The terrace will form a grand entrance to the stand, with current lawned area and road next to current east stand becoming a large indoor match day entertainment space ( think metrocentre old medditaranean village on a huge scale, and with more class ! 12:11 ) . Gallogate end cantelivers over road as a steep single tier ( like dortmands yellow wall )

Its very good news that the burnabeu arcitect is looking into St. James Park, how is the devolpment with the listed buildings being moved further basck intowards leazes park, i heard that devolpement was being considered by the council, if that goes ahead we might have a slightly bigger plot but still very small in comparison to a few of the big 6 and even outside in europe asnd we may not need to consdier a canterleaver, we may be a ble to modernise it with having the interior feel of the tradtional St. James Park. still i recon it is going to take a decade or mopre but engineering is always moving forward and could speed the project up.

Matty, our owners could build the very best stadium, to rival anything in world football, genuinely money is not a concern, we don't have restrictions do we, we have various locations within the city that could be used, I'm sure of that, i think we would get the go ahead, we could continue to play at SJP, look we all love SJP but the logistics/feasibility for improvement's are mind numbingly difficult, I'm being bullish, but build bigger, better, the best, we have owners who want to be the best, well, they have a chance to do it. We have the money so anything is possible! I think we should build a new training ground with a mini stadium out by the airport first, then once there are redevelopment plans for St. James and it’s under construction play at the training ground - simples! I would rather a new higher capacity (e.g. 80k plus) stadium be built. It shows intent and acts as a statement that Newcastle United are trying to be one of the biggest if not the biggest English football club. Emotional attachment to the old stadium won't help this club reach its immense potential. More fans attending means stronger support and a bigger threat to visitors
Alexander Stadium in Birmingham is a similar size to Gateshead and temporarily increased it to 30,000, I'm sure you could lift Gateshead to 50,000 for the 2 or 3 years it would take to completely rebuild SJP.
Relocation is the only sensible option. But It would have to be massive, impressive and VERY BIG. We could easily go 70k seats but the current plot makes that difficult. It won't get near the SJ metro tunnels. The station concourse is more or less across the road and sunken enough. I'm sure civil engineers can suss out what needs strengthening if they dig down, but it might be more sense to design a whole new home.

I think a problem could arise with potential big sponsors, surely they would be easier to attract if we had a state of the art stadium ? as it is the East stand is very tired looking and dated, demolish and rebuild a triple deck stand like Rangers main stand, the footprint is not too different and with a little jigging could well be the answer, As the East stand only holds around 8/9k at present it would make sense to stay there while a new stand goes up as capacity would only be reduced to around 43/44k which is bigger than anywhere around and only a few k less than the stadio del shite.

East stand is only about 5K so even more reason to get rid ASAP!
