You have 3 packs of 5 cells inside Flexvolt in parallel mode (18v) or serial mode (54v). BMS is checking inside each pack of 5 cells if this is well balanced. You have probably one cell dead on your battery. Open it and check voltage I'm quite sure you have voltages like (3.28, 3.28, 3.28, 3.28, 3.28) ; (3.28, 3.28, 3.28, 3.28, 3.28) ; (4.1, 4.1, 4.1, 4.1, 0) so the charger stop charging to prevent overcharging on 4.1v cells. If you have one cell on 4.1v charger will stop charging even if the other are 3v, you have to discharge manually if this is the case.
I have lots of Flexvolt batteries, 15*1, 12*4,9*4,6*1 3 of 9Ah, 3 of 12Ah batteries had same problem, i solved almost all of them Buy a 21v dc charger(similar to laptop charger), peel off cables, make sure positive and negative cables. connect cables to wire terminals, insert the terminals to right polarities of the battery(Left is B+, right is B-) and charge it. Keep eye on it, always check the light bars and volts. Once 3 bars back, use it to a fan or you can diy something run with 18v dc, run it to low, try on charger. If not working do it again. I have 6 problem batteries, fixed 4 with no problem. Gl man.
I've seen a video where it's not seated and there properly... im having thr same issue im gonna attempt to clean the connections seat or see if it's bent
I know with dewalt batteries going into any charger you gotta put them in a specific way or else the charger will say its charged while the battery gauge says 1 bar
I have 3 lights on the battery, two different chargers won’t recognise it. But when I put it into a drill, only the torch light comes on. Has anyone got any suggestions. I’ve tried jump starting it and now there is no spark.
I have the same problem, I don’t know how to solve it

Thanks will keep that in mind 👍
I just jumped mine with another battery. It looks like it's charging again now. I'll let you know if it charges
I have the same issue with my flexvolt battery
Did you figure out the issue?
I got my 12ah battery changed from dewalt, it was still on the warranty (3 years)
Did you manage to get it work until now?
same problem with my 9ah battery
Mine has literally just done the same today
Mine as well :/
Mine do the same
I had a 9 do that. Dewalt replaced it for me.
Hi, how did you get your battery replaced from dewalt? I have 12ah battery same problem
My flexvolt does the same thing except I get 2 lights instead of 3
Try pushing the button and insert it
I have lots of Flexvolt batteries, 15*1, 12*4,9*4,6*1
3 of 9Ah, 3 of 12Ah batteries had same problem, i solved almost all of them

Have you solved it? I have the exact same problem with one of my flexivolt batteries
No I have not found a solution to the problem
I've seen a video where it's not seated and there properly... im having thr same issue im gonna attempt to clean the connections seat or see if it's bent
The Flexvolt battery was replaced by Dewalt under warranty period , plus Dewalt did told me the battery had a problem with bms inside.
I charge my flex volts on the dcb107 or dcb101. They both will charge them
I know with dewalt batteries going into any charger you gotta put them in a specific way or else the charger will say its charged while the battery gauge says 1 bar
did you solve the problem? i have the same problem on same battery
Mine don’t work in tools and does this when it’s on the charger I think it’s something to do with the inside of the battery I do
No I have not found a solution to the problem
Fuck DEWALT. I have four flex 6ah that I bought at the same time. Three do the same thing 1 1/2 years later. Tooooooo much money for shit.
i have the same problem. don't wanna throw it away but I can't fix it either
The Dewalt flexvolt battery is very expensive in Europe I don’t know how much it cost in usa ?
I guess just as expensive
@@ToughnessTestPowerToolEua lot
@@ToughnessTestPowerToolEu 2 for $205
Lol I have a 12 ah flex volt, doing the same thing. And it’s $299

Hard to charge a 20v battery on a 18v charter.
This is not the US version ( 20v/60v Max ) This is the European version (18v/54v)
@@ToughnessTestPowerToolEu well that makes sense and it doesn't. Wandering why DeWalt would have done that?
They are same, one is for us market other for eu. Both have 20v when charged up, eu version advertises it as 18v.
Supposed to charge on the 115, 118 and the 12 amp charger.
They're the same thing, it's just there's no laws in the USA against deceptive marketing
Take a charger battery
Connect the positive to positive and negative to negative
Balance batteries and should work
Just pull the battery down further on the charger takes a little extra force
