I’ve been eating Frito Pie since the 70s. It’s been a Texas thing for awhile now. However, I do think Wolf Brand chili is better tasting than the Hormel. Every now and then I add a small dollop of sour cream. I’m glad to other people love this simple snack like I do.
We made these for my nephew's college hockey team when they had an away game...they made them and took them back on the bus for the drive back. It was a hit! Skip the beans for sure...especially if you're a bunch of guys sitting on a bus for 2.5 hours.
Why is this the thing i've never known about but always wanted. We literally don't have canned chili nor Frito's in Sweden tho so i guess i'll figure something else out.
It is probably a blessing in disguise you don't have canned chili, it sounds pretty grim, especially when a good basic chili is so easy to make at home.
I’m a virgin. Never had a Frito pie in my life. Saw Gordon Ramsay make his version and saw the comments. So I had to find someone showing how it’s normally made. I found you! Thank you. I’m now going to try it ❤️❤️
Lol just did exactly the same thing. Not a virgin because I camp a lot and this is standard camping food in Canada, but Gordon really fked it up. It's delicious, btw, and you should definitely try it.

My mom was a highschool home economics teacher when I was growing up, waaaay back in the 60's and 70's. She made a recipe called Texas Straw Hats, which was the predecessor to Walking Tacos. They were The Bomb and we kids would ask for them for birthday dinners. That was before individual bags of Fritos were invented. I have 4 sons now, and they and their friends enjoy Texas Straw Hats ( especially late on Saturday night). One of my boys was born on 4/20!

Thanks for the reminder on the Chili Fritos. We have been eating them this way since 1971. I sometimes also add just a little shredded lettuce and a dab of sour cream.
This is how I eat my chili but in a bowl. We skip the individual bags of Fritos and get the big bag put some in a bowl add chili cheese and onions and I do sour cream. Mix it up and enjoy. I have my husband hooked now too.

The birth place of chili fritos is Texas but they call it Frito pie.
You can probably order the Fritos from Amazon and make your own chili. why not?
Amazon will ship it to you.
You can sniff your dogs feet if you at least want to know what Fritos smell like

Frito pie...standard county or state fair food in the south.

For some reason using canned chili seems to work better than homemade for Frito Pies. I’ll frequently add jalapeños.
The man salted his Fritos and added scrambled eggs and dip to the Frito pie. EWW.
You’re the best cook, I swear.
