You censor too much shit, bud.
And it's obviously for selfish reason (ads) too, because nobody who's looking into Django Unchained is going to be concerned about some "bad words" or...whatever innocuous nonsense you blurred out.
Just go outside of UA-cam for your revenue, and you can do whatever. It's not complicated.
Will Smith felt like Django was more of a side character... This man refuses to share the spotlight with anyone, the two roles definitely felt like co-leads but god forbid Will Smith not be the center of attention for an entire 2 and half hour movie.
Yeah like he just ruined the last Bad Boys by lowering martins screen time and adding to his
Selfish bastard did us all a favor!
@@Wh4L205 he did that?💀
Django is definitely the main character.. think about how much we know about him and how little we know about Schultz.
Will Smith is a taller kevin hearts for sure. Jamie Foxx is phenomenal in everything
There is no way Will Smith would have even come close to Jamie Foxx's performance. The movie is so goddamn awesome! Leonardo in my opinion had the best performance!
Agreed ... Smith wouldn't have pulled it off.
I think it has more to do that Jamie Fox just looks tough while Will Smith doesn't
Agree. Will Smith couldn’t have played Django. Jamie Foxx was the man. My favorite portrayal was Christoph Waltz personally.
yeah I think that Smith probably turned the role down not because he thought the character was a sidekick, but because he knew Tarantino expected a good performance from him. Just like Foxx described in the video, I think Smith's ego was too big at this point to get acting lessons from Tarantino on how a slave should talk.
Only other person I could see being Django would be Denzel Washington
I love the subtlety of Dr. Shultz being a dentist. And what is a dentist's worst enemy? Teeth rotting candy. Calvin Candy.
Never put those two together like that. Well done
Also he's introduced hunting down the Brittle brothers. Like brittle teeth
@@VladK95no, brittle is also a sweet treat. “Peanut brittle”
John Travolta being considered for Calvin Candie is new to me. I think he would have been brilliant, but Leo stole the movie with his amazing performance. I do believe Travolta should be in Tarantino's next and supposedly final film.
Great ideal, or
To be fair, Tarantiono's last 3 movies were supposedly going to be his final film.
He written it for kurt russel
Good thing travolta his not good to play real raciste ass hole as dicaprio did but john was the best as vincent varga
While everyone wanted to see a new Tarantino film, i honestly thought the trailer looked kinda corny until i realized later when i saw the second trailer that Leonardo was actually going to play the villain for the very first time in his career , that made me die to want to see the movie & hes playing a supporting role after this far in his career ??? Those are the best kind of villains ever!!! All the famous type casted good guy actors best performances of they're entire careers are when they finally get to play the bad guy , same reason i wanted to see Training Day so bad when the trailer first came out knowing Denzel Washington was going to finally play a dark role , it was music to my ears to discover Leo was finally going to do it because those roles always are amazing & Oscar worthy & obviously i didn't prove myself or anyone else wrong did i???
we need an EXTENDED CUT of Django Unchained
The Snyder Cut
Ikr, i want 4-5 hours versions of them like LOTR etc! I can not believe Tarantino never does that..
Unchained and Uncut
@@ggoddkkiller1342 Fr im also so suprised he hasnt released offically a cut of kill bill vol 1 and 2 cut together we need that.
If Will Smith thought Django was a "sidekick," then I don't think he really understood the script. Django was the main focus of the story and Dr. King-Schultz helped him along his journey. It was fitting he killed Calvin Candie. It was a truly cultured and sophisticated gentleman eliminating the wannabe who fancied himself to be everything King-Schultz was but wasn't (which was also a comment on the Antebellum South).
agree sm
Let me get this straight. He has a problem with a "side character" but not a side dude ok will
@@xavierlugo5296 That was BRUTAL. 😂🤣
Only shows how Will was not the right choice for that roll and for once I like Will Smiths arrogance because it caused him to not be in one of my favorite movies of all time.
It's not about the story for Will, it's about the screen time. If he is not the main man, who is always on screen in every scene possible, being the only focal point of the movie then he is not interested. He is an absolute slut for the attention and won't have it any other way
The fact that this video used a clip of James Brown, when Jamie Foxx was referring to Jim Brown is absolutely hilarious.
Will Smith is a numbskull for rejecting the part of Django. When Tarantino comes knocking, you don't just turn him away!
he has proven that to be true time and time again!
Thank god he declined the role..
@@chichi775 the slap kinda solidified him as a major numbskull. Just to clarify, I am a fan of Will Smith. But the truth be told
Who would have thought we’d all be so damn happy Jamie fox picked it up…
He's also a violent cult member.
Literally EVERYONE who was casted for a role was the perfect person for that role.
Yet another role I am glad Will Smith rejected. Jamie fits much more and you are willing to walk the journey with him, rather than Will.
On the other hand, this movie could have redeemed Smith a bit after WWW movie...
