Awesome version, wish there would have been more songs with shared vocals on the live and studio recordings. It feels like finding some old Genesis track you never knew existed. To relive that feeling is magical, every time.
I weep my ass off! This Song is one of the best songs Gabriel ever wrote, with his wife then! And if I get on to imagine what could have been if PG & PC just sang on as a vocal duet! wow ...
Well yes they were. Genesis from 1971 to 1975 had Peter as vocalist and Phil as drummer. They then worked on Peter's album from which this gig is. and then on countless occasions. Apart from being good friends.
Thanks for this. I was actually there and have a photo of them singing this, taken from their left side and a bit further back. I was thrilled when Collins came on [as I recall banging a big drum as part of the intro to Biko which opened the set] as I'd yet to see Genesis live. At the festival we also got treated to Steve Hackett, The Police, Motorhead, Gillan and many more.
@Peter Sokol Like AIDS, Coronu was never isolated and thoroughly catagorized. Koch's Postulates or the Rivers 7 Rules were never used. You can call me more ad hominems or we can further discuss these matters like adults. Personally, I think you are either an algorithm bot or horribly misinformed on germ theory.
@@rodmorrison47 I know my Aunt didn't die of a "virus" a week ago because "viruses" have never been isolated and identified. How does a "virus" replicate if it has no nucleus? How does a non living "virus" mutate? Sorry for your loss but the whole Corvids story is not true.
Less strong than when peter sings it alone...Peter alone takes it further..Collins is a break and his voice is not as touching...peter is the master, Phil will always stay a student compare to him
I don't agree, I think Phil sounds great, although I think Peter should have been a bit louder in this mix. It was quite common in Genesis tunes too that Phil's higher pitched voice would come through more in the mix, such as in Harold the Barrel.
It's astounding how when Collins is harmonizing with Gabriel it truly sounds like two versions of Gabriel. The their two voices blend so intriguingly.
truly destined to met and make Genesis music special as it is also thanks to that.
i wish phil appeared more on peters albums, his drumming man
he was all over the first three records! a bit on the forth, I think. but yeah, their voices sound ridiculously great together
@@MrDguanoi'm sorry to say that this is not true. Phil Collins played some drums only on the 3rd album (Melt).

In this gig Phil plays drums and they also sang The lamb Lies.. ua-cam.com/video/-1dJbdSTmDs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=illegalalien2
well, i'll be damned. I thought I had heard it all. How wonderful to hear these harmonies from my heroes after all these years. Simply wonderful.

In this gig also they sang The Lamb lies...and Phil played drums in all songs. Reading Festival 1979
Imagine..💕
Two geniuses. In the classic lineup of Genesis, there were five of them onstage.
Those two blokes harmonized quite well. =)
Yeah, they are my idols
Classe, eleganza, bellezza, ...
I never knew Peter and Phil Collins ever worked together. It would have been cool if the two them had been a band.

Andrew Bailey That must've been some concert.
Reading ‘79 . I was there
I just got a recording of this show a few weeks ago. Love it
They did a low Key warm up in Aylesbury the night before with Random Hold(David Rhodes Band) as support best free ticket I ever had.
I also was there, to the right of the stage. A "party seven" sailed over my head at one point. I blame Whitesnake fans to this day.
Never heard this version until today, it's a nearly perfect studio song, but Phil's backing vocals are spot on here.

How true today...
You hold the line❤
Never heard this before but I def like it
I'm in heaven!
Lucky people! what a treat to have seen and heard them together live. Awesome upload!
Wonderful song! I always remember Mr. Robert Fripp playing guitar at studio version (an incredible & unforgettable "tronic"...)
Wow - I never knew this show ever happened! Thanks for posting!

PG+PC=Beyond Fantastic.
Only contender for best Concert is Camel early eighties.
Saw PG 5 Times.
_PG+PC= P(G+C)._
I envy you, mate. 5 times! I haven't saw him once.
I'm afraid I'll never see him live.
How beautiful is this??
Una delle mie preferite!
.......Che bella versione!!!.......Non la conoscevo insieme a Phil......
Beautiful!🌹
Thank you for this Gem of a performance. Going to see Genesis in 2021. An enduring success indeed.
I've never heard this before?! Great to hear them harmonizing again, on one of my fave PG songs.
Bless you.
I so wish they could get past the bull shit.
Dig...
It wasn't bullshit...
They just went in different ways
Deux genies merci de bercer ma vie
a lot of genesis going on over here
Very cool.
Peter, Phil...vi amo ❤
Thank you 🙏
Wow! Thanks.
two of the best ;-)
great
Amazing
it's just perfect..!
He walked...out of the machine
bellissima versione
Ciekawy :) git
Cela fait briller les coeurs..
Gabriel really looks like Billy Joe Armstrong here
😊
👍
Phil child
Pete's a drummer too
Al di là del bene e del male
Phil should have sung on the studio version.
Whoa where the fuck did this come from? OMG what year did this happen?
Which year did that performance took place ?
1979!
@@pevm1914 thanks

Ambas voces son hermosas, pero es terrible lo desafinado que canta Peter en el falsete final.
Si, es un tanto chocante.
Best version. Also is relevant for this new fear of an invisible nonsense virus.
@Peter Sokol Inventor of the PCR test Dr. Karry Mullis. Enjoy!

@@slow-mo_moonbuggy I'm glad we have an expert on birds here to tell us all about corvids. Now fuck off.
I wonder if Fripp was on the guitar.
Christopher cromwell no, unfortunately it is not fripp 😟
if you have fripp, he played effects not arpeggios on stage

Hahahha what a dumbass... 😂😂😂
Phil is one of the best ever, Gabriel is nothing front of him
