Just wondering how you’re going to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming. Both of his films are not on Disney Plus. 🕷

Mantis weeping uncontrollably over Drax's losing his family while he sits there emotionless is one of the greatest, most subtle and beautiful moments in the entire MCU.
I like that they didn't just drop that plot thread.
It's one of my favorite moments in the MCU, it's so well done
To me, that moment is what art looks like.
"He is Drax, the Destroyer. He will not cry, so I cry for him."
He's not emotionless, as the emotions are there - just on the inside. I would say he's being stoic, unyielding, enduring.
"He's like a baby and he like committed his first murder"
PROCEEDS TO LAUGH MANIACALLY
Baby's first rage killing. Truly the most heartwarming moment in the entire MCU.
Chris Pratt's (Star-Lord) father passed away during the production of this movie, which really hit him hard. His final scene giving Yondu the eulogy, as well as the entire movie itself, became exceptionally personal for him as a result.
Damn
That hurts
He died during the production of the first one, but it’s still sad
James Gunn told Chris to think of his own son before shooting the scene where Peter is sitting with baby Groot. Those tears in Peter's eyes were real. I believe Anna Ferris had just filed for divorce from Chris shortly before GOTG 2 wrapped production which blindsided Chris.
Star-Lord watched ALL THREE of his parents die before his eyes. :(

That has to be the smallest role I've ever seen Stallone play

@@silverscreen842 No. The smallest (after he became famous) was probably the cameo he did at the beginning of the French film Taxi 3. But maybe if you're going by screen time, that might have been just a bit longer so you could be right.
@@lightyagami1752 Oh yeah. I love that movie. Completely forgot he was in it.

Yeah, it makes her even more cute!
she dressed for this movie for sure lol
I was going to comment on her shirt till I saw your comment. Her shirt is dope.
Fun fact: Vin diesel STILL voices groot in this movie and his voice was not modulated to create the "Chipmunk" style high-pitched voice baby groot possesses. He can do it himself, and is actually a pretty good voice actor, as his childhood dream was to be as recognizable of a voice actor as Mel Blanc (of Looney Tunes fame) was and still is today.
That's cool I didn't know that
Vin Diesel is the coolest guy i know of who can still come across as a _complete_ douche.
He is a great voice actor, he’s the iron giant
@@existenceisrelative I think the doucheness is on purpose.
"No hesitation."
Yep, that is definitely Quill...for better or worse.
Sound moral judgment, plus zero hesitation... equals hero.
Questionable moral judgment, plus zero hesitation... equals chaos.
@youcef bouzidi Uh, you kinda already did that. Might wanna delete that before someone sees that.
toddsmitts well at least he didn't get into what actually happens. For all Mary knows he could be talking about anything. But if it was something else that's so obviously a hint that she figures out what happens now I would consider that a huge spoiler. This however could mean anything.
Y’all realize if he wouldn’t have done that then endgame wouldn’t have happened right? They still would’ve lost right?
For better, Thanos would've won if he hadn't hit him
The thing about Drax is that he is so literal that, in the end, he is being really sweet to Mantis. Put all their conversations together, and he basically tells her that he trusts her because she's a beautiful person on the inside. He just does it in a very Drax way.😏
Exactly!
Man the Guardians film really just stand out as great scifi films

This movie is amazing and the lines "he may have been your father but he wasn't your daddy" and "You are the one who wanted to win and I just wanted a sister" literally break my heart every single time I watch this movie.
Stan Lee talking to those aliens (The Watchers) was a nice nod to the popular fan theory that Stan was always playing the same character in the Marvel films where he had a cameo: Uatu the Watcher.
Since Uatu is an immortal, all knowing, psychic alien capable of appearing as anyone that has a penchant for bearing silent witness to critical events in the Marvel Multiverse, it perfectly matched the pattern for all of Stan's cameos.
Ever since the GOTG Vol.2, this has got to be my favorite Stan Lee cameo
The _Watchers_ don't take on "apparences", that must be some new rebooted crap for millennials.
Ok boomer
Drax isn't really an asshole. His people are much different than most. I even once heard he's immune to mind powers because he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
He is not a tool that belongs in a shed.

Guess the joke went over your head huh, but not mine, my reflexes were too quick and I caught it.
I think how they left the end of Vol 2 with Gamora and Peter, even though they didn't kiss, I believe they did start their relationship.
Peter talks about the "unspoken thing" between them throughout the film and his feelings were confirmed by Mantis is that scene on the ship. Gamora kept denying it, and didn't let Mantis touch her, but her line at the end during Yondu's funeral when she's looking all sweetly at Peter and he says "what?" and she goes "it's just... some unspoken thing" That was her admitting her feelings for Peter, admitting she returns the feelings he has for her. Then their sort of embrace/stance at the end is the start of their relationship.
WOW that was way longer than I meant it to be oops, I just love Peter and Gamora so much, as well as the gotg franchise
Yep, not everything has to be done with a kiss.
There relationship and how it grows is one of the best parts of the MCU
"He may be your father boy, but he wasn't your daddy" RIP Yondu, p.s. Mary you really are an empath, you're so in tube with all the feelings of these characters 👍🏼👍🏼
That scene makes me tear up every time
Somebody should've gotten Yondu a Galaxy's Greatest Dad mug.
Its a great scene. Reminds me of that old quote. That any man can have kids. But only a real man can be a father. Yondu is a true father figure lol
@@Strider91 idk about true father figure but he made up for his mistakes in the end
I think this movie is pretty powerful for anyone who's adopted into a good family or even just lost a parent. So good, such a great line
Mantis touching Drax and sobbing is such an incredible moment. In GOTG 1 he seemed emotionless but this showed he has such strong emotions, he just doesn’t show them 🥲🥲🥲
My favorite line in this movie: "It's worse. It's so much worse!"

