
The most frustrating thing in Dayz are the hackers who kill you with a bullet through the wall that goes straight to your head. and who can also multiply items. It's very frustrating to lose hours of gameplay to a hacker.
You can multiply items without even hacking. If they got rid of server hopping then it would fix that to my understanding. But with how the recent loot changes went, it seems they would rather encourage server hopping than stop it. Which means duping will be all that more common.
There should be significantly more infected spawns added to the map in towns and cities and significant more added to the military areas too. Then adding wondering hordes that trek through the woods in random directions would give for a nice filler in the very vast empty maps.
It's just time for a new game. In 11 years, they've released 3 official maps for the game, and I understand that the game is a far cry from what is began as but at this point they are just wasting resources continuing to dev the game. Bohemia flopped with Vigor but proved they could make a graphically sound game with elevated gunplay. DayZ has been a great journey to be on for all of these years but if the bonanza that was The Day Before taught us anything it's that there is a GENUINE thirst for a POLISHED Triple A, Massively Multiplayer, Zombie Survival experience. It's time for SOMEONE to give us what we all want.
This! Exactly nailed it. Another thing dayz taught is in all these years is that bohemia is too stupid and incompetent at coding and talent hiring, so this "new game" that the market is demanding it wont come from them. They will continue to squeesh the lemon until the last drop of juice and then they will dump it.
Seeing how far Expansion Mod's Bandit Ai has been improved, i'm sure they could make zedz much better but it comes down to the balance like you explained in the video 👍
I am not familiar with the mod, but i'd have to wonder how it might affect server performance. Server performance is everything on DayZ, and adding more elaborate AI would likely have a huge impact on it.
@@1emiliobering 😂 you realize the developers spent a lot of effort to make the game moddable, right? Not only that but they PROMOTE and enable the modding community to exist.
To be fair I would prefer to paying for new DLCs because I want the devs to be able to do more for the game, some might not agree with me but this is one of the few that is actually what I want out of a survival game. So I would happily spend money on it because that's how much I love the game
On my server, The Horde on Xbox, I made my infected have a chance of poxing you, flash banging, or claymore explosion when they die. Makes it real challenging. I also figured out how to add the pox grenades to the regular loot pool in such a way that you have randomly poxed buildings, shed ,etc. The PvE is extremely difficult
more dlcs but at lower price.. i dont need something crazy for a dlc but i also dont wanna throw 50$ every time.. 15-20 max and regulary is fine with me. imo it's no different than an app subscription or going to the movies or buying mary j juana etc. players who complain about giving games money have zero idea how the world works.
I think you pretty much summed it up but the biggest complainers are dudes with 9 billion hours. Even though the game is really old, it’s still gaining new players, and the people who waste their time online whinging about a video game, don’t care about new players’ experience.
I got a couple ideas. 1. Levels. Give player levels or hours based. Like 1-2 servers per region for players under 200 hours to learn together. They don’t have to join then if they don’t want, but it would be beneficial for them to learn there. Lower infected damage. Option 2. Lower level basic infected on coast. Basic pathfinding. Level 2-3, upgrades zombie health, damage, speed and pathfinding. Can detect you a couple extra meters away. Like idk 2 meters per loot layer. Level 4 area (like tisy) best zombies, pathfinding much better. Can open doors by hitting them. Name of the game has always been high risk high reward. It would be cool to see more dangerous zombies in high military. Maybe even like let the officer zombie push you off the concrete filled hesco barriers that everyone climbs up on. I really honestly wouldn’t mind seeing another specialty zombie that can open doors or climb tall objects like we can. Just make it rare and in special areas like the officer and armored zombie
No, dayz is brutal. Dont water it down, this is typical yankee behaviour, ask for the game to be changed and then dump it and complain because the game lost its soul. Dayz doesnt need to get easier for you to enjoy it, you need to get better at it.
There are existing mods that add variability to the infected. Some spawn moving slower, some faster, some more damaged and some stronger. They can spawn in already crawling. There is alot that could be done immediately to make them a more interesting feature without changing the underlying 'AI' at all. Only changing the characteristics when and how they spawn into the game and possibly enabling additional infected models with more slots for clothing variety.
