What does it mean to be a Fulbright scholar?
In this video, I talk about my scary, exciting, and challenging experience as a Fulbright Philippine Agriculture scholar at the University of Washington in Seattle. I discuss the perspectives I gained as a young student of the Philippine Science High School and the University of the Philippines, and how this changed and expanded upon going out into the world. I also look at the societal pressures and factors that a Filipina scientist must encounter in order to do good science in our country.
This is a special video based on a talk I gave at a previous World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific conference that has been updated to help celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Foundation.
