Seeing dayz doing good to this day warms my heart, I’ve long lost that extra 12 hours a day for Bohemia interactive games 😂 but learning their own coding language as a kid lead to my eventual computer science job
Gotta make some time for yourself.... I know a few guys who still play Mod, Epoch, and Origins (and Exile for A3) regularly, and there's definitely a few servers up that get populated.... you could always go back to them if you don't have the time, they're much slower paced than current DayZ SA, or if you want to play SA without putting in the time, you could always jump on either a PvE server, or a PvP zoned server that way your progress isn't stolen while you're away (jf you build that is). I have yet to try Reforger's "DayZ" style mods... unfortunately, I don't think the couple few of them that were created, ever used the name "DayZ" in the mod whatsoever, but I know there's at least one that's popular and has pretty much everything working, and I know Reforger itself is doing really well on the Mil-Sim side of things.... check out some of Drewski's play of Reforger, you'll be surprised if you haven't seen Reforger play in awhile, I know I was 😅 (I own all the Armas and DayZ stuffs, but I only tried Reforger twice in the first launch week and it wasn't running well for me and haven't tried again since)

When I started on the Bohemia interactive games we had arma 2 free edition and servers like wasteland 😂 idk if dayz mod had even dropped yet
I met lifelong friends on dayz/arma and have even gone cross country with them on vacation, I truly appreciate Bohemia and the modders for the raw passion they put into these games

Once the devs finally give us helicopters.... and the rest of our missing weaponry and missing vehicles, leather crafting, base building and balanced raiding.... the game can finally say it's in a "complete" state... dreadfully, painfully slowly but potentially, questionably surely, it seems we "might" get there....one year 😅 Love what they're doing with Winter Chernaurus.... just gotta find a way to fix the trees that swap back and forth from leaveless to full, get those snow rocks swapped in (why the devs didn't make the rocks do it with snow automatically, nobody will ever know)... Winter Chernaurus is definitely my top 3/4 maps.... Winter Chernaurus, Taviana, Deer Island, and one more that's a rebuild/customization/extension of another super interesting map that uses to be a private server map which both names elude me currently (it's been probably close or over a year since I've been able to play 😖)