I've only been playing for a few weeks, and had my best start yet. Got to a town, and got mobbed by zeds. They would not let me close the door to escape them. I was truly pissed. It had to be atleast 7 zeds.
to answer the "would you pay to have more DLCs" my answer is yes! with 5k plus hours on the game and many more games loaded on my Steam, i always find myself coming back to DayZ so i would gladly spend money to have new content. No other games out there can provide these kind of adventures.
I bought the game somewhere this year's late summer/begin Fall and it just clicked. If trying to create your own server with a couple of adjustments is already a bit of challenging and tedious work, then AI would be absolutely difficult. I wonder if there is a way to donate or invest in BI, because honestly I think they made a cool game to spend many hours in and am grateful thereof. I simply hope they'd add a Horde Server (on Console) in addition to Official and Community Servers, because making the Infected a bigger threat would add more difficulty and even depth in Player interactions; The Prisoners Dilemma whether a Player will kill you or not would be affected by getting killed by a Horde as a consequence. Items like the WalkieTalkie or BaseRadio might be used more often to ask for help.
I miss the older version of dayz from like 10 years ago, I just had more fun back then. For me personally I didn't mind the issues as the game just had more atmosphere and a raw feel.
I know its far fetched given the state of zombies but i would love to see some variety in the zombies more like they are in the walking dead. Like some are missing an arm or their legs, maybe have some of them stuck in the envoirement or have bloated ones in the water. I think this would make them feel way more ‘realistic‘
They are NOT 'Zombies' as in 'TWD', they are INFECTED. Not 100% sure on the backstory as I don't thing Bohemian actually made one. They are infected ALIVE.
The infected need to be able to climb small walls and cars by now. That would be a nice improvement to difficulty without going too far with it. Side note. This game has planks, nails and hammers but no option to board up windows/doors which would make a huge difference to game play. Could act as temporary bases while you cook/heal/repair gear. Players could still break in but take more time than a lock pick but less time than a wall.
They could include player stats that can increase with overtime regardless of the avatar you use your basic survival stats and also some micro transaction such as: a first aid air drop crate that you can purchase in game and will appear as a crate in front of you; even purchase a basic survivor starter kit containing a plastic bottle, tinned food and a mele weapon to get you back to your base and back into the fight. Skins for weapons, avatar attributes and clothing but also keep the abilty to play the game in the long run. Just don't make weapons purchasble because it removes the risk of red zone exploration 😊
I think they really should just add some other way for us to fund the company so they improve the game. Even if it’s like cosmetics or skins like rust, funding is truly the issue and I think I can speak for most the community when I say that we would all love to see the game improve, and given the opportunity, we would all do a part in funding said improvements.
I think, although usually tacky, they could introduce cosmetics to unlock for your base custom character. Maybr skins for helmets and such like PUBG where wearing them changes the pattern. That's be a great way to keep the game funded
I agree with the dead more inland would be cool to see them a bit smarter like waiting you out in a way to provide a jump scare idk something like that just glad they are addressing community concerns and are looking to make an effort to provide some change
I keep saying, offering modders the chance to have paid work for a fee by adding the best mods to there game and adding dlc game modes they could do just that. Hand chosen mods that would keep the modders working and the players playing. For Example Battle Royale, Deathmatch, Flag Capture, Conquest, Squad Battle, Survival, Harcore and easy modes. Large and small maps. The list for DLC doesn’t stop at maps. But give the proven modders the chance to a payday for their hard work and benefit from it in the long term. Giving them credit/rights to what they have made in their time spent.
They need to bring back the one hit quit with sharp objects such as axes, hatchets, and pick axes. That would be more realistic. Something else that would be cool which I don't think the game mechanics work this way. I believe that when you enter an area the zombies spawn, but if there is a way to determine how long those zombies have been in que or spawned and then make a mechanic to where they degrade over time, so in the beginning they are fast and tough, but as time goes on they become slow and easy. I know this is probably beyond capabilities, but definitely think it would be a cool feature.
2 things broken with zombie AI that needs to be fixed sooner than later; A- zombies can hit you while facing and striking in the opposite direction of you which absolutely breaks the little bit of realism we have with zombies B- zombies running around and around and around a door entrance instead of just coming in, super annoying when you are being stealthy and accidentally trigger 1 zombie but you can kill it because its just running in circles. Those 2 things alone would make zombies more tolerable and less annoying in game without changing game play.
