It's a good dream, I wish you luck and hope you achieve it! :D Mean time, you could always at least have a window/balcony garden, container planting is pretty easy
Davaughn Houck good luck with that I highly recommend it whether it’s as big as this farm or just one acre. I’ve even seen city lots with homes converted.
Spotted their Dutch accent from the first sentence, so cool that they made it work down under. To the people whining about the plastic, give them a break. We are all on a path to true sustainability, and there are always things to improve... many farms still use diesel powered tractors for example. But that doesn't mean they aren't pushing any boundaries.
I’m so excited. I’m moving from an apartment in Southern California to buy land in Tennessee. I’ll be starting a farm just like theirs. These videos are so encouraging. Thanks,!!
The Federal Reserve. I live in Los Angeles myself and I have every intention of getting out of here within the next six months and moving to a place where I can reconnect with nature. I can totally relate. Best of luck to you.
This is the strategy that I embrace in my garden (and channel) in the Arizona sonoran desert. All of my neighbors have compacted clay soil and my yard looks like a rain forest. The secret is in the soil. They cant understand why my soil is jet black and theirs is tan and dead. Its all about symbiosis with fungi and bacteria and the spread of nutrients in that symbiotic web. Thanks for sharing.
Just some more hippies trying to overthink how to make a living, while growing a good product other people will buy. Maybe if they bathed, it would wash away their self hate towards themselves and the earth.
Whether carnivore, omnivore or herbivore, the required mono-cultures are damaging. Fundamentally for the future of food the focus has to be on nurturing our soil. Everything depends on that health. Everything. I moved onto a clay property 6 years ago. My first ever experience of a garden, veggie plot. An acre of jelly in heavy rain. Following the principles of this vid we now have giant veggies, supercharged fruit trees and native bush going berserk. It's mind blowing. Do everything you can to nurture nature, too.
I've been growing my own food since last year, adding more variety each year. It's hard work and a bit of a hit and miss as I'm still learning but I love it.

I love how these permaculture examples show in real that there actually is plenty for everyone if we change our agricultural practices. This is a world of abundance and not of lack.
I really liked this idea. I saw another video of national geography in which the owner of a ranch told that he revived the water table on that ranch which was very very deep when he bought the land. But his simple way of growing grass on the land led to a huge difference . Even the old springs were brought to life. And i think these are the simple things that we all can do and save our environment. And instead of spending millions of dollars we should make these small initiatives. (Nat geo video is -50 years before he bought the land. You should check it out.) Thanks for this video. Keep them coming.
Although I personally do not consume animals for food due to health reasons, I am so happy there are people like you who provide an alternative to the wasteful and even criminal status quo way of doing things.
ohh thats sooo cool!! i was writing. down every information in the video. i have been starting growing zero chemical veggie garden and garden meadows in my farm with waterfalls as my backdrop and lrestine rainforest, i gather leafmold to a specific tree in the rainforest to. extract the humus by mixing with water drain in the streams, they work better in strawberries.. yes i grow strawberries in the teopical climate.. gratitude. for this video.. i learn a lot.., natural farmer in te philippines!!!
We had a wonderful experience offering a CSA in our small Iowa community for 6 seasons. The abundance that can be produced from one half acre of raised beds is astounding. We fed 50 families with just myself and my farming partner. Great video, there is a blooming in the heart as well as in the fields.
what a noble career to be a farmer! but to be a organic farmer is a soul saver, promotes moral, and saves earth. we did it in eastern china. it saved us.
Great film. We are making a conscious effort to buy better quality food and grow much of our own. We also are shifting to support small and family businesses for more goods instead of feeding huge company bottom lines since that money mostly goes to big company CEOs and gives those companies too much control over people. Its time to take our power back. Sharing our experiences and knowledge is key. Thank you for sharing these films. This movement needs to gain traction more quickly and people need to get their heads out of the sand, think creatively and look at the possibilities that can even exist in their own yards. The thing that worries me most is people have become so lazy and complacent.

Gonna scythe instead of mow/till and do no-till organic farming. Sounds way more fun and better for the soil/environment - tilling really disturbs the microbes, etc.
This is great. We believe it's so important for everyone to learn about the importance of growing food and supporting those who grow food sustainably for the community.
