We often think of the Mustang as old time rock and roll, but this design would've been the equivalent of EDM or techno-pop in its day. I'll still take the Mustang that came of this.
It was simple. The production volume for a 2-seater would have been much less. Making it a 4 -seater made it more practical ( you could take some in the back seat IF you HAD TO ) and opened it up to the magical many faces of Mustang - a girl's car with the 6, a luxury sporty coupe with a nicer interior, a road racer with a HiPo.
I'M NOT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT FORD, THE MUSTANG WAS A PHENOMENAL ACHIEVEMENT, THE VIDEO HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT THOUGH....AND WHEN OR WHERE DID LEE IACCOCA COME IN, ETC.
@@RonPaulgirls what do you mean wrong? This is literally a video made by Ford, in the early 60s about their new sports car concept, which was followed by another concept and finally the mustang we know in 65. It doesn't have to be the same car, it was a concept to study the idea of a new sports car, from engineering to public appeal.
For the early 1960's this was way ahead of it's time.
Not really. Just a few years later came the Lamborghini Miura and the production Mustang is much more conventional.
It reminds me more of a GT 40 then of a Mustang
.... than of a mustang.

I think the Saab Sonett used the same engine in a front-engine, front-wheel-drive arrangement.
The beginning of a legend
That was an incredible video!!
The best beast¡¡¡
To think that wooden mustang logo would still be used 60 + years later even in the most modern electric mustang .....
The car in this video has nothing to do with the car the world knows as the Ford Mustang. Ford used that name for this concept, and nothing more.
I'm digging it
I could have sworn that I had a Hot Wheels that looked just like it called the jackrabbit special
U probably rite. I out grew hotwheels but everyone made millions off m
Nice project, unfortunately the production car was very different. Very interesting film. Thanks 🙏
Mustang was introduced in 1964. Camaro wasn't till 1967. Mustang created the market Camaro was the late comer.
Steering gonna be easy past about 80mph since those front tires wont be touching the ground.
So the mustang was originally a mid-engined, v4 sports car? Who knew?
That legacy
It had the v4 from the taunus im dead
Russians look at this beautiful car and drink vodka. That is everything what they can do
GT 40 inspiration?
I only wish Ford had the guts to make a car like this... still, I like the Mustang we got.
If only Chrysler made a car like that. They had the guts.

@@johnnyk6666girl's car? Really? It's the 2020s, mate, you can't just say that.
Who played Mafia?
What happened to the other video you uploaded
Back before Dearborn got invaded and destroyed.
Only a 92 cu at that?
Why didn’t they just use a fiberglass body?
Harder to get looking good, needs a structure, Not really a mature technology. Very expensive when in mass production.
Someone should've told that driver he was going the wrong way at Daytona.
Bill France (the owner/builder of Daytona Speedway) himself didn't mind.
Lying fiberglass barehanded, bare arms, bare-faced. Oh, those were the days!
Looks like a coffin on wheels
it basically was one 😆
Now ford has gotten lazy ripping off designs from our british cousins land rovers and aston martin
Has nothing to do with the first Mustang, which was a piece of shit, using Falcon parts.
THAT'S GOT ZERO TO DO WITH THE MUSTANG WHICH WAS THROWN ON A FALCON FRAME WITH SOME NICE BODY DESIGNS.......WHAT A JOKE

This prototype was called the Mustang so it has everything to do with it.
wrong

2 years later.... have you learned your lesson young man ?