He wasn't a planet, he just had elephantitis, the whole movie took place on one of Ego's gargantuan gonads.
Adam as in Adam Warlock. In the comics, he was one of the few characters that could go head to head with Thanos. I sure hope he shows up in GotG3.
Still cant believe he wasn't used in endgame like in the comics. Love his part in the Infinity War story
he is such a cool character. the only one whose story i keep rereading from all those books i read in the 70s. jim starlin didnt create him, but he fleshed him out perfectly, along with of course his actual creations, which are all over the mcu at this point. best creators in marvel comics: stan lee/jack kirby, followed by Jim Starlin
@@Dannydarko27 it was disappointing they didn't use him. It seems they used captain marvel in his spot. 🙄
@@PhillipG34 Not at all, if Captain Marvel is anyone in the original Infinity Gauntlet story, she would be Silver Surfer. Adam Warlock is beyond any superhero we've seen.
Considering what his character is, if they didn’t use him during the infinity saga there’s really no point in having him there
If you had told me when I saw the first GotG that I would cry over Yondu, I would never have believed you. But I sobbed.
Also Nebula has become a very interesting character. Her development in this movie was amazing.
Fun fact: they had to film the movie in outer space because the special effects were too damn expensive!!!

Priceless moments:
You reacting to the first "I'm Groot"
You laughing at Drax stabbing the monster
Laughing at Drax's turds
Along with Captain America, this is one of the few times that a good MCU movie has a worthy successor
It's so funny that Mary went and looked up raccoons after the last GOTG and knew instantly about the Trash Panda nickname.
Also, Rocket has an unholy fetish for acquiring prosthetics from people who need them, and a lust for weapons. It works.
Dave bautistas performance in this gets me everytime when he yells where's quill, ROCKET WHERE"S QUILL! omg don't get me started on the mantis scene he had where he's thinking of his wife, and mantis touches him and she feels what he feels and it shows on her but drax just has his regular face/smile and it hits you he always feels that. And star lord when he breaks out the trance when ego admits to killing his mom. So Good. Especially after seeing tony's reaction to bucky killing his mom. Then us losing yondu.
"I'M MARY POPPINS YA'LL!!"
"I am Groot."
I love that damn shirt you're wearing
She wore that for the first "Guardians" as well. Fitting to the theme. Women.... always such an eye for details.
Keep in mind Yondus arrow in the Guardian's movies came years before the Mandalorian
Mantis is one of my favorite MCU characters, so funny and adorable.
This has my favorite ending in the MCU. So beautiful.
Mary "your look is phenomenal, your wardrobe is phenomenal, your hair is phenomenal" and your laught is celestial ;)
Drax is very "literal". That's his schtick in the comics
The team Stalone's character assembles at the end is I believe an earlier comic book version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
If you listen, Stan Lee mentions his appearances in other movies. This canonizes the fan theory that Stan is one of the Watchers, aliens that passively observe things, so Stan has been in disguise in the various movies, watching things happen.
Starhawk, Aleta, Mainframe [voiced by Miley Cyrus, though in the Guardians future Mainframe is the Vision downloaded into a planetary computer core], Martinex, Charlie-27, Krogurr... I don't recall Major Victory, Replica, Talonn, or Nikki showing onscreen.
No spoilers, but some info: Ego is known in the comics as Ego: The Living Planet, meaning he's an actual planet that lives ;P Adam is the character Adam Warlock, a powerful cosmic being and he had a big role in the comic story Infinity Gauntlet (in which the setting of Infinity War and Endgame is based on). Zune is Microsoft's answer to Apple's Ipod, that one was pretty much a failure, it wasn't well known as the Ipod and Zune could only have over 300 songs while Ipod could have over a million songs on it (maybe not million, but much more than what Zune could).
What? Zune not only had models exactly the same size as the Ipod models, it also had hdd models later with way more storage than the Ipod when released.
Zune failed because people prefer a name over what is better - so they can fit in.
@@wyterabitt2149 Ah ok. Had no idea.
There's an interesting theory that Mantis is one of Ego's kids (and thus Peter's half-sister) and he kept her around because she can help him sleep. In the scene where he shows Peter his past, you see him with a woman of Mantis' species who is possibly her mother.
Sadly we won’t know for sure unless they tell us outright. Her parentage may or may not come up in the future.
This aged extremely well
Fun fact: the speech that Peter gives for yonduu wasn’t originally in the script, but Chris Pratt and Michael Rooker decided to make one for him.
I love how she reacts harder to Ego squishing the Walkman than the reveal he killed Starlord's mom.
In the comics, Starlord's father is actually a man named J'son who is the king of the planet Spartax, which makes Peter a prince. His dad also has a daughter named Victoria who is captain of the royal guards. They changed it because it .sounded too close to Star Wars
Are you referring to the original John Byrne Starlord?
Actually that's the new origin. Originally he was immaculately conceived during a planetary alignment...you can guess how well that went over with Christians
@@Biorythym Weirdly, the movie version is like a mix of the original and the current ones.
I get the feeling you're going to like Thor Ragnarock...
My first mp3 player in like.. '06, maybe? Was a Zune, and I was really happy, practically pretentiously happy I wasn't getting the ginormously popular iPod. I still think my old Zune was more of an intuitive design than the iPod, but maybe I'm biased.

In the comics, Adam Warlock is neither hero nor villain - he's an arrogant jerk, but he mostly just hangs out with equally godlike people. Whenever he gets involved with "lesser" beings, he's a bit of an arrogant SOB.
I have never seen Warlock arrogant and I've read every comics he's ever been in. lol He is controling yes and powerful and walks by his own beat. But he never act like he's superior.
