Great race, Cameron. However, you looked four times in the last 11 strokes. Only bad things happen when you look out. If you have a mark 20 strokes from the finish, maybe you look out for the last time. Then it is head in the boat hammering it until the line. Eventually, someone will tell you that you are over the line. But we are all still learning. Congrats. The first of many wins in the single, Iˋm sure.
Brilliant result. Well done you. It's been great to follow your progress from learning the basics right up to now where you are collecting silverware. I think going forward you need a #yamsquad chant from the riverbank to push you even faster!!!

Nice Job Cam! Your sculling is coming along nicely. You could really tell when you kicked it in when you got to the red bouys! But after that, as another commenter said, too much looking and not enough focus, but that shows me that you are a racer and your goal is to win, I like that! But it would be good to work on knowing where the competition is with fewer looks.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm going to disagree with you on looking out the boat. Obviously not right due everyone and not right in every situation but I ended up going faster because of it. If I was upsetting the boat and slowing down I'd completely agree!
Cameron, coming off the start...from the START...its called SHIFT. Think of as a car, think of shifting to a lower gear. You shift into a lower gear. Think of the word shift, in us sweep rowers, our cox would sa... shift in two, that’s one, that’s two, and then we would shift. That would be the hardest stroke of the race. And then we shifted into a lower gear. The power that came off of that would be phenomenal.
Hi Frank! Thanks for the feedback! I don't really like that strategy in my racing. We used to do that in my university eights but in my single not for me!
Congrats on the win! I haven’t rowed since 2014 as moved to other sports but this brings back memories seeing Dorney. Still get butterflies seeing the warmup lake bit 😂
Nicely done! Great to see your progress in 1x. Posture looked good, not overly tense in the shoulders and patience with the power application in the drive
Strategy for winning a race: I reckon that if, during a race, you tilted your bum at the correct angle, you could get quite a decent volume of fart in the boat. This could be a strategy for winning a race. The other team would collapse with laughter and their rowing qould collapse too.
Yamborghini on the Thames at Henley has a good ring to it I think!!!
Loves the look of doing maths in your head and the view of the stake boat holder letting go of the start.
Big ups for the big lad!
Bring back the daily vlogs Eamon
Numbers are hard 😂 thanks big dog!
Well done cam that was a long drive, you would need someone to drive you so you can be relaxed for the regatta
That would be lovely!
@@CameronBuchan I’m pretty sure you could find volunteers here if you asked

Thanks Terry! Fortunately bad things didn't happen when I looked out!
I liked the new episode format of taking us through a whole regatta. Also congrats on the W!
LETS GO CAMMMMMMM!!!!
Absolutely ROARING for those last 200 meters, but super even and no shoulder throw in that sprint, beautiful to watch
Congrats Cam! 🍠 I sculled in J18 single at Met -my first proper regatta!! Such a great weekend 🚣♀️💪
I hope you enjoyed it!
Another timepiece to the collection
Awesome Cam! Was great to see you around at a regatta again, didn’t want to distract you by saying hello😂 congrats on the hard earned W!
Thank you! #yamsquad

Thanks James! That sounds like a great idea! #yamsquad
Great result, well done. Excellent video as ever really telling the story well and giving us the regatta experience. 👏

I would say 2 seconds each side max!
Many Congratulations, Cam! It's well deserved!

Felicidades Cameron, very happy to see your hard work pay off and never giving up.
Giving me great motivation this morning, for a big athlete you’re looking really smooth in that scull. 💪💪
Congrats Cam. Hard work in training paying off for you!

We're getting better! #yamsquad
Well Done! The Loch sculling is paying off! Looks like you are a strong finisher since we lose sight of the other scullers at the end of the race.
Big Yam! That was a great video!
Well done! Enjoy the win!
Amazing result! Keep on Yammin’ on...
Well done Cam … massive improvement in your blade work too 👏👍

Congrats, Cam!
Outstanding! 😁 Have you checked the gps trace from your camera to see if you even-splitted the time trial?
Unfortunately I had the GPS off to save battery!
I Sea row so have no idea wtf's going on but it looked good
GREAT RACE CAM!!
Congratulations! Into the pain cave you went!
Definitely needed the head torch!

7:19.4, times are available online if you wanna see the others

Great stuff
Just did met today
Won it in 2011, nice cup and keeping the big medal is a bonus
That's awesome! Were they still writing the names on the cup at that point?
@@CameronBuchan I think so, I've not seen it since but there was space for a few more
I can't find the list of past winners but I know Campbell and maybe Redgrave were on it
@@BenRoweOutdoors I know a couple too! We're in good company! They stopped putting the names on now hence why I asked!! Sad times
@@CameronBuchan that is a shame. Congrats on the win!
What is your current Height and Weight?