I think its also hard to decide bc there's different people with different playstyles. People who play PVE would prob love it, but people who PVP would prob find them even more annoying lmao.
What pisses me off is that all of you content creators act like BI is still a small studio, Arma is THE milsim game and sold over 100k copies in the first week on PS alone, Frostline sold over 300k at the end of October, and Vigor where EVERYTHING is overpriced surely has enough players to provide a decent income stream. On that note it’s good that if you change the Z’s AI it messes with all the others because they’re all terrible, wether it’s wolves jumping through walls or fucking flying bears the whole damn game needs reworked because all they do is add mid updates no one asked for just to keep the community busy for a month. Also let’s all stop acting like Sakhal was good, the map is tiny and looks like shit and runs terribly compared to maps created by normal people on their own time.
Sakhal is smaller, not small, it's a big difference. Also, there's not a single map that even get close to the beauty of Sakhal. Visually Sakhal is the best looking map and its not even an arguement. Sure, some people might not like it, but thats how it is with every map.
@@isbjornen7418it’s literally not, sure you can get a few decent screenshots in some places but there’s plenty of spots where textures clip or are even comparable to PS2 graphics.
Arma, DayZ, and Vigor are popular, but popularity doesn’t mean unlimited funds. DayZ's revenue doesn’t all go to flashy new features-it supports server maintenance, updates, bug fixes, employee salaries, advertisements and promotions, subcontracts, taxes, insurances, hosting feeds, future development and dozens more things. Creating and sustaining games, especially with complex systems like DayZ’s AI, isn’t cheap or quick. Relative to the output, it’s a tiny studio compared to those who have 20k employees. As for Sakhal, it’s a good map. You might not like it, and that’s fine, each to their own. But the majority of people who bought and played it do, it’s had lots of praise and support. It’s completely unique and stands out. It also brought with it a whole heap of changes and improvements that the other map modders have implemented to their own creations. So not only is Sakhal a great map on its own, but it’s literally made every other map better too. All from a small studio.
As long as the zeds don't spot you from miles away or hears you crouching SLOWLY when they update the zed ai then I'm curious to see how they can improve on it.
I always thought that a quick and easy monetization form would be to add new paid survivor heads every now and then. They wouldn't affect the core game and it would be an affordable way to support the developers
I wouldn't mind them fixing Zs 6ft reach or the agro from 1000 yards away. Some want more challenging Zs so make the Zs more like walking dead Zs and add more of them but on same hand just find community server that already have harder or more of Zs. Also a 1 blow strike would be nice like an over hand axe chop vs standard haymaker swing. As always thanks for your vids they help alot!
If they want to retain new players, it's exactly AI that needs fixing, because that's what they will experience the most. Better doesn't mean harder, but more responsive and logically behavioral. Now it's as easy as it's glitchy, and it's never fun to die on outdated mechanics.
As far as I'm concerned, there is no need for a massive overhaul on the ai. Continued small improvements to the way they interact with the environment like not glitching through objects and being on rooftops for whatever reason is all we need. Keep attention on the cheaters and crappy cars and adding new stuff like spray paint.
Money is definitely always an issue when trying to produce something. Maybe if the devs can figure out how to add more ways for their players to spend money on the game like in game cosmetics. This would be very interesting to see what they could do. But it would be sad to see all the free updates but I want to see this game thrive and if they don’t have enough money to make that happen I wouldn’t mind buying a new character model here and there to expand my game cosmetically. Or maybe they could add a shop where you can purchase new tshirts and pants, maybe even hats. Anything that would keep the players starting the same as you would on vanilla but your character can be customized to be more your style idk just a thought.