I agree Jamie was the better pick but Ali came out after WWW and Will was nominated and won some awards for best actor in that role.
Jamie Foxx is simply one of the most talented men out there. He was great in this movie.
He does an excellent Trump impersonation.
he was Wanda on In Living Color, limitless range
He’s got such good range
@@beansbaxter224 you’re right…one of the best I’ve heard.
No lie! Comedy, music, acting. Kills it all!
This movie is a true classic. Im glad no other actors were used, especially Will Smith. Wouldnt have been near as good imo
Love how Jonah hill just kind of comes out of nowhere
Lmao Jamie fox’s impression of Tarantino is incredible “and then.. AND THEN”
Love that they mentioned Jim Brown and then showed a clip of James Brown.
Loved the film and thought all the characters were played by the right people. Jamie and Christoph were just perfect together.
Will Smith NOT being Django makes me so Fing happy!!!
I didn’t know Quentin made 2 cameos as 2 different characters in one movie.
Michael K. Williams is the only other actor out of the bunch that could've competed with Jamie Foxx. RIP :(
05:42 he was referring to Jim Brown the football player turned actor.
not James Brown the singer.
My dad and I watched this movie for the first time this year and man did we have a good time. Definitely holding onto this movie for a long time 💯 10/10
It's funny to me that people are still discovering this movie. I remember back in late 2013 somebody recommending Django to without any thought I went an bought it on DVD (sounds dumb now but I still have that DVD). Great movie. I've probably rewatched it a dozen times since then.
We gotta take a second to appreciate jamie foxx as django. Unbelievable performance.
Man will smith really likes to turn down roles that end up becoming iconic
Kinda makes you wonder if that might be self fulfilling, as in it may not have been an iconic role if it had Will Smith’s mediocre acting haha
@@einsteinx2 100%
Could you imagine how obcenely forgettable this movie would have been with Smith as Django?
He probably would have fucked things up in production too. Ennio would show up with his masterpiece "Nicaragua", and Smith would shove him aside like, "Nah, man...imma do my own rap for this scene." 🤦♂
I always felt Jamie Foxx was talking about Jim Brown the football player/ actor not James Brown when he was quoting Tarantino.
He was lol
@@Mojoe70 yeah, just seems odd to me they cut to a clip of James Brown
@@AcidFink666 yes it was odd lol
I'm obsessed with this movie. I think I may have been scarred by it. It toys with a nerve, raw, personal and ever simmering at the core of my soul. But I love it wholly from the first frame to the end of the final fade. Brilliant.
Same. Just rewatched it a couple days ago for the fiftieth time lol
My only really complaint is that Schultz died. Not a flaw with the movie, per se, I just don't like it.
@@theseventhchilde He had to. Otherwise, the movie would have been denigrated to just another 'Great White Hope swoops in to save distressed Negro trope.' It would have underminded the whole point of the movie. (But I can appreciate your sentiment).
I need more Tarantino movies 😢
We all do, buddy. We all do.
Lol. He showed James Brown instead of Jim Brown.
Came to the comments for this! 🤦🏼♀️
One of his very best. And yet had it had Will Smith in it I would never of even watched it.
We need this film on
4k HDR Bluray PLEASE with extended edition
This movie was insanely awesome. Couldn’t imagine any other actors playing those roles.
Had no clue that Tarantino was also in the bag scene
I can't imagine Will's thinking here how can you see Django as a side character Schultz killed Candy because Django did his job his wife was his no.1 priority he just wanted her safe Schultz just couldn't bring himself to have any kind of respect between Candy in that moment and thats why it was him to kill him.
Walton Goggins is a fucking amazing actor.
It's hard to watch and find something to binge but your videos are very good subscribed
Excellent work. Was just rewatching Deathproof for the 56th time and found your channel. Couldn't hit 'subscribe' fast enough.
RIP Sally Menke
I want to believe Candie was written for Micky Rourke, reestablishing Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, a classic of American grime-porn.
your videos are amazing
I don’t know if this is Tarantino’s best film, but it is absolutely my favorite film.
I thought that song was made specifically for the movie. Shit was heat
This movie is a work of art. Pure art. ❤️
I'd love to see Mr Tarantino make a remake of Battle Royale. He's the only person I believe could do it justice.
Worked out perfectly. 👌🏽
To think I've been living my life completely taking for granted the fact that Chris Tucker was not cast as Django....
Yes please to the 200 hour Quentin Ultimate Edit...
Brilliant. Thanks.
michael kenneth williams as django holy
shit
Will Smith is a taller kevin heart. Will Smith wouldn't allow himself to be called the "n" word. Jamie Foxx is phenomenal in anything he touches
Yeah I just don't see Will Smith in the role it would require a chance in tone for the film to work with him and I really appreciate QT keeping the humor and swagger which J Foxx does very well. The meat of Django's story is harsh and hard to watch. By mixing in the music and likeable characters it became something amazing
God this movie was so damn good
Michael K Williams would've had an incredibly unique Django. Would love to see the alternate universe version with him in it
I really want to see the missing part!
