I don't why Tom hated this song and didn't want it on the Album? Gladly, it made it in the US but not the UK album version

It was superstition... Tom had collapsed before this was to be released as a single. He thought it was a bad omen. Most of the singles were destroyed. Too bad, great song!! One of their best!

It would have been polite to at least clean the sheets.

Essa música é muito a cara da minha infância! Eu tinha esse disco do Thompson Twins e adorava colocar pra escutar quando chegava da escola. Uma canção muito nostálgica pra mim! Adoro!

Wow! This is a really good song, I never heard it before today because it wasn't included on their 1996 Greatest Hits compilation, but the extremely mediocre "King For A Day" was. I don't care for that one. IMO, it was the band XTC that did the best ever song called "King For A Day"!

I have a great station in my area that plays a lot of great new wave and 80s. I only became aware of this song a few years as well thanks to that station. Now it's one of my favorite tunes by TT.

@DerVeet This is the original version, at least this was the version that was released on the reissue CD of Here's To Future Days. There is an alternate version of BMG's Greatest Hits album though.

    • @robbiestewart89

Yes, this is the original version of the song that was released back in 1985 on USA pressings of the CD by Arista Records in the USA. Since its original1985 release, Arista Records has gone through several ownership changes. First, being an independent label run by Clive Davis, then tied to RCA Records when Birtlesman Music Group (BMG) bought both labels in the 1990's, and now as part of Sony since they bought BMG's music division.

@weiner1988 This is the original. At least this I elieve so, as this version was released on the reissue CD of Here's To Future Days.

This is definitely the original. I bought the cassette when it came out, and it sounded exactly like this! I was 16 at the time and must have listened to this whole album hundreds of times... until the cassette wore out and the tape broke.