The main thing they should change which would be better but also not going too far from original design is animations and movement. Especially animations of zombies to make it less stiffy and movement of cars to make it more smooth and less bumpy.
throw together a cheap pc,i can play it with a $100 graphics card easily(gtx 970)16-32 gigs of ram and a reasonable processor......should be an easy $400-$500 build and the community servers have all you want
I think AI should be adressed as soon as posible but... a subcription method or some kind of payment for every patch will disrrupt the equation and then you´l have updates than no one asked for and you´l have to pay in order to play on your favorite server because your game its not up to date... So, i think BI should give some rewards to experimental players (discounts, badges steam wallpappers idk something), every single patch that landed on stable version had issues even after 2 o 4 week of experimental. BI should decide the path that they want to take with their product, but a single patch to fix simple gamming issues (hand buggs, screen error on logg on, error on logg off, arm shots and so on) would be like a breath of fresh air to the community.
I think a kick start type thing would work the fans will come together an donate to keep the updates a the game mostly like it is, but adding funding to directly fix problems 🤷🏽♂️
Infected AI definitely need to be updated, just hoping it will not break my PvZmoD! Note that devs already said they were working on AI and they considered to update then durring 2023 but they finally deleted this upgrade because they said it is too much complicated. My side I hope the success of Frostline DLC bring them the money to work on this thing and as a modder I hope they will bring us an easy way to just say "go here" to a zombie. (I spent tens hours trying to do it without success)
Dunno if others is having this problem but my server won't appear on the browser and it physically won't start. It's recently started acting up about 3 days ago now.
@@mitch34448 That is true but it should not be like that if the shooter is a few meters away. Even sometimes when the shooter is a decent way away and shooting at me zombies will run from his location to me.
@mitch34448 I don't hate one or the other. In fact DayZ is my all time best game. The point is that the AI of the zeds should be improved. In fact the devs are working on this right now.
Each infected are manageable. Many aren't. Dealing with them makes you vulnerable to other survivors. The developers take inspiration from mods that become popular. Which infected mods do you see most often?
This is a bit of a throw in the dark but what if the devs make it so either certain z’s are stronger like military or hunter etc. or maybe make it so z’s become harder as you go more in land with the main MB’s having the hardest like zybor military or NWAF, Tisy and the gassed mb near zeleno? Maybe then it could be easier for fresh spawns to get a start and learn to deal with zombies more as they go inland! (This is just a shot in the dark though so do not hate give suggestions to the idea)
Another thing is they tend to add a weapon with each update. I think weapons are in a good place I would really like to see a building upgrade even if it’s just adding door and window barricades or hell I’ll even take digital code locks
They could add all three of those building upgrades, not having those three specifically are why I don't build much other than maybe hiding some storage boxes
i think the combo approach is best. engine/ai improvements in free updates that coincide with new dlc maps, maybe dlc hair styles?, idk. ive put so much time in that game id just donate to bohemia interactive if there was a button for it lol
I love DayZ. Started on console and just starting on PC. I would gladly pay for a $25-$35 a year for a new DLC once every year or two because it takes money to pay developers to continually improve games.
It would also be nice to have other zombie variants like maybe a juggernaut zombie for ex or boss zombies the car spawn needs fixed cause players hogging all the cars on a map is annoying or monthly car respawns
To be honest I'd rather have a way to spawn in near friends. Makes it so hard to get new players involved. Spent literally real days trying to get friends all together in the same town.
I just started this game about a month ago and at first the Z's scared the shit out of me. Now I know that when you jump on a car, they will become sitting ducks. I like the idea that Z's become stronger the more inland you go
DayZ is made with Arma 3's engine. There are mods for arma 3 where a zombies can grab you, and break down doors. There's also special monster with the mod, that can grab your player and devour the player whole.
If you're unhappy with the zombie AI and want more of a challenge, multiply their numbers by anywhere from 2-10X. Also, you can use the PVZ mods to make them more difficult to kill (on my server, a headshot is pretty much an instant kill for any zombie). This issue of zombie AI is a really NOT important at this point in the game's development. I'd rather have many more MAPS.
Playing Arma on the PS5 made me realize how much updating DayZ needs; it's been out for almost a decade and still has vehicles acting like rocket ships and the lack of content after being out this long tells the players where this game is heading(into the trash)
Stopped playing the game till this fix this issue i can’t even walk around airfeilds with every infected hearing me from 50-60 meters away makes 0 sense and completely ruines immersion

I wish they could add a basic front kick.
