Envious. In 2001, I had a 1980 X1/9 in silver, and had bought a wrecked 89 Prelude that I was going to take the engine from and do this, long before I knew what a K-swap was. Unfortunately, time and money got in the way. Turns out, it was a pretty good idea.

The X1/9 came stock with sublime high revving engines. Why put anything else in them? This engine upgrading is madness and missing the point.
Why put anything else. Simple. It’s slow as hell.
Better keep the original block and build a 2-litre using a Ferrari F136 head.