Love this movie!
Travolta would make a good candy too
Why did you blur out the gun at 2:11?
One of my favourite films
The cast is perfecto!
1:55 , missing audio of narrator describing tarantino's response to will smith's refusal. The subtitles file and video file do not match.
05:39 lol bad edit…it’s not James Brown the singer Quentin is referring to but James Brown the Pro Football/Actor.
Lol he didn’t even say James he said Jim
That fact that you mixed Jim and James brown up is crazy
Does anyone know where you can watch this?
Man Sacha Baron Cohen and Adam Sandler could have been in a Tarantino film
Tarantino was probably thinking about kurt russel for that candy calvin role
I think the only other person who could’ve done as good as Jamie…is Michael K Williams.
Agreed man, his scar would have become even more iconic
Stumbled upon your channel while wife was having 5th kid. Obviously not literally lol but yeah I'm hooked man. Love the way you take on the subject add little sprinkles folk lore and edit it like a boss. You and or your team do great work. Sincerely a none practicing vid editor and photographer.
The dark night rises came out that year to both great movies
Great video. Only one issue, 5:40 wrong Jim Brown
I'm not sure that's the Jim Brown they were referring to, but a fantastic video nonetheless!! 🤣
I have to say I love this channel, but the impressions, especially the ones for Tarantino ;are so jarring.
Yo what’s that music at 2:28 ?
That beat is hard.
This film is so gooddamn powerful.
My top ten favorite movies
Him saying Jim brown and you editing in James Brown lol
Nice
great video! but man did i cringe when you really cut to james brown when jamie foxx was talking about jim brown the actor 😭 5:41
Thanks Will Smith for rejecting the part of Django!
This could've been a part 1 part 2 film. I would've loved that.
Why is the rifle blurred out..?
1:34 yah, definitely say QT, yuh know, first and last name initials...
What’s the song at 2:41? Please.
What is that song at 19 seconds in 0:18
Tarantino is basically the dramatic version of Mel Brooks. Tell me I’m wrong,
You're wrong
Your name is Jordan, and you're wrong.
@@donkeydarko77 I don’t expect a guy with a name that’s far from a funny pun to even think about what I said.
@@rschneider77 yeah Mel never actually took the time to say what was happening in a time frame from history. He never made it from his view correct. He respected what every group he included in movies that he would use by telling the truth. Tarantino did that with Django. So did Mel.
"tell me im wrong"
*gets told theyre wrong*
"NOOOO B-BUT YOUR NAME IS A BAD PUN"
This movie was just a masterpiece. I watched it with my buddy one night and he fell asleep like half way through 😂😂
What is with the guns blurred out?
Will was petrified of being buried by Waltz, who is multiple levels above him.
Jamie was the perfect actor for this role, glad Will didn’t take it
2:13 Why did you blur the gun
Did you blur the gun? Why?
Leonardo did need some prepping
It was a great movie 🎥
I’m so happy they got Foxx instead of Smith for Django, the movie would be so much worse without Jamie Foxx’s amazing performance
Damn they really had to blur out old black powder guns
I believe that Jim brown Quentin referred is not James Brown who had hated to call him by as Jim even Ed Sullivan did, Actor Jim Brown is the one.
Dee-Jango! Dea-Jangooo!!
#1: physics works differently in Tarantino's world, where a human body can absorb bullets and nothing gets through, except when the hero shoots. Where a woman can be shot in one direction and fly off in another one 90 degrees different. Where bullets make people go flying, except when they don't. Where revolvers have 127 bullets in them.
I love the big blur bars over fucking.
Movie guns.
Jesus christ.
5:40 Jamie Foxx says "You¨re not JIM Brown" not "James Brown". Jim Brown was an NFL football player and one bad dude...
Ohh did I enjoy it...and the cast. About as masterfully done as I remeber....tell me a cast.. not a better cast. A cast that ever done better. Please do
This is a great cast! I think Glengarry Glen Ross has a better cast and they are each firing on all cylinders and at the top of their game. (Lemmon, Spacey, Harris, Pacino, Arkin, and Jonathan Pryce)
@@ReallyVerySomething yeah .Tombstone also. Like music. Sports stars. Many things. I can do a top 20 tie for no 1maybe. The very best ever. Glad it's never my call.
Yrah, Tombstone is great also, excellent cast. Cheers!
No mention of Don Johnson?
I don’t think I would have watched this if will smith was starred in it. Glad he picked foxx
Michael K. Williams as django would have been pretty cool.
I think that the only casting decision that could have gone better was Jonah Hill. His character felt out of place to me.