UFDayZ
A rear naked choke against other players, if you manage to sneak up from behind would be nice. Imagine choking another player out.😂👌
THAT would be wild. 😮
*Joe Rogan enters the chat*
Yea it does suck that the only kick we get is when prone
I’m 500 hours in and surviving is still a challenge, especially in the snow map. I’m loving it.
my biggest problem with them is how random their pathfinding ist. they either loop you 200 times or even ignore you when you punch them and bolt straight to your duo who is like 30 meters away. thats just beyond annoying

This game is a MOD of a pc game from a decade ago that was "ported" to consoles, people think devs can just fix the AI lmao, my opinion is work on something like a DayZ 2.0
This game is no longer a mod of another game. Just limitations of the enfusion engine
modders have already done this and much much more. it is not an engine limitation. it's a developer limitation.
There will be millions of lines of legacy code
@@tiko4621 Low key...they should give up on Enfusion and just go with Unreal Engine 5...and call it their Enfusion Engine 2...or something.
To be fair, I've considered the AI fixed since 2012 when the zombies stopped glitching thru walls lmao, being able to close a door when being confident that zombies won't just walk thru it is enough for those of us who played ArmA II
...and not breaking your legs anymore from just walking through doors. 😄
Yeah, I feel the same way; they're a bit jank, but I think the way they function works fine. If anything, maybe more or cooler animations for them would be alright though.
2012? more like 2018 with 0.63 and engine upgrade, brother.
On pc in NWAF they still can glitch through a wall in one of the bunkers
All i want them to add is toggle leaning to hold or tap ....it is disgusting feeling on console
@Bloody_Mir that doesn't solve the issue
You can use a usb mouse and keyboard playing with controller is abusive to non community server players
buy a controller where there are paddles.
Ngl I can't tell when I run into cheaters or not
Sometimes I think the cheaters are devs.
Do the math on that project yourself, and how you'll defeat hacks, let us know your proposal
@JamesHigroundMagic as i say, hire actives admins who checks the servers, watch players and responds reportings..
@@JamesHigroundMagicCommunity managers who can detect hackers and dupers and wipe their bases and item stashes from the game while simultaneously banning them from the game. It wouldnt be as expensive of a fix as you would think.
@@JamesHigroundMagic i fixed it ... i deleted the game lol play reforger new dayz will be on that anyway 😂
They sold 4 million copies (without accounting sakhal and livonia maps) wich translates to $120 million dollars for a 80 person studio that worked on an already created engine while adapting a mod (no engine from scratch, no original idea came from them)
Its super profitable, otherwise they would have shut down all servers.
@@maksimkharbyshev4525 dude crying over 30 bucks he spent a decade ago for a game he obviously continues to play.
@@mikeywalker3778 I guess its easier to try to attack me instead of debunking all my argumetns. Nice ad hominem try, didnt work, sorry.
@@maksimkharbyshev4525 Just think about the hours and days and years you have gotton out of your 'veteran' career as a Dayz player. You obviously still play now. I think you got your moneys worth, right? For that $30. And here you are 10 years later moaning about it. If you hated the game and the devs, you'd have stopped playing a very long time ago.
The AI is good enough.
At this point, we're long overdue for a sequel with modern graphics and an evolution on the concept.
Lmao well you’re welcome to hold you’re breath for day z 2 😂 it’s not coming until atleast Arma 4 drops , also base building needs a re work more then anything … get you’re priorities right.
@@Arkskii-gf03 Yeah the straight priority is dayZ 2 not your stupid bases shit.
They need to be able to break open doors, it's too easy just shutting a door in their face.
@@mhicaoidh1 That actually makes sense, never thought about it that way!
@@flexdon5188 They need to do that update without telling anyone
@SurvivorKyle yeah that'd be an amazing surprise 😂 just imagine using the usual tactics run in a house and hide then the door start getting rattled by infected, be scary as F
Thanks for the info Mr Streams
The most frustrating thing in Dayz are the hackers who kill you with a bullet through the wall that goes straight to your head. and who can also multiply items. It's very frustrating to lose hours of gameplay to a hacker.
Literally happened to me 2 days ago on a NY ps5 offical server lost like 4 days of work
You can multiply items without even hacking. If they got rid of server hopping then it would fix that to my understanding. But with how the recent loot changes went, it seems they would rather encourage server hopping than stop it. Which means duping will be all that more common.
