- When it comes to cats, many people think that black cats are a bit more aloof than other varieties, but this could not be further from the truth!
Many black cats are just as nice and cuddly as any other cat. They can be just as affectionate and love a nice petting or cuddle session. You may even hear them purring contentedly as you caress their soft fur!

My black cat Maya was the only one left at the shelter during Christmas season when adoption costs are cut in half. I didn't even see her at first she was just a little black dot. She wasn't chosen by anybody, it still makes me feel sooo bad that I was disappointed that there weren't any other cats to choose from, I was like fine I guess I'll take this one. She has rewarded me 1000x with her affection and love! I love her more than anything on earth and I've had her for 5 years now.
My boy geo was the last one there too, he was so scared and would just hide from all the people, but I adopted him and now he’s my silly happy goblin boy without a fear in the world
Little Mama is a black stray who had kittens under my neighbor's shed. Over the years she went from being frightened, to currently washing herself next to my head. I didn't really make an effort to tame her, it was she who decided I was worth trusting. And that makes it all the more meaningful to me.
Oh yeah, I just finished my morning love in after breakfast with my Bombay cat only only to to be hissed at and I had to move over to the smallest part of the bed to accommodate her. At those times I call her grandma. Grouchy old grandma and move on

I grew up around black cats. They are the best, and the most patient with kids who don't always treat them the best.
Same here that's a great way to put it, I grew up with 2 brothers that instantly bonded with me and my sister separately.

I think black cats are some of the most affectionate I've had the honor of having in my life! Those that think otherwise have probably never given one a chance. Everyone of them have been super cuddle bugs and I miss them.
This is so accurate. My Lexy is the sweetest most gentle baby ever. I love all of my fur babies, but Lexy never hisses, growls, scratches or gets angry or agitated. She is everyone's best friend and nothing but pure love ❤️ she is snuggled right up to me right now as always. Definitely give black cats a chance. It's a shame so many people overlook the sweetest babies they will ever find for ridiculous reasons.
Thats interesting, i thought i had the only black cat that doesnt growl or hisssss, at anything or anybody.
When I was a kid, we had a black cat who just loved hanging out with all four of us. She tolerated being put in doll clothes and being in our little red wagon. She loved my mother's spaghetti sauce, believe it or not! Our mother would give her a small dish and make her wait a bit until it had cooled and then was okay with our mom wiping her face and whiskers clean of the sauce! When we were all older, we had left our home and moved into apartments. It was ideal. If one of us moved to a place where animals weren't allowed, one of us would always have her with us. She lived over 20 years. We all cried when she died.
Love my black cat who wandered in drenched one night it was torrentialrain my boyfriend heard him crying n let him in, he kinda never left , he was actually staying a few doors down with his owners sister who was taking care of him temporarily , then the owner asked if we would take him on permanently as he seemed so happy , he's gorgeous just adore him my black panther ❤

My landlord and landlady ask me to watch their black cat when they go on trips. To say that they are affectionate is an understatement. This cat HATES being alone and will sit and caterwaul behind the door that connects my landlord's house to my apartment. I'm on my second black cat and neither has been a lap cat. Although my current one sleeps in my arm nightly, she only does it because she's cold. During the day, she ignores me except when it's time for her medicine, which I mix with beef paste.

It took 2 years, but one of our black cats suddenly became a lap cat. Both were rescues, but she was semi-feral when she came into rescue. The other was a kitten when we adopted her. She is 3 now, but is still Boo the Nija Kitten. She likes pets on her own terms. And is quite the zoomer.

Bella the black cat. I adopted a young cute tabby cat from a no kill shelter. He was found on the street in the middle of an extremely cold winter. He's really curious and full of energy. After a few months I thought he might like a cat friend So back to the shelter. I would probably not be interested in a black cat. Then the owner introduced me to Bella. She too was found on a really cold day hiding behind a garage with 5 kittens, The vet said she was under a year old and was very sick. It was heart breaking to see her sad little face and skinny body. I had to wait a month for her to get the okay from the vet. Finally Bella came home with me. She was scared and talked or cried often. Very slowly I introduced her to her new brother Joey. It was not love at first sight. With lots of love and patience they became good friends. Even though their personalities are quite different. Now I love to watch them run, wrestle and cuddle. My dear little Bella's goal in life is to eat good food, take long naps and get lots of attention from me. She is so affectionate with me. She pets my face and gives me lots of head bunts. She loves to lay on my chest at bedtime. She no longer cries. She looks like a small black Siamese cat. She has the most beautiful little face. These two little rescue cats rescued me. Every day they fill my heart with love and joy. I now LOVE mysterious black cats. Please consider adopting one.

Dollar and Quarter -the two fantastic felines gentlemen all the way keep great watch on the neighborhood from their window pearch. They make sure I come in from work and keep me busy when at home so a slow blink high paw and a tail wave we three give paws up for those beautiful beings - just I must remember that they are the best (meow and don't forget it Mom❤)🐈⬛️🐈⬛️
The funny thing that I saw with the cats family members that I had in the past, and with other cats that I meet, is that when it comes of how much quantity of the fur they have, the more like a diva they behave, doesn't matter of their colors or if they are male cat or female cat. I think that big amount of fur gives them a real big boost of ego and eccentricity, but they still remain very loving animals, and that is awesome.

A colour of a cat doesnt matter
The only time my black cat has been loving was after I brought her home from two days in hospital, before she got sick, she always bit me and would not want to be picked up, the day I brought her home she was so loving and clingy I thought they gave me the wrong cat, it lasted a couple of days, she would jump in my lap and lay down. I know she is well again because she is back to wanting to kill me again LOL.
The fact that this is a question that needs to be answered really bothers me.
Pigmentation has no bearing on personality, intelligence or behavior.
This applies to cats as well as humans.
Racists, judging cats by their colour and not the content of their character.