@@tmoney1487 i think they fixed This , but the dupe Its so commom.
Good summary, thanks for the update, enjoying your content
Much appreciated!
There should be significantly more infected spawns added to the map in towns and cities and significant more added to the military areas too. Then adding wondering hordes that trek through the woods in random directions would give for a nice filler in the very vast empty maps.
Having wolves and bears attack infected would be cool.
😂Its already ingame...
just cause unecessary server lag as the bears are having a war with zombies out of sight somewhere
That used to happen but doesn't seem to anymore, it was both hilarious and handy
@@magnem1043code it so it only happens if a player is within certain distance
@@scooter3343 yeah I remember when wolves would come in to save you from a pack of zeds pinning you in a building. Now they just team up.
I don’t mind a little bit of both. I don’t mind paying for a little bit of DLC if they work on fixing things.
To be fair I would prefer to paying for new DLCs because I want the devs to be able to do more for the game, some might not agree with me but this is one of the few that is actually what I want out of a survival game. So I would happily spend money on it because that's how much I love the game
My favorite part is when I spend 10 minutes stealth killing zombies and I turn around and they just spawn back in
On my server, The Horde on Xbox, I made my infected have a chance of poxing you, flash banging, or claymore explosion when they die. Makes it real challenging. I also figured out how to add the pox grenades to the regular loot pool in such a way that you have randomly poxed buildings, shed ,etc. The PvE is extremely difficult
I think that DayZ is more about pvp then the zombies. Hunting other players. The zeds are secondary.
more dlcs but at lower price.. i dont need something crazy for a dlc but i also dont wanna throw 50$ every time..
I have been trying to put this into words and you are absolutely right.
Love your vids and your humour cracks me up keep it coming lol
Thank you!!
I am stunned, you arent Always Streams? OMG, the audacity of you…… 1:04
I'm sick of living a lie xD
I would love that, great video. I like the free and slower growth, it seems to be working
to answer the "would you pay to have more DLCs"
my answer is yes! with 5k plus hours on the game and many more games loaded on my Steam, i always find myself coming back to DayZ so i would gladly spend money to have new content.
Look! Thay can't fix the ai because of the platform, it's old! 2013? Come on!
It's an arma mod so arma going to do dayz 1.0 it's already on pc and xbox arma just cone to ps5 so we're waiting for updates
Take a look on here bro it looks lit 🔥
You are more than welcome to make your own game if you dislike it so much
I miss the older version of dayz from like 10 years ago, I just had more fun back then. For me personally I didn't mind the issues as the game just had more atmosphere and a raw feel.
For a game that haz Z in the title, it's staggering how we ended up in a place where zombies are the most annoying and unfun part of the game.
Z doesn't stand for Zombies though, but the double entendre is hard to ignore. 😂
The Z in DayZ stands for "Zero" not "Zombie"
The worst thing in DayZ are campers and cheats
I know its far fetched given the state of zombies but i would love to see some variety in the zombies more like they are in the walking dead. Like some are missing an arm or their legs, maybe have some of them stuck in the envoirement or have bloated ones in the water. I think this would make them feel way more ‘realistic‘
They are NOT 'Zombies' as in 'TWD', they are INFECTED. Not 100% sure on the backstory as I don't thing Bohemian actually made one. They are infected ALIVE.
Also, they need to add a push kick and a two or 1 handed push button. Just to give you distance when you're trapped.ik a corner.
Fortifications mod by Dumpgrah would be an amazing addition to board places up
They could include player stats that can increase with overtime regardless of the avatar you use your basic survival stats and also some micro transaction such as: a first aid air drop crate that you can purchase in game and will appear as a crate in front of you; even purchase a basic survivor starter kit containing a plastic bottle, tinned food and a mele weapon to get you back to your base and back into the fight. Skins for weapons, avatar attributes and clothing but also keep the abilty to play the game in the long run. Just don't make weapons purchasble because it removes the risk of red zone exploration 😊
thanks you was a huge help with videos to learn how to play the game while speaking in a calm yet clear voice
I'm glad they were helpful!!
Have the zombie difficulty scale with the loot tier areas.
Hey man! Great video! I don't think we need severe changes with AI I just wish they would stop going inside my character and hitting me lol
I agree with the dead more inland would be cool to see them a bit smarter like waiting you out in a way to provide a jump scare idk something like that just glad they are addressing community concerns and are looking to make an effort to provide some change
If there was a campaign with like a couple of goals and then you can join an official server with just enough to get through
AlwaysStreams and Wobo keeping us educated on dayz
2 things broken with zombie AI that needs to be fixed sooner than later;
A- zombies can hit you while facing and striking in the opposite direction of you which absolutely breaks the little bit of realism we have with zombies
B- zombies running around and around and around a door entrance instead of just coming in, super annoying when you are being stealthy and accidentally trigger 1 zombie but you can kill it because its just running in circles.
Those 2 things alone would make zombies more tolerable and less annoying in game without changing game play.
I think its also hard to decide bc there's different people with different playstyles. People who play PVE would prob love it, but people who PVP would prob find them even more annoying lmao.
The zombies on the bored world are cool. Would like to see them take notes from that
What pisses me off is that all of you content creators act like BI is still a small studio, Arma is THE milsim game and sold over 100k copies in the first week on PS alone, Frostline sold over 300k at the end of October, and Vigor where EVERYTHING is overpriced surely has enough players to provide a decent income stream.
One glitch they should fix is, they should NOT be able to kill you while you're in a vehicle as I was recently killed while in a car.
You havee to love the cheerful comments! LOL Great Video!!
Thank you xD
As a new player zombies are still scary. I think they are too sensitive for detection. But a smarter zombie would be absolutely terrifying
I just want code locks and maybe some basic base building stuff like a front door (a real one not a gate) and openable window covers
This! People be crying about zeds absolutely blows my mind!
We have codelocks. Real codelocks are goofy... Goofy as the plastic bottle suppressors.
throw together a cheap pc,i can play it with a $100 graphics card easily(gtx 970)16-32 gigs of ram and a reasonable processor......should be an easy $400-$500 build and the community servers have all you want
One thing that is annoying is when i throw an item to distract zombies they go to the item and them to my exact location
I would prefer base building improvement and more dlc's as a console player
Sooo my life is a lie i thought your real name was alwaysstreams
There are fences on sahkal when zombies jump over they just jump back around and never chase you
This intro was wild man 😂🔥
😂 Glad you liked it
@ hopefully will have some dayz content on my channel soon too! Thanks for the great videos!
Goodluck with it!
Snowy Cherno map would be crazy
My bigest problem witht the ai is that sometimes there is a guy shooting at me and all zombies agro on me rather then him.
Because the zombies run towards where the bullets are hitting
@@mitch34448 That is true but it should not be like that if the shooter is a few meters away. Even sometimes when the shooter is a decent way away and shooting at me zombies will run from his location to me.
@@abrahamf6124 it what it is man, don't hate the player hate the game
@mitch34448 I don't hate one or the other. In fact DayZ is my all time best game. The point is that the AI of the zeds should be improved. In fact the devs are working on this right now.
@@abrahamf6124 what the game needs is a dayz 2 which is similar to the first but runs off a better engine.
10 years.... Zeds needs a full rework. Close combat need it too.
I don't really care I think most ppl play for other reasons than the zombies
I love DayZ. Started on console and just starting on PC. I would gladly pay for a $25-$35 a year for a new DLC once every year or two because it takes money to pay developers to continually improve games.
I think improving base building is a far bigger issue especially on console considering the huge duping problem.
It would also be nice to have other zombie variants like maybe a juggernaut zombie for ex or boss zombies the car spawn needs fixed cause players hogging all the cars on a map is annoying or monthly car respawns
I would also welcome weapons packs or gear packs you can share across characters. That would be something worth paying for.
I like the idea that Z's become stronger the more inland you go
I think they need to rebuild the game and fix what ever needs to be fixed but leave it the same love dayz
Is there any chance Bohemia can make a sort of gofund for its players even if it’s a couple euros there and there from the community
Stopped playing the game till this fix this issue i can’t even walk around airfeilds with every infected hearing me from 50-60 meters away makes 0 sense and completely ruines immersion
The AI dont need to be "harder" they just need better pathing and responsive. Nobody wants to mag dump zombies
